Chef Hakan is a second-generation baker who learned his craft in his uncle's bakery in Istanbul. His love for baking started out with making pastries and sourdough bread at first.

Hit by a pizza obsession later on, similar to Anatolian flatbread, Chef Hakan studied, experimented, and observed various pizza-making methods. He participated in pizza expos, visited pizza restaurants, and tasted different styles of pizza around the world until buying a nice wood-fired pizza oven and creating his own recipe.

Then time came for Hakan to open up his restaurant. Previously known as Napa Baking Company is now serving in Napa as Croccante. Chef Hakan offers long-fermented Pan-style Detroit and Chicago thin tavern style pizza.

Croccante currently holds an award from 50 top pizza, as one of the 50 top pizzerias in USA in the "excellent" category as well as a nomination by SF Chronicle as One of the Top Pizzerias in the Bay Area.

Another delicious Detroit style pizza. Try the Greek Veggie with the red sauce…YUMMERS! And the burrata arugula was decadent. Our server, Chad, is the best. It’s our go to pizza place in Napa.

Croccante’s food is just delicious. We had fabulous wings, salad, both the Detroit style pizza and the thin crust Chicago style. All just perfect!! And the wine list is good too. Chad our server was helpful, kind , and knowledgeable. Great experience!

Croccante never disappoints. The Eggs Benedict were on point, and the thin crust pizzas—both dine-in and to-go—were as delicious as ever. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere had that usual lively energy we love. Always a solid choice

A cute brunch place. It’s a pizza place too but I haven’t tried that part of their menu. Looking forward to our next visit. We especially enjoyed the pancakes and french toast with fresh fruit.

We had reservations but didn’t need them on a Saturday past noon. The person who greeted us and our server had great customer service. It was a bit loud but food and experience was great!!

This is a hard review to write. I love Crocante and always bring people here because the service and food are amazing. Sadly, today the food outshined the service. We were a party of two and when I sat down the server wanted to take my food order, I said we will take water and chicken wings and that I would wait to order pizzas for my friend to arrive. The sever seemed to be annoyed with that response, read through body language. My friend arrives, The wings come out, and we ask for our water. A few minutes later we had to ask again, for our first cup of water. We finish the wings(that were originally taken to another table, and they walked to 6 tables asking if they ordered these wings, I finally spoke up and said I think they are ours.) , and 1 cup of water. Server came by and asked if we wanted more water, we say yes, we were eating wings….He walks away and doesn’t come back for a long while. Another server comes by and asked if if we are ready to order our meals, and again I ask for a water refill. (At this point I think I am on a hidden camera show, as the table next to me was asking for the same thing, they got food before their drinks, the server couldn’t remember what the had.) Then 25 minutes later the original person comes back asking what we ordered, an we told him we hadn’t ordered yet, but would love to. We did. 2 broccolini and sausage pizzas, one Gf. So yummy! All the food was absolutely amazing. The service was not as thorough as we have had in the past. I know they were busy, but even a carafe of water at tables would keep customers happy, especially on a hot day or when eating wings. It may have been a busy day, 80+ degrees, but drinks really should come out before the food. We ordered ranch and they charged us $3.00. Not worth the price for that small container. I do hope this was an off day. I will update this review when I go back, and things are different.
