I was expecting a lot more from this Restaurant. I thought it was very expensive and the portions we’re small. Did the food taste good, yes it did but it wasn’t anything amazing.
It just missed for me.
Our waiter Kyle was so nice and made sure my Sister felt special on her Birthday! Absolutely love everything about Crustaceans!
It was ok. Very over priced. The service was good but the remodel was kinda silly. Mostly Cosmetic. Will not be going back. I have been here before the remodel at least 20 times.
The remodel is super gorgeous. The food is always amazing but it was my first time joining as a vegan and they had delicious options! Vegan crab cake was amazing! Followed it with gluten free garlic noodles and spinach. Had the Soju cocktail which was amazing as well. Can’t wait to go back!
Great ambience and really good service. Food was great, but could have been hotter...served only slightly warm!
We eat at some of the best restaurants around the world and we were disappointed with this restaurant overall. The food is good but it's super expensive. The waiter pushes you to order the most expensive things on the menu and doesn't recommend anything else when there are many other very good dishes on the menu. I felt uncomfortable from the waiter's pushiness. The "special crab" is $78 and the steak on the salt block also $70 something. We wound up ordering the crab because someone in our party wanted to see what the hype was about. It was overhyped for sure. Our favorite dishes were the Dragon fried rice, the Tuna cigar appetizer and the Mongolian lamb. These were all much better than "their specialties."
Amazing food! Amazing service! Will go back again!
You get a little for a lot of $
Just wonderful! The garlic crab and garlic noodles are a MUST! Also the beignets were a delicious desert
This place was outstanding! I’m never disappointed. The service was impeccable.
This is my favorite restaurant when visiting California. I love the garlic noodles.
Love this place! Love Thomas💕Great lunch with our daughter 😊🍷
The food was excellent, our waiter was a pleasure and the overall experience was extremely positive.
Excellent food, service and ambience.
Can’t rave enough about Crustacean since the remodel! The food, the attention, our server Marco were the best! We were there for Christmas Eve dinner and everything was stunning!
Great service! Love the new look!!
Took my parents out to dinner.
Blown away by the impeccable service and attention to detail.....made it completely worth the price! The atmosphere is great too. This place is for memory-making!
Absolutely AMAZING!!!! I’ve been to the San Francisco location many times & it has been my favorite restaurant for years!! When I heard there was a location in la I couldn’t wait to try it out & was hoping it was the same quality...I was in luck!!!! Best dinner I’ve had since San Francisco!! Delicious!!!!
Had a reservation for a friends birthday. Waited at the bar about 10 minutes before being seated which wasn’t a problem at all. I don’t recall our waiters name but he was very friendly and superb to say the least. Next time i visit LA i will definitely return. Bill for 2 was $275 including drinks.
Food was excellent (except for appetizers) and our server treated us well, but the hosts & hostess were rude/snobby. One of the hosts looked up and down at us, sizing us up. They didn’t tell us where to wait so we were just standing around in the small area by the host table and bar, blocking the traffic. We got seated at the patio table by the bar as if we were walk in customers. Other people with reservation were shown to their permanent table once their table opened up. We were told our patio table was our permanent table. We asked to be moved, but then we were not allowed to order even appetizer. Others who were waiting for their table were allowed to order food and drinks and were told their food would be transferred to their permanent table. When we left, the host didn’t even bother looking at us (I gave one of them eye contact) - he looked at us as if he was glad we were finally leaving. I even said thank you and I immediately regretted it. The two of us spent close to $300 including tip, not a small change. I never felt so disrespected in a restaurant before.
None of us dressed inappropriately - I came in with my work attire (button up shirt, proper trousers, and shoes) - I don’t understand why they treated us the way they did. I used to come here quite often, and sadly I will not ever come back here again. There are other places that serve great food, provide great service and treat their customers with respect.
Don’t bother with the appetizer sampler unless you want to be disappointed.
Delicious food beautifully presented, great table, great service (Luke from Williamsburg), and Bev Hills all in one package. LOVE tableside surprises and experiences!!! The Butternut Squash amuse bouche and the smoking tuna cigars. WOW!
Amazing from start to finish!
We are big fans of Crustacean! We celebrate all of our special occasions at Crustacean. Best restaurant in Los Angeles.
