I went at lunch. 3-Course Prix Fixe - and I ordered Grilled Citrus-Marinated Chicken, Hot Sauce. the taste was good but the presentation of the food was disgusting. the chicken paw on the plate was the decoration. I hid it under the lettuce.

Crown Shy is an understated yet beautiful and welcoming restaurant space. The bar and table service is first rate, the food excellent. Do not be fooled by the rather simple-seeming menu selections - it is easy to order too may dishes, and you will eat them all! The vegetable dishes we ordered (the acorn squash and the charred carrots) were attractively composed, but somewhat underwhelming For appetizers, the Gruyere fritters and the white bean humus were both outstanding. For our main course, the grilled, citrus-marinated chicken with hot source was extraordinary and delicious - if it weren't so damn good, it could easily feed two people! The wine list is quite extensive - and expensive, but the wine steward made several suggestions to meet our taste and budget. Highly recommended.

I was a little disappointed. The music was very loud. The food was good but as good as I hoped. I realize that it is hard to live up to the hype. The space is beautiful. I am looking forward to your new restaurant!!

amazing food!! small portions, but it's just a reason to order more dishes. the sommelier was super helpful and guided us to the most perfect wine. went for my anniversary and they gave us a cupcake to help celebrate which was a wonderful touch! they also have an awesome playlist which always helps.

We went to Crown Shy to check out the space for an upcoming event. Natalie, the event coordinator was very sweet and so helpful. Our som, Ramsey, was very attentive and sweet.

The service was friendly but extremely inattentive. The table next to us had an almost constant manager/server checking up on them. The menu limited for brunch and my omelette had obviously been sitting out waiting before they brought it to me, there was condensation and it wasn’t hot. The Bloody Mary was excellent. I’d go back and sit at the bar (if in fidi) but not for the food. Meh.

Took a while to get seated even with a 5:30 reservation but it was worth the wait. Shared 3 small sized plates, and a main between 2 and that was plenty of food. Didn’t need dessert but the sticky pudding for two we had was delicious! Attentive service and food was served at the right pace with barely any wait time. They check in with you to see if you’re ready also. A great experience. Order the quail and and the carrots with razor clams!

Everything was perfect about the meal but we did feel like we were being moved a long too quickly. We had to ask the server to bring out our dishes a little more slowly. Instead of getting 5 dishes at once. We ask for 3 and then 2 and then the final 2. We love to come here. The food is amazing.

Tasty food, and maybe our server just had an off day, but he broke a glass on a guest next to us and didn't give us nearly enough attention. I could have drank at least another glass of wine had he been more attentive. That said...he saved us money! Delicious food though so we'll return and give it another shot when we are in the city.

I took my wife to brunch here for her birthday. The place is quite beautiful. They have a nice big open kitchen. The hostess, and our waiter were very friendly. The food was pretty fantastic. We ate the French toast and the biscuit with eggs. Also had a cocktail which was newly added to the drink menu and was pretty great tasting- The Genevere CROWN. We wanted to have a dessert which looks like cream filled churros, but our waiter informed us that the dessert we wanted was only available for dinner. So we passed on the dessert and will definitely come back some day for dinner. Even though we passed on the dessert, the waiter still brought out a cream filled donut dessert with a lit candle in celebration of my wife’s birthday which was incredibly nice. And that donut tasted pretty awesome too!

Great food and ambiance. Waiter was good but was very transactional. When you are spending $ to have great food in an attractive setting, you are also looking for the full experience. Wait staff help to provide that if done right.

Crown shy is a great addition to the neighborhood, especially for weekend brunch. The ambiance is great. Beautiful space, open and airy. A few of the brunch items we tasted from the menu were definitely high quality food. We will come back and try dinner soon.
