Cru is a very nice place. The wine was good. My only issue was the waiter lacked self awareness and etiquette. He reached across my date to fill her water instead of from the right and almost hit her in the face with the menu which is on a wood board. They were also setting the restaurant back up after an event. Dragging the chairs across the concrete floor was distracting and ruined the atmosphere. I will be back hopefully wait staff will be more aware of their impact on the experience and Trained in proper etiquette.
Excellent service! We had a large group and everyone was very accommodating.
Excellent food and service!
Appetizers - came out fairly quickly
1). lobster and shrimp dumplings: very good
2). pizza: ok
3) grilled cheese and tomato soup: good
4). goat cheese beignets: not so good
Main entrees took forever.
Dessert - skip the chocolate fondue (old strawberries, figs, bananas, chocolate rolled up cookies and stale pound cake pieces.
Wine bar so no other mixed drinks in the event you didn’t know.
Go for happy hour and appetizers but skip eating dinner here.
Made an opentable reservation for 1130pm--called ahead of time to ensure the kitchen was still open & they confirmed that the kitchen closed at midnight (as per the website). We arrived at 1125pm (5 mins early for reservation) and the server told us the kitchen was closed. I showed him the reservation & the website and he says it was not updated. He then accused me of not calling the correct number. Thus, I called the same number back and watched him answer (!)--he turned around and I told him it was he that I spoke to. He then said the worker who answered the phone didn't know the correct hours. This was just blatent disrespect and discrimination. False advertisement at it's best! CRU DO BETTER!!!!!
Salmon was great and wine list is always excellent.
Excellent menu service. Wine flights were fantastic.
It was a great experience. The waiter made great wine selections and food. It was all delicious.
Wonderful service and hospitality. The charcuterie board was underwhelming as was the salad, but the wine was excellent, particularly at half price.
Food and wine were very good.
Went for lunch. It was not busy at all. Service was “meh”, especially for being pretty dead. Only wine (hence wine bar), so don’t expect to have options if someone in your group doesn’t drink wine. Food was average. Atmosphere was cute. Would go back.
Service was a little slow and the restaurant was not at capacity (several tables empty). The noise level was a little high, though it's expected with the close proximity of the tables and relatively small space. The food was good, and once we got to place the orders, the food arrived promptly.
The atmosphere is always great in here, quick service and great food
We dropped in late on New Year’s Eve as our daughter’s flight was late arriving and we needed to eat before a 10:30pm church service. Loved the atmosphere. Menu was limited that night. Everything was good, except lobster bisque was too thin and void of lobster. The bartender was our waiter, so the service wasn’t stellar, but we would try it again on a regular night. It’s not a large place, so make reservations early.
We had the special Christmas Eve dinner and couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of the food, wine and service. The steak was cooked perfectly and the service was attentive. The venue is intimate and allows for comfortable conversation. I recommend trying the flights for an excellent and affordable sampling of the wines.
Our Christmas Eve options were limited by our tight budget this year so CRU really fit the bill. Have wanted to try them for a long period of time, as their word of mouth reputation glowingly preceded our visit. In short, it could not have been a better experience, all around. We're early birds, so when we arrived at 6 we practically had the room to ourselves. We had a pinot noir wine flight and the prix fixe menu with the lobster and shrimp potstickers, seared scallops and the molten lava chocolate cake. Everything was incredible, and the smaller portions fit our "budgeted" diets better as well.
Cannot recommend CUR highly enough.
We attended an Internations event and decided to have an early dinner before the event started. The food was delicious but lacked some key ingredients as stated on the menu. Both omissions were corrected and overall, we were pleased with the food. The rest of the evening at Cru was festive and fun!
Great service. Staff knows their stuff about wine. Great to talk too at the bar!
The food was great and our server was really nice. It was also super quiet and peaceful, would definitely go again.
Great dining experience. We were a group of six, sat outside and shared small plates. The service was excellent and all of the food was delicious, everything!
