Crispo Ratings and Reviews
This is a fun and lively Italian dining spot with delicious food and good wine menu. The cocktails are interesting and TASTY --AS ARE THE SMALL PLATES. :-) We would definitely recommend the zucchini flowers, the bursts with figs, the Mussels and clams in white sauce. For main course you can choose from meats or fish. We each ordered a pasta dish and were thrilled with our choices.
They allow you to add prosciutto to any dish! An excellent feature that my husband took advantage of. The desserts were yummy. Bottom line you need to show up hungry!! We definitely recommend a visit to Crispo!
We were greeted by a very professional young man who offered to check our coats and seated us promptly. Rice ball appetizer was one of the best I've tasted. Pasta, Broccoli Raab and sausage was prepared to perfection. The wine list is not extensive but offers a nice selection. The wait staff was attentive and the service was excellent. The only negative was as we were finishing our espresso and cordials the waitress placed the check on the table. I politely explained that we would like to have another cordial and that in an establishment like Crispo the check should NEVER be presented until the customer asks for it. I would certainly return to Crispo; it was a wonderful experience.
Not only did I make a very last minute reservation for a group of 6, but I also requested that we be seated in their most quiet area. Crispo was BEYOND accommodating. The service was superb, as well as the food. Our water glasses were never empty. We dine out a lot in NYC and have very high expectations, and we picked Crispo for its convenient location for our out-of-town visitors. We didn't expect our meal to be so special, but everything was really marvelous. I hate ordering salmon at restaurants, because I eat it a lot at home and find that even when we eat out, no one can make it unordinary, but my fiance's salmon was the stand-out dish at our table.
My second visit and I wasn't dissappointed. This time tried the baratta with figs and walnuts and mixed olives for appetizer and spaghetti carbonara for dinner. It was wonderful! Also tried a few bites of my daughters butternut tortellini and mom's short rib ravioli. Each dish had a very unique flavor and all were delicious. Can't wait to go back!
Early Sunday night dinner with wife and daughter. Wait staff totally professional and very attentive. Spilt apps and entries and they were all over it with sharing plates and silverware. All our food was excellent and served hot. Would recommend and diffently go back
Fun energetic place with great food. Come with a group of people to share the great food, too many to choose from if you come with a small group. A bit noisy at times, but then you don't have to worry about upsetting the table next to you with your loud laughter. Service was very attentive without being pushy. Yes, I will return!
Crispo was recommended to us by our friends so we thought we would give it a try. It was an amazing dinner. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was fantastic. My husband had the truffle mozzarella ravioli and my stepson had the lamb chops and said they were the best he ever had. For dessert we ordered the zepoles and the walnut chocolate chip cookies. They were good but nothing special. The cappuccinos were great too. I’d definitely come back here when we come back to NY.
Disappointed that the food and drink were only mediocre despite excellent reviews from other diners. The entire meal was somewhat flavorless, which they overcompensated for with excess salt (unfortunately realized that later). Service was prompt but insincere, dismissive and slightly passive aggressive when my date mispronounced a word on the menu. I would not bother going back here again.
What a treat! We intended to order more but ended up just getting the ricotta ravioli pomodoro and the bucatini amatriciana which were both tasty. We split the creme brûlée/chocolate pot de creme - definitely worth the calories. We were able to sit out on the back patio which was lovely and quite charming. If we’re in the neighborhood I will absolutely make the effort to go back!
