Great meal and service. Only problem was we felt rushed to leave in the end as the next sitting hovered over us (literally) while we finished up!

The $20 hamburger was very dry and tough. The french fries were not hot, and sat very heavy in my stomach.

The operation is more about moving people through quickly than creating a comfortable dining experience. Instead of allowing families and friends to dine at their leisure as most restaurants do, instead they give you a time limit . You are given a time slot (ours was 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) during which you must arrive, order your drinks and meal, and finish it up and then give up the table. This in itself, while not customer-focused, was not the biggest problem. The biggest problem was how they dealt with some of our party being twenty minutes late. They must have approached us four times in that twenty minutes, and in an extremely rude and abrupt manner -- insisting that we order (more than the drinks we already had) before our group was complete. I am not sure what their panic was about as we still had loads of time to order and eat our meals at 6:50 p.m. We are talking a glorified hamburger joint here, with cafeteria style tables, not fine dining! Our table was complete at 6:52 p.m. and we ordered shortly after. The food arrived quickly, reflecting the care put into it! We ate, and could not even enjoy our meal without being interrupted several times to be reminded that we had to be out at 8:30 p.m. -- at 7:40 p.m. they became frantic about us finishing up. We finished by 8 p.m., in loads of time. Many tables around us were empty (about 40% empty restaurant) yet they were acting like we were squatters who needed to be kicked out!

Then I saw why! They must have told everybody to come at the same time to create the illusion of popularity, and a line up! There must have been 25 people all arrive in the span of 15 minutes. It was mayhem with people in a crowded line up that was completely unavoidable.

This restaurant should study operations management and customer service to provide a relaxing experience. They should also be polite, not rude.

The Group (Fistful 0 'Diddley) playing was amazing. The food delicious but overpriced for sure. Ambiance good. Little bit of a hassle with where our seating was. Didn't seem too flexible in seating.
Overall a good time.

Good servers and beer . Food selection a bit limited in mains and large portions but good food. Can be noisy when a band since nothing to absorb the sound.
Good times

Really enjoyed our meal and drinks at Crow - i had the Pork belly which was very flavoursome. Nice casual vibe in the restaurant, server was very nice but a bit distracted.
When we arrived at the restaurant on Saturday we were disappointed to find that the restaurant was closing later that evening for a private event. We had planned to stay for drinks after our meal to enjoy the live music and thought the restaurant could have set expectations when they phoned earlier in the day to check we were still coming. Still overall we enjoyed the night, and would happily come back to try this place again.

We were so impressed with the quality and taste of the food. Not only was the menu original and lots of variety, but you can tell that they use only the best produce and vegetables. The flavours of our dishes were fantastic and delightful!! Raven, our hostess and server was top notch. We will go back any time we are near the Collingwood area. A true gem!!

Awful experience with a reservation I made.

I reserved online for party of 8 during long weekend. I changed plans of going as things changed during the trip with the group. When I call to notify this 45 min before reservation they told me the Cancellation policy says I will be charged 20$ per each person not going (that is 20$ x 8 = 160$. They had my credit card -was reqd for reservations- and reminded me that and they will charge it even tho I said I was not able to go previously).

So, I had to go with half group (the only ones able to go) . Once there and having dinner total of 160$ Manager told us we were going to be charged extra 20$ for the 4 people missing (20$ x 2 = 40$). ANNOYING< AWFUL and uncomfortable. Definitively not going anymore or recommending it.

A good downtown Collingwood lunch venue right on main intersection block. Menu offerings were plentiful and thoughtful. Their warm beet soup was delicious as were the Korean Fried Chicken Wings. Accommodating towards children ( they have a dedicated kids menu..) and the snuggly banquette with throws and blankets a very nice touch. This venue offers a full local music scene so it looks like fun for adults to come hang out and hear live music.

This is a above average restaurant. However, they do not honour the Open Table cheque’s. I presented the check before ordering to a bewildered server. Only after we had ordered and had into a bottle of wine did the manager come to our table to tell me that they do not honour the checks. The reason? Their bank does not accept the checks. I know for a fact there are more than one banks in Collingwood. Also ironic that on the front of the Open Table check it is written “redeemable at any open table restaurant in Canada”. Problem! NOT TRUE The restaurant should not be taking reservations through Open Table if they do not honour the program.

The manager called OpenTable and we spoke to Jeff who would not give is last name or employee number. He was unwilling to help in any way. Kept telling me it’s not his problem and I can always send back the cheque to have my points reinstated. How does that make sense?

Overall a horrible experience both with the restaurant and OpenTable

My advice, stay clear of Crow Bar & Variety and ask any restaurant at time of booking if they will accept the cheque’s

What’s the point of this program if the restaurant doesn’t accept the cheque’s?

We had the potpie pappardelle and the house smoked meat - both very tasty with good portions. The menu is short and changes regularly. They have many local beers to choose from and a short but varied wine list - something for everyone!

Cozy setting with great live music. We stumbled upon this place on a snowy winter weeknight. The place cleared out once the music set wrapped up, which gave us time to chat over our dessert. Worth a visit! Staff are friendly and attentive.

I had an awful experience at this restaurant recently, everything was a money grab and the service was terrible!

Upon walking in for our reservation (for 6 guests) we were told there was a cover charge of $10 per person. I was upset having not been told this at booking. I made the reservation online first and there was a management note about a $20 charge per person if you cancelled without enough notice, no note about cover. Then I called in and made a guest count change to the reservation, again no mention of a cover charge.
My friends and I decided to pay the $10/person ($60 for our table) just to have dinner because we hoped the evening would exceed our expectations as the reasoning was "the band is making us charge". As a note to the management: no, the band isn't making you charge your guests, if you want to book and band at your space you should pay for it!

When we sat down, our table was incredibly drafty as we were seated next to a big (beautiful) window. Luckily they had blankets around to help with the cold. This was probably the only piece I enjoyed.

Our server was not that friendly at all, and after looking at the most basic menu I was very disappointed that we had paid so much to get in. Everyone at our table ended up ordering the burger, and every burger we received at the table was cooked differently. Mine was under cooked and my friend next to me had char all around the edges.

When we got our bills, two of my friends had requested the Gluten Free bun. There was a $3 charge for this added to their bills which was never mentioned by the server or noted on the menu (right on the menu it says next to the burger that Gluten Free options are available, and there is no indication of a price increase). The burgers were $20 each by the way!

Overall, I would never recommend this restaurant unless you want to over pay for a bad experience.

Great night!! Open Mile is awesome !! Such wonderful talent in the area and around!! Food was again delicious and interesting!! We just need a better taxi system or Uber to get people out and about to help the restaurant scene and the people that want to patronize them. Not to mention the staff and crew who work so hard to make a living in this area and have no place to live or no way to get home if they can find a place to live that is affordable!!!!! Wake up people pay attention to this!! It’s a crisis!!!
