Overall a great evening. Only let down was on the patio or outer tables by the open windows the car noise is quite pervasive. Also no heaters so it got quite chilly. Otherwise impeccable food, service and decor
The crabs were not as tasty as they used to be.
Crab and garlic noodles were outstanding!!!
It’s been a while that we went back since the renovation. The new remodeled space has completely lost its original charm. It was my favorite restaurant, but it’s gone down hills...
The space was open to a noisy, ugly street corner, and the restaurant struggled to find us a space away from the traffic/noise/sun on the face. Despite several tries to find a reasonable table, the music was blasting on top of our table. I suppose it’s the restaurant strategy to combat noise?! I’ve provided feedback to the waiter, but no improvement.
The new menu has nothing to write home about, in fact, it’s a complete rip-off! The potions are so tiny, it provides no value. Even it’s famous crab and garlic noodles had gone down in portion significantly.
It was only about 60-70% full on a Sunday night, which I’ve never seen in the last 20 years being a patron of the place. It’s always packed no matter when we go. I guess I am not the only one feeling utterly disappointed. Gone with one excellent landmark LA restaurant. The management probably only cares about milking the brand, instead of providing value. Very sad.
I have been wanting to try this place for years. I finally booked a reservation for a birthday. Had a reservation at 8:45 but hit there fairly early at 8:05pm. Sat at the bar and ordered one round. Closed the tab before we hit seated. Got seated at our table at 8:50. Hosts, hostesses, bartenders had a very cold, uppity vibe. As soon as we sat, one of the snooty bartender named Dave walks up with an accusing tone. “Excuse me miss, but when we opened the receipt, the customer copy was missing that would have the signature”. The tone and word choice took me by surprise. So my mood changed from enjoying my chat during the birthday celebration to a bit of shock since I signed the receipt and left it in the little leather receipt folder with all the copies and the pen. I know this because everyone I was with saw me sign and hand it over. And I definitely didn’t have any type of receipt in my purse. So after I simply said, oh that’s weird but I did sign and left all the copies in there. He just had this face of “yeah right” and everyone noticed. I was a bit embarrassed since I felt accused of either walking away without paying or lying about not taking the copy as if I didn’t want to pay. I’m not sure why he stereotyped me to do something like that at such an establishment but no one deserves that unless it is a fact. Anyway, our server Nelson turned everything around with his humble, friendly, happy service. If not for him, the whole vibe and night would’ve been just straight pretentious. At this point, I can’t even remember anything spectacular about the food and perhaps because the night was already ruined by such a rude accusation. Good thing I took pics to remember what I even ordered. There are far too many restaurants in Beverly Hills to have one bully bartender in your establishment. Nelson is definitely a five star server but overall rating factors in service and experience overall. Disappointing, Dave.
Food was great service was on point. Could not ask for a better place to spend an Anniversary.
Wonderful meal. Luke was excellent
Best service, food is amazing!! Best restaurant in town!!
This is a GREAT spot on ALL levels!
GREAT food, service, everything!
Little pricey in my opinion BUT I love to eat so kinda worth it and when it's this good!
We had had dinner at Crustacean in San Francisco before. We had the signature Dungebess crab as we had it in San Francisco, but the taste was so bland. We were so disappointed that the crab was not good as we’ve expected. The service was amazing, but the crab was overpriced for that quality.
Very professional and friendly staff.
Simplemete magia en la cocina, la atención insuperable y sus sabores secretos lo hacen uno de los mejores lugares del mundo
INCREDIBLE. Fantastic service! Food was interesting and delicious!
This is one of those menus where you could close your eyes and point at several items. order them and always be delighted with thee choice. The appetizers are spectacular....don't miss the "cigars". My favorite entree is the whole crab, which they will remove from the shell then present it with the completely shelled meat placed into the hollowed out shell. Then there is the garlic noodles.....not to be missed.....my wife and I like them so much we usually take an order or two home. Service is impeccable yet friendly...elegant without any stuffiness. We keep going back for more. Love this restaurant.
Impeccable service. The food was delectable and we’ll need several more visits to sample the rest of the menu. An’s famous garlic noodles are reason enough to visit.
Really enjoyed the food. I don’t really love the chairs they have there. For the price of the food it feels like you’re in a living room. Otherwise the experience was good.
I loved the new look. The food was delicious as usual. Just wish there was more of it.
