We've wanted to have dinner at Crispin since it opened - their Instagram updates are so tempting! Finally made it on Saturday - arrived at 6pm and it was already busy, felt welcomed and the restaurant was buzzy but not too loud. We went for the 'one of everything' option, which arrives in pairs of dishes - excellent if you plan to spend the evening eating away! Each dish was delicious (rainbow carrots with hazelnuts and hake broth were my favourites) and the format of two at a time stopped anything getting cold. Would have liked to stay for dessert, but we had to rush off to catch a train. A perfect place for dinner if you like sharing plates and want to spend the evening relaxing and being fed in this uniquely designed restaurant.
Went for the 'one of everything' which is like a tasting menu but with the option to leave out courses/ add extras. Made things really easy and we loved every plate especially the pasta. Had a good chat with the chef afterwards who seems genuinely passionate about what they are doing. Only complaint was that the music was quite loud.
Delicious dinner and lovely low key atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would go there again tomorrow!
Food is a bit on the salty side. Some dishes really stand out and some are just average. However the cost/performance is impeccable. Would come back for small gathering. Would like to try the breakfast too.
Fantastic menu, great service. We tried food we wonder usually order, and it was delicious!
Great Dusty Knuckle bread and knockout smoked butter.
Homemade ravioli too was a treat
Nice size plates and good wines by the glass for £6-8
Great food and great service. Very good vibe and selection of food
Great food, amazing cocktails and brilliant staff - will definitely go back again!
I had been wanting to come here for ages after a friend had recommended. The food was good. Quite quiet so good for a nice quiet catch up with a friend. just a short wander from liverpool street.
Had a fantastic time and the food was great, particularly the fennel and the pasta dish. Only small criticism is that the service was a little bit fast! Henry cooked us some lovely food and took the time to come over and say hello which was a nice touch.
Have already recommended to friends. Overall great experience.
Thoroughly enjoyable dinner here provided by folks who care about food. Friendly and efficient service; interesting and well seasoned dishes; fun non-alcoholic offerings; charitable efforts with the water provision. I'll be back. Particularly memorable: burrata, soft, unctuous and enlivened with fiery black pepper, sea salt and tasty olive oil; squid (perhaps just ever so slightly the wrong side of cooked) with warming and moreish n'duja broth (don't forget the spoons!); parpadelle with heaps of Parmesan and butternut squash. Menu changes weekly. Thanks team!
Amazing food!! Second time at Crispin and would come back again.
Delicious food and a weekly changing menu. Would recommend the one of everything between 2!
The food was excellent. Different tastes. We had the “bit of everything” and it was special.
Service was very friendly and attentive . It is a small place with, out of necessity, limited number of staff. They were excellent.
Healthy variety of wine with a good price point.
We really enjoyed and it’s worth a try .
The restaurant appears to be owned and run by enthusiastic people who are putting imagination into their creations. They deserve a visit .
Small and friendly, simple tasty dishes and a clean angular architecture to match. If you can start with a Picon bierre you're almost always onto a winner. Have one of everything, yes its an option, and its great value and great victual. After five plates you don't think you have space for the beef ragu, but then you taste it and you quickly find that you do!
Outstanding food, service and atmosphere! Will definitely be back!
An amazing culinary experience. Enjoyed every bit of it.
We went for a dinner on a week when they had a guest chef Dan Wilson. We booked the table however when we arrived the table was not ready, so we waited a little bit. We went for a full menu - “A little bit of everything” for £49 - and it took 50min to receive the bread&butter. The table who came 20 min after us was served before us, so I was wondering if they have forgotten about us or run out of bread?!
The food is a bit pretentious but not particularly tasty.
Straciatella and cured ham - were good.
Carrots with black bread - was interesting but I wouldn’t eat it again.
Pasta with roast drippings was absolutely bland.
Lamb ribs were a bit too over cooked / over fried.
I usually order a dessert every time but after the mains I had no desire to try anything more.
Came here last night with my partner and had a lovely time. The "one of everything"option was perfect for the two of us and at a really good price. Staff were informative and recommended a great wine! Will be back for sure. Thanks!
Delicious food and great service in an awesome setting. Menu is small but changes weekly and even has the option to order the whole menu which is great if you’re wanting to try it all. Will be back and would recommend to others.
Lovely meal from visiting chef. Service casual but friendly and I particularly enjoyed the Champetre by the glass.
Fantastic food, excellent wine and great value. Go for the 'one of everything' perfect for a great evening. I would highly recommend!
The food was good, some of it was actually great (the pasta and the dessert)
The price is also good value.
The floor staff could be better, it took several minutes for them to acknowledge us although they saw us and the place is so tiny we were just standing in the middle of the entrance. When they tried to be friendly it was a bit forced and weird, almost as if they thought they were too cool to wait tables.
There was a large group hanging and drinking at the entrance and that made the place loud and noisy.
