Chef and owner Frank Crispo opened Crispo Restaurant in the heart of Chelsea and the West Village in the summer of 2002.

Our 150 seats create a lively, warm and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy our signature Northern Italian cuisine.

We were nominated in 2002 for "Best New Restaurant" by Time Out magazine, and received an award for "Best Spaghetti Carbonara" by New York Magazine in 2004.

Food is not our only passion. Our extensive wine list covers the major regions of Italy and several other countries beyond. For enthusiasts, we have a full bar stocked with grappa, amaros, aperitifs and digestifs.

Come join us for dinner in our main dining room, or in our outdoor garden space. It remains open year long. With this newest addition to Crispo Restaurant you will truly feel like you are not in New York.

Crispy has a varied menu for fish, meat and pasta lovers. Food was wonderfully prepared and service was warm and efficient. We sat in the “Garden area” which was closed off for the season and the ambiance was lovely: a fire, a fountain and beautiful ironwork. I would recommend the truffle coated salmon although the grilled bronzino and pasta carbonara my friends ordered were also first rate. This was our first time here and we’ll be back for sure

Recommend the Pork Shank special with maple-jalepeno glaze. Sitting in the Garden always provides a great atmosphere.

My husband and I had a date night at Crispo. This was our first time dining at this restaurant. We enjoyed the ambiance and the service was impeccable. Our server timed out the courses perfectly and knew just when we needed a new drink or the check. We had the Arancini, which was pretty good, but the sauce was a bit thinner than I prefer. Then we got the garlic bread. Wow, it was amazing. I ordered the Carbonara and my husband had a special with Lobster and Scallops. Both dishes were delicious. Overall, it was a great experience.

I ate at this restaurant twice in 3 days - once with friends before a Broadway show, two nights later with my family and friends to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. It was absolutely great. Food was exceptional, the service excellent. My only complaint was that on Saturday night, it was really noisy - but that's pretty normal for American restaurants. I can't say enough good things about Crispo!

We were in nyc for dinner and show (party of 4). Show started at 8pm, so we made 6pm reservations to allow for enough time. This was our 5th time at Crispo and by far our least favorite experience...
We sat in the Garden and were sat right away. Waitress took about 15min before she even acknowledged our presence. She took our order and only came back when it was time to pay. Other servers came to serve our food/drink and clear our plates, which took forever... No one ever came to the table to ask if we needed anything or how our meal was... It took an awkwardly loud "Excuse me" to a nearby waitress (who was on point with her tables) to get another round of drinks and another awkwardly loud "Excuse me" to our waitress (when she finally showed her face at a nearby table that was just sat) to get coffee and the check... We barely made the show on time...
Tables are took close to one another... We overheard one of our waitresses other tables (who were sat about the same time of us) complaining, "Service is ridiculously slow tonight. Everything is taking forever..." (We couldn't agree more...)
Food was great (as usual)...
Ambiance was nice (cozy feel with charming vintage decor)...
Price is reasonable for downtown...
Service was poor... Waitress was not rude, just paid us no attention

Ate here with my partner who’s parents were in town... They love Italian, but aren’t into a “scene”, so I figured this unassuming spot would be perfect. I wasn’t wrong! They absolutely loved it, as did everyone else at the table. The food was simple, yet delicious! The pastas were nearly perfect; we ordered the carbonara, the orrichiete, and the bucatini. All so so good. We also ordered some of the specials/proteins, which rounded out the meal nicely. This place is great for sharing everything, can’t recommend family style enough if dining with a larger group. All in all, a wonderful authentic Italian experience without any of the trendy upscale fuss.

This is one of my favorite restaurants near Chelsea. The atmosphere is so cozy and the food is amazing! I highly recommend the garlic bread to start and the creme brulee to finish. I haven't had anything that I have not loved here! If you make a reservation make sure to request to be seated in the back room - there's a beautiful glass roofed "courtyard" with an amazing fire place! Great for a date night or group dinner!

The food was amazing. Server was very knowledgable. Love that they offer 1/2 orders of the pasta so we could try a number of dishes. The firewood bread was a fav! The chocolate pot and crème brûlée duet was delish. The only thing we would change next time... we would ask for a table away from the bar. We had dinner reservations at 8:30. We sat at a small table for two on the side of the bar. For most of the meal we had the backsides of people at the bar joining in our meal.

I had made reservations several weeks earlier yet when we arrived, we were seated in a side hallway with two service doors on either side so staff was constantly in and out. Very disruptive to the meal. It truly felt like we were sitting in a hallway. The food was very good but service was mediocre at best. We sat so long waiting for our bill to be picked up that I finally had to flag down a hostess. I would go back for the food but not overall experience.
