Crooked Oak Tavern
First time here for my moms birthday. Had bbq chicken and it was amazing. Service is quick and unobtrusive. Will definitely go again and again!
We wanted to try something different and not go into Myrtle. We came across this by chance and decided to give a try. Are we glad we did. We loved the food - true crab cakes that we are accustomed to. Dessert was so good. Creme brûlée was one of the best I have ever tasted (my bar is the Four Seasons). Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back and plan to make this our Friday night spot when we are in Conway.
Our server Caleb was very attentive and professional. The food was exceptional and the price was great for the quality. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area. I will also be recommending this restaurant to people.
Service was great. Food was good, especially the bread pudding! The only complaint I have is that you didn't have white zinfandel on the wine list! My husband is from Maryland and said the crab cakes were pretty good.
Have been there a number of times now. Food and service are always excellent. One of those places you have mixed blessings about. Want to share with everyone you know any yet hide away for yourself.
We love going to Crooked Oak! The atmosphere is great and the food is even better! Our tables favorite was the Pork Chop! The glaze on top was robust in flavor! We had to get their bread pudding of course and like always it never disappoints!
A gem of a restaurant! Service was great (Nick) and good food! We will be back!
Great food, great atmosphere. Well worth a trip to Conway
Very good meal! Steaks seasoned and cooked perfectly! We’ll be back!
I was looking for somewhere different to try while staying in Myrtle Beach. After reading reviews from other Open Table subscribers we decided to give Crooked Oak Tavern a try. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and our server was attentive and nice. I apologize for not remembering her name. Please don't change anything about your food preparation.
Food was excellent, service was outstanding, our party of 6 had a great experience. My personal opinion was a bit pricey that would prevent me from making this a regular dining experience versus an occasional one. Another great option for dining in Conway!!!
Thank you for vegetarian options!!! Portabello was delicious. Loved the new York strip.
Everything from the soup to the dessert was delicious! Prepared perfectly!
Andrew was our server and he was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Amazing food, service and ambiance. We will definitely be back!
Celebrated my birthday with my sons at The Crooked Oak Tavern. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable. The restaurant is small but cozy.
Our dinner was absolutely wonderful! We will be back again.
We were pleasantly surprised with the Crooked Oak Tavern. Staff was professional but friendly with a sense of humor. Out meals were outstanding. Two of us ordered the grouper special that was prepared very tastefully and was a fresh catch from local waters. My husband had a steak special with blueberry sauce that he was very happy with. Another meal ordered was the flounder coated in a dijon mustard coating that he liked very much. Sides were tasteful from that garlic mashed potatoes. jasmine rice and seasonal veggies. My husband and I shared the chocolate cake with raspberry that was a wonderful end to a delightful meal. Out waiter (asst. manager) was professional yet with a sense of humor and very knowledgeable regarding the menu. We will definitely be going back to the Crooked Oak Tavern.
Outstanding food and service. Everything prepared fresh and tasted exceptional. Staff took extra care for our food allergy concerns. I was highly impressed with their efforts. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Strongly recommend if you’re looking for something above and beyond - without paying the crazy extra price.
Great food. Manager is very involved with patrons.
We loved our experience at Crooked Oak! This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food was excellent and the wait staff was very attentive. We had two children at dinner as well and they loved the food. They also really enjoyed the neat hallway with stores and the train bell. I highly recommend eating here.
It had a hometown vibe, delicious food and a beautiful setting. We’re vacationing and shared our experience with others at the swimming pool, and they had the same great experience.
Our group of five included four people for whom this was their first visit. All said they would be back. Several of us had the strawberry arugala salad which we all thought was fabulous. The burger was also moist and flavorful. This restaurant is a wonderful addition to Conway!
Grouper & Scallop special was good. Crab cakes are still the best. Ribs were disappointing. Second visit in 2 weeks just to give it another try. Nice spot in Conway!
Our second time there and just as good as the first. On this occasion, there were 4 of us, everything that we ordered was delicious and service was excellent.
This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat and the best Crab Cakes you can find. We took some friends last night- one for the first time. The big disappointment for a couple of people at my table was the restaurant was out of items such as chicken wings and an item for one of the salads. The waThe waitress didn't address this up front- so disappointing. They were nice and my food as usual was wonderful so hopefully next time the owner will be back and all items on the menu will be available. The grouper bite app and the fried macaroni were very good. One of Conway's best places to eat.
The food was so fresh and tasty! The grilled peach salad was superb. My husband had ribs and they were very meaty and flavorful. My neighbor, a life long South Carolinian said the shrimp & grits were the best she had ever had in a restaurant! I loved how the told us where the beef came from for the steak we had - Loris. Highly recommend this place.
First time visit by our party of four. We all were really pleased by the food, service and atmosphere. Going to add the Crooked Oak Tavern to our list of most favorite area restaurants.
My family of six went to the Crooked Oak Tavern for my daughters birthday this past Friday. We went early so it wasn't very busy but it filled up as we had our meal. Our servers name was Paula and she was excellent. She was especially attentive to my wife allergies (soy & wheat gluten). We were given a complimentary order of Old & Dirty Myrtle Fries as an appetizer as this was our first time there. Delicious!
Everyone throughly enjoyed their main courses. I had the crab cakes which were some of the very best I've ever had (the owner is from Maryland). My wife had the shrimp & grits and she to said they were amongst the best she has had. My son in laws ribeye was done perfectly and the birthday girl had a fantastic fillet mignon. My 9 year old grandson "loved" his burger :-). Lastly, we had Creme Brûlée and cheesecake for dessert.
Bottom line, just go, you will love it. The food was awesome (did I mention it is Farm to Table?). The service was exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. We all had a great night at the Crooked Oak.
My husband and I both ordered the specials for the evening; Tri-tip steak served with a blackberry sauce and the grilled Grouper with a mango sauce. Excellent meals that we would order again. The accompanying sides were equally delicious. We ordered 2 appetizers: fried green tomatoes, and the fried mac n cheese balls. The mac n cheese balls were wonderful, hot, crisp and full of sharp cheddar. The fried green tomatoes were good, but the tomato lacked the tang we love. That was no fault of the preparation, but just the tomato itself. Josey, our server was personable and attentive. We would definitely recommend the Crooked Oak Tavern to our friends.
First time at restaurant for lunch and had prime rib sandwich lunch special which was delicious. We took neighbors who agreed that sandwich and fries where delicious, waitress was attentive, atmosphere was nice for lunch; but acoustics could get loud. Both couples plan on returning again. Food is locally sourced as much as possible which appeals to all of us. As with most of Conway (not fault of restaurant) parking can be a challenge. Price for lunch moderate and a nice menu selection. Manager and staff very pleasant.
Everything was OUTSTANDING, specifically, the shrimp & grouper.
Never had a bad meal! Food is farm to table and always delicious!
Nice little place....food was great
I love how they locally source as much as possible and truly care about the environmental footprint. Everything was fresh and delicious!
Our server, Paula, was exceptional. We did observe a younger female server who was not acceptable and were really happy we did not get seated in her section. Everything top notch with exception of observed server and it is a bit noisy
Enjoyed the food and received excellent service. My husband had the Carolina Crunchy Dijon Flounder and I had the Strawberry Arugula salad. We found both to be delicious. Will definitely return as there are other menu items we would like to try.
I liked the restaurant, but, I wasn’t wowed! I would go back. The food was good. Service was good. Not anything special.
food was a little slow getting to our table. onoins on my sandwich were burned also bacon on the tips were burned.
