Chef and owner Frank Crispo opened Crispo Restaurant in the heart of Chelsea and the West Village in the summer of 2002.

Our 150 seats create a lively, warm and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy our signature Northern Italian cuisine.

We were nominated in 2002 for "Best New Restaurant" by Time Out magazine, and received an award for "Best Spaghetti Carbonara" by New York Magazine in 2004.

Food is not our only passion. Our extensive wine list covers the major regions of Italy and several other countries beyond. For enthusiasts, we have a full bar stocked with grappa, amaros, aperitifs and digestifs.

Come join us for dinner in our main dining room, or in our outdoor garden space. It remains open year long. With this newest addition to Crispo Restaurant you will truly feel like you are not in New York.

What Insiders Are Saying

The Infatuation
7.7

An old Infatuation favorite, Crispo is still hanging tough like Keith Richards' internal organs. Come for great pastas, salumi, and a solid wine list.

Ratings 7.5-8.0:These are restaurants that are reliable, tasty, and particularly good for whatever we have deemed them “Perfect For.” Hit up a 7.7 for Date Night with confidence, as long as you don’t need the restaurant to be the most interesting thing that happens that night.

I've been to crispo many times. I love it. The pasta carbonara there is some of the best I've ever had. I always recommend Crispo's and take people there all the time

Great experience all around. Only complaint Cappacino not hot and to much foam.

Honestly, I never do reviews. But I am so in love with Crispo! Since I've discovered it randomly via open table, I've gone over a handful of times and always recommend it for friends. Date night, get togethers, going alone - it's always amazing!

Everything is delicious! Homemade pastas to homemade deserts! It is a perfect place for large groups. It can be a little noisy but totally worth it.

Hadn't been to Crispo for a while and were happily surprised to rediscover it! A diverse menu with something for everyone, well-prepared, well-priced and well served. The garden, though a bit loud, was a delightful spot for a warm evening. It's back on the list!

Been going to Crispo for over 10 years but the food has become mediocre and overpriced. $23 for burnt garlic bread with some mozzarella is just highway robbery. Will not be back.

My girlfriend and I had a blast here. The garlic bread is insanely good and decadent and a must-get. I had it days ago and am still thinking about it. The pasta was fresh and rich and just delicious. The ambience was fun. The cocktail menu was brief but effective. You'll like it, just go.

Overall what we ate was delicious. But I do have a couple of complaints. We went there to celebrate a birthday and was told they had a very pretty garden room, which apparently was closed. So without the garden room the rest of the restaurant is just rows of tables lined up and a little crowded. We are not big eaters. We would prefer to not get massive portions. But for what we paid, we thought we got very little food. We ordered the zucchini flowers appetizer, which was literally three bitefuls. My son ordered the spaghetti carbonara, which he said was good, but for a skinny guy, he was able to finish it easily. My daughter and I shared the seared branzini, which was delicious, but only came with like 2-1/2 brussels sprouts which were definitely undercooked (and I absolutely prefer them slightly undercooked to overcooked but this was barely cooked). There was no starchy vegetable or grain served with it, and the bread they brought out before the meal was cold and plain (no herbed olive oil for dipping). For dessert the cheesecake was very good and they put a candle in as requested, but the American coffee was just too much coffee to water (and I usually drink italian roast). So overall I would say it was good, not great.

Server was great, apps and pasta plates were too. our entries unfortunately were not: pork chop was too dry and the hangar steak was drenched in sauce. the vibe was great though and our servers recommendations on app's and wine were spot-on; we should've listened to her on the entrees as well!

The pasta and prosecco was great. Our server was sweet and accommodating. Fettucini alfredo is not on the menu, but the server said it would be no problem making it for me. The ambiance is a bit more intimate and dark. Would come back!

Amazing wood fired garlic bread and fresh pasta! If you can’t decide on a pasta, ask for half portions and get two!
