Excellent food, wine, service-- everything was perfect. Thank you!
had a great experience was looking for nice quiet evening with good food
Server Ray was accommodating and engaging. Good service and appropriate food recommendations.
Very nice servers! Had a problem with our order that was resolved politely and right away. Great atmosphere, neat decor, and beautiful patio on one of the most walkable streets in Texas.
LOVED this place. Super impressive and unique wine list and great flights. Food was fantastic and memorable. We were just overall really pleasantly surprised and impressed with the whole experience. Will become one of our regular go-to date night spots.
Always wanted to try the Dallas location but we went in Austin. Service was spectacular! We ordered a cheese plate, one of our cheeses was so dry it crumbled when I tried to cut it. The server quickly fixed the issue. They were out of mussels too. The wine flight was great! The pizza was incredible!
1. didn’t have the wine we ordered on menu
2. substitute wine not close to what was advertised on menu. I hinted at a discount but waitress scoffed. This after 40 minute wait to “chill” said wine
3. Ahi tuna tartare ruined with Kalamata olives. This dish is subtle but adding powerful olives took all the tuna & avocado flavors away
4. Waitress ignored our information re: the reservation being through open table. I walked over the manager who understood & managed the issue (after avoiding eye contact with us)
So, poor service - poor food (the cheeses were good that come from elsewhere) I will probably go back as it’s in my neighborhood & a couple of other dishes I have liked. Cheaper because poor service does not get 20% from me. My expectations are low.
Consistently great wine and food. I really loved the salmon. Everything seems to be carefully prepared and served perfectly. Service was very knowledgeable and at the perfect pace. We love this place!
We’re no som’s by any means. My wife and ordered 2 of their flights and weren’t super excited about any of them. The waiter walked us through what we liked made a few recommendations let us try a couple and we ended up loving the choices. Staff was extremely helpful, even though they were short handed. Food was great with the wine. We would absolutely go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a wine bar downtown
Maddy served us on Father's Day and the service was fantastic! We are new in Austin and will return!
I've never been to a wine bar or wine based restaurant but CRU was amazing. Our waiter, Ethan, was awesome and made the experience one of the best. Took a date there, our first, and he made sure that it was as memorable and perfect as possible. 13/10 would go back just to have him wait on us again. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food with fantastic appetizers. The wine flights were a great way to sample a variety.
We had a great time, service was awesome and food was perfect!
Mother’s day Brunch was fantastic! The service was great and the food was even better! Highly recommend and will definitely eat here again.
The food was great, our server was friendly, the price was a bit more than I’d like.
Great place, good people watching, service was amazing.
Food was good but pricey. Ambience is nice plus it's quiet.
The lamb chops were tough. The service was slow. The salmon was average. Nothing great. We have enjoyed cru in Dallas and were very disappointed with our Austin cru experience.
We enjoyed having a large selection of wine flights. Sitting outside was nice for people-watching while we enjoyed a very nice cheese board. Very lovely food and drink! Our server may have been having a difficult day. He was attentive enough, but never once smiled or offered any comment whatsoever other than the bare necessity of words...the only negative of our experience.
We each enjoyed a different flight of wines. The grilled cheese and soup was excellent- definitely for the grown up taste. The scallops and risotto were cooked perfectly and very tasty. The wait staff was very attentive. I’ve already recommended to a friend and plan on coming back.
Great food, great service and lovely atmosphere
We enjoyed the wine flights, it was a great way to sample some unique wines. They have a nice menu, we just shared appetizers and enjoyed what we had. Just a note that they are exclusively a wine bar, no liquors, so keep that in mind when booking.
Our second time to Cru and great again! The service was perfect and we all enjoyed our dishes. Highly recommend Cru. Thanks
Service was really bad. We were seated, had a drink and appetizer and never saw a waiter again. We ended up just leaving some cash on the table and left. It really seemed like they didn't know how to manage a restaurant.
Shame too cause the appetizer and wine were both very good. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't go back.
Poor service - obviously short staffed. Food tasted good but was not hot. Wine selection was disappointing.
The wait staff had excellent recommendations that paired perfectly with the food! Absolutely delicious food and fantastic ambience!! Great for a first date, a night out or even an anniversary, like myself and fiancé enjoyed!!!
We have been 4 to 5 times and every visit was outstanding, from the entrees to the wine to the service. We will definitely keep coming back. Cru is one of our favorite restaurants in Austin.
Great, smaller than I thought, but great food and the wine was awesome!
Great service! The waiter was attentive and friendly. We had issues with our table wobbling and they couldn't seem to fix it. Wine and champagne were great and the waiter made great effort in finding a good fit! There is room for improvement on the calamari, mostly just pieces of batter. The cheese plate was great and we had an overall good experience.
This was our first time a Cru and it was a very good experience. I was surprised because I thought I knew most of the good spots in Austin! Our waiter took very good care of us and we enjoyed everything Thanks CRU!
Service was lovely but the brunch food wasn’t great. Everything had lots of pepper and overall very mediocre. Beautiful little restaurant, perhaps better for an evening glass of wine than for a Sunday brunch.
The food selection is a bit scarce, but was good.. wine selection was of course wonderful. It took 18 mins for someone to come acknowledge that we were at our table, we also weren’t sat by someone- they just pointed to a table... and our server was terrible. It was a so so experience
Great location, food and service. Pizza was really good. Tomato soup and grill cheese is a must. Good wine options.
Food was good. Disappointed that the website was out of date so the preset menu option was not available.
Last minute reservation and there was a table reserved for us
Perfect food expertly cooked!
Great food and great service! Very knowledgeable on wine 👌
Other than not being able to have an initial cocktail, this place was a great find in advance of an ACL concert. Loved that they split plates for us (had a late lunch). Excellent service and respectable wine list.
Great selection of wine and cheeses. Creative appetizers. Friendly staff. Loved the whole experience.
Wine flights were amazing. Small plate style service so you can order a lot to try many things.
Excelente lugar con un ambiente bohemio, la comida muy buena y la atención excelente.
