Caramelized Onion Soup
Went there for hubby's birthday dinner. Other than the additional pandemic requirements of a detailed health declaration (using pen and paper, no less), and generous spacing between tables, ordering via QR code and online menu, the dining experience is still excellent. Four of us shared two appetizers - crab cake and pan fried goose liver - excellent, beautifully plated. Each of us had soups: caramelized onion soup (no cheese thank goodness, to let the subtle sweet taste of the onions come through), and wild mushroom soup (nice earthy taste, with pieces of mushroom to lend a nice heft to the soup). Three of us ordered steaks (US Prime tenderloin, Australian grass fed rib eye), and the fourth ordered a Surf and Turf. The steaks were cooked perfectly according to each diner's preference, and all had a nice crust seared on the outside. The steaks had a nice chew - none of the mushiness associated with pre-sous-vided (that's a thing now) steaks. The Surf and Turf was half-disappointing though - the tenderloin was great, but the "Turf" portion was made of 3 tiny shrimps. I would think that the Marriott would be able to source at least black tiger prawns. For dessert, the black cherry yogurt was the winner of the night.
Service was excellent, pleasant and attentive but not obtrusive. The server was familiar with the menu and had good suggestions.
Obviously pricey but good for when you want to indulge in fine dining.
Great value for money. Steak was a bit dry and less flavorful as it used to be. I used to be a regular for the unlimited steak on Sundays but now that they moved it to Thursdays, there is no longer a dessert option to complete the meal.
Ribeye was dry and not tender, although side dishes were excellent. Main course was a dissappointment.

Best steak place I tried in Manila, food and service was impeccable.
Every dish other than the steak was fine. Unfortunately steak in Manila is very problematic and Cru was no exception. Other than the steak and an almost non existent wine list all other aspects were good, particularly service and ambiance.

good value though steak was a bit on the tough chewy side. i prefer a more tender, melt-in-your-mouth, juicy steak. i liked the dessert selection.
Great angus steak and lovely ambience
The stake house is beautiful and the staff very attentive to all your request. The barbecue area is open and you can see the meat being prepared. They sell glass of wine what’s very nice for someone that will have dinner alone. All things were very well prepared. The offer a fresh home made bread to you wile you wait for your stake. Very good!
I have eaten there several times and have always enjoyed a wonderful meal with great service and interesting wine list.
The service was excellent and my guest was recognized as a former frequent diner. His name plaque was brought to our table. The atmosphere and food completely met my expectations for fine dining worldwide.

Its a nice fine dining place in Manila. My boyfriend works in Manila and he cherished the moment that we had in Cru Steakhouse. Thank you the team on creating a memorable birthday celebration for him. He also moved on the handwriting card from the team.
Wonderful service, extensive menu. That much of the best ingredients were Australian (we’re Australian) was coincidental. Great steaks, great night, a great end to a week in the Philippines.
Our team always love having our steak in Cru. Worth our time and money. The staff are also very good- We will definitely go back to celebrate another milestone in our group.
Service was good and the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. However, the steak was quite bland and was not up to par considering the relatively high price.
Excellent steaks, champagne and desert. Service was attentive at first but slowed down too much on second course. Forgot to send espresso until reminded.

We came in on a Sunday evening. There wasn't a lot of diners so it felt like we owned the entire restaurant. We didn't ask, but we were given the chef's table. Staff were knowledgeable with their menu and wine. They recommended the sampler as the appetizer which has a little of everything. I really liked the gumbo soup and the peta cheese that accompanied the chicken wing. It was our 1st time to taste foie gras, and my girlfriend had most of it. I've had really good steaks in different steakhouses before, but hands down Cru, it was the best I've had. Cooked medium to perfection just the way I like it with a soft buttery texture. It felt they really took care and put a lot of thought in sourcing out their meats. Mashed potato was fluffy soft as well. We got 2 complimentary cakes, the chef table complimentary salted caramel cake was divine. I can't believe a cake can taste that good. It was a nice touch when the staff would fold my table napkin whenever I go to the restroom, it'll be waiting for me on the table folded neatly. They didn't have to do it, but it really made me feel special as their guest. Overall it was an amazing 1st time experience.