High quality fresh ingredients and great service. Upscale location and ambiance.
Amazing food & ambience! Chef Helene came around to greet everyone + treated you a couple of her specialties! Most appreciated! Yum!
Waiter wasn’t kind.
I’ve never been to a restaurant where every item on the menu was appealing and every single item that we tried was a delight. I like the ambience in the dining rooms. The lounge is a little noisy.
If you visit Beverly Hills, Crustacean is a must-do!
Luca was a wonderful addition to our experience. He was warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the variety of dishes. He really helped enhance our experience because neither I or my my girlfriend had been since the renovation. Food, service, ambiance exceptional.
The staff checked on us too much. Which is better than not at all. Twice when we were talking just to ask how things were and to tell us an unnecessary story- this happens to us a lot as a lesbian couple. People lingered and talk to us more than they did other couples. That was not good awareness on the part of the staff. Otherwise amazing!
I was not sure what to order, with Alex helped and suggestions my lunch was dubious. Thank you Alex 😊
I was eager to try again after the “re-do.” Total disappointment...even the garlic noodles weren’t what they used to be. Server took a long time for everything ...from asking for drink order (15 minutes after seating); taking our food order (another 15 minutes.) Neither of us liked the food when it did come. We won’t be going back.
Having dined at The District in Los Angeles and AnQi in Costa Mesa, we truly looked forward to this dining experience at Crustacean Beverly Hills. We were greeted by 3 beautiful hostesses and a handsome host who guided us to a table for two in the main dining room - center, on pick velvet chairs. This set the evening off to THE best of everything anyone could ask for. The beauty, the design, unbelievable courtesy and service, and the taste of the duck potstickers, sea bass, garlic noodles, the tempura sole and genuine Vietnamese coffee. Congratulations to all who have made the new Crustacean happen! At the Bar? The best Jalisco-Saigon. Special accolades to server Jack L. and Gordon's hospitality and enthusiasm!
The seating host-Asian guy-terrible probably the worst seating host ever
The old lady -chef or owner? -very arrogant
Food was good and all the non Asian people were very professional except for those two.
I am not coming back there because of the owner? The chef? And the seating host guy
Will not recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Sun was in our eyes but all in all the experience was great
Peaceful, delicious and divine Vietnamese.
This has been my favorite restaurant for a while. My last two visits were less than stellar and this should be unacceptable for a fine dining restaurant. Last time, I found a small piece of wood in one of my dishes and they took that dish off our bill. This time there was supposed to be an amuse bouche with the special lunch menu but we had to remind them after they brought the first course. A nonalcoholic drink we ordered was supposed to be $5 instead of $10 with the special lunch menu but on the bill they charged us $10. These are small things that an upscale, expensive restaurant should not have to be reminded about. That said, the main dishes and one of the first course items (mushroom wonton) were delicious. I might need to find a new favorite restaurant if things don't improve.
Great ambience, but I don’t think Vietnamese fusion food should be that expensive. You’re paying for dining in Beverly Hills.
The Crab Puff was melted in your mouth... and the garlic noodles was still delicious👍👍
Garlic noodles and 🦀 is the best noodles I’ve ever had.
I and my family loved the whole experience. They took care of us as soon as we walked in the door. I reserved my table via OpenTable and informed that we will be celebrating 🥳 my mother’s birthday. They provided us a small starter compliments of the restaurant and a nice birthday card from the restaurant addressed to my mom in calligraphy and a dessert at the end with a candle. Throughout the reservation, the manager checked on us to ensure we were taken care of. But not in an annoying way 👌🏾. It was me and my sister’s first time and my mom’s second (after like 10+ years or so lol). But their reputation for their garlic noodles is so worth it, seeing the koi fish as you walk on the floor and the decor is so me. The food is pricey but the cost of the food is well worth it because the food and the customer service is amazing 🙌🏾. My family and I are still thinking/drooling about those garlic noodles. We will definitely be back! 👍🏾
My server, Gerard L. was just awesome and his food selections recommendations were just spot on. My first time there for my mini vacation and simply loved it. I will definitely be back. Thank you.
Liked the old restaurant but the new additions are a nice touch Almost didn’t recognize it
The food is excellent as always. It might be my imagination but the quantity seemed smaller. Service is friendly I would still recommend and go back again