Great Staff and Great Service excellent Food
We were fans of this restaurant four years. This experience was very disappointing. I am shocked at the lack of gluten free options available, only a gf pasta. Especially in the form of gf desserts there was essentially nothing. The new decor is horrible, the old Interior Design was accented with Asian antiques and deco-modern style furniture along with multi levels. It was like walking into a 1930s Chinese opium den. Very exotic and transporting. The new design looks like a nightclub trying to be very on trend. I guess the owner thought they needed to attract a new demographic or clientele to keep up with other places, what a disappointment and shame. There are tacky flat screen televisions on the walls Projecting images of beautiful Asian women from the golden era. It’s too bad they could only come up with this idea to remind customers of where they are. There are even cords hanging from these flatscreen televisions. Really? After such an extensive renovation they still have court again from flatscreen televisions on the walls? Projecting images of beautiful Asian women from the golden era. It’s too bad they could only come up with this idea to remind customers of where they are. There are even cords hanging from these flatscreen televisions. Really? After such an extensive renovation they still have courts having from flatscreen televisions of the walls? The biggest horror is to use fake flowers in Southern California; it’s mind-boggling at a restaurant of his caliber would actually cover the place in them. It looks like a wedding from a cheap wedding chapel. Why would anyone design a new restaurant with so many artificial flowers?
Great variety of choices! We must’ve ordered 2/3 of the menu and everybody tried everything. Super tasty and creative cuisine. Additionally, our waiter, Shaun(sorry if I misspell) was outstanding personality, very attentive, and educational about the food and cocktails. Made it an all-around wonderful experience. Thank you Crustacean!!
We had not been to Crustacean for quite a while and awaited the re-opening after remodeling. The updated restaurant is beautiful. And, the food is as delicious as it had always been. We celebrated our anniversary and received a lovely card along with excellent service. The food is interesting and so good. Don't be surprised by the check -- this is not an inexpensive meal -- but worth it!
My first time back since the remodel. It’s a very different vibe now and energy level. Less of a hip hangout and more of an older crowd restaurant now. Feels smaller and more confined now when you walk in. Sort of like the old Crustacean.
Great food… always solid. however, we had to hunt down a server multiple times for water, forgetting a dish, etc. They seem to like to congregate on the side of the restaurant and chit chat, rather than be present on dining floor. Very nice but attentive to say the least. But food is definitely great so will be back.
It was our first time here since the renovation and the place is stunning. Although the koi pond is intact, there are now more tables over it obstructing the review. The garlic noodles remain amazing and the crab outstanding. My wife did not think the crab was as flavorful as in the past, but I disagree. Service was very good except one of our vegetable dishes arrived to our table cold and had to be sent back. Overall, our experience at Crustacean was wonderful. We’ll definitely been back.
We've been dining at Crustaceans since 1997. The first time was in San Francisco. Beverly Hills is equally as great. We look forward to dining at least 2 - 3 times a year, if not more. Quality of food and service has not diminished.
A great experience from start to finish! The entire staff could not have been nicer, the food was superb!
We have always enjoyed Crustacean as a special occasion restaurant since it is some distance from our house. Unfortunately, the attitude they’re developing about dress code is both insulting and not enforced. On one occasion they advised us that we had to dress in Great Gatsby attire, whatever in the hell that is. When I’m going to dinner, I don’t see myself as going to a costume party. Last night we were advised to wear business or cocktail attire, which is what we would wear typically anyway. However there were people there in jeans and collarless shirts so why suggest a dress code if you’re not going to enforce it.
Food was amazing as always. Very romantic setting, great service.
Wonderful! Service excellent and Mrs. An’s food is delicious! One of LA’s finest!!
We were very disappointed with the table given to us. I specifically requested for a private table and instead we were seated dead smack in the middle of the room next to another party who was no more than two feet away from us! I couldn't believe the manager had the audacity to say, "I hope you like your table". Are you kidding me? Unbelievable! What a sad way to celebrate my fiancee's birthday. To top it off, we were not even given a complimentary birthday dessert. No class.
The remodel is great much lighter. The service was on point. The food was amazing especially the sea bass and lamb chops!
