Crimson & Rye
Food was actually disgusting (had mac and cheese and pulled pork sliders). There was no bathroom, service was extremely slow.
Interesting experience. Not really a dinner restaurant. It’s a place to meet friends over drinks and interesting snacks. The Kobe beef sliders were amazing.
I have been here several times now, and the drinks do not disappoint. The beverages are all hand-crafted, and the bartenders are absolute artists. It's fascinating to watch them! This was the first time I sat at a table, and I'm sorry to say, that waitress was very inattentive. I don't think they have a typical set up with service, because she was also playing hostess. Either way, I will come back for the delicious drinks and awesome bartenders, but I will stick to my barstool seat instead.
varied and eclectic drink menu. Well constructed, attentively served.
Went to Crimson & Rye for Friday-after-work drinks with a few friends. The place looks great and was filled with nice-looking folks who were having a good time. We had a reservation, were seated promptly, and we ordered drinks and food. The food showed up, but it took 30 minutes for the first drink to show up-- there were four of us and each drink showed up five minutes after the last (the server offered to pay for the fourth drink.) We ordered another round of drinks and food and although it was tasty and on-time, it was very clear that the bartender and cooks had changed shifts. The oddest part, by far, is that in order to use the bathroom, one must head into the main lobby of the Lipstick Building to be escorted to the basement by a security guard, who waits in the elevator and escorts you back to the main lobby.
All in all, it was a pleasant but inconsistent experience.
Crimson & Rye seems like a great spot for people who work in the building or if you're stopping in for a pre-commute drink.
Super odd that the restrooms are in a separate building.
We went for a drink and bite one night. The server was super nice, and the martini was great! We had the pretzel and dip. Yum! We will be back. Who doesn't like a warm, freshly baked pretzel with dipping sauces served with a smile :)
Came here on a Saturday night and it was pretty quiet- I was 1 of 10 people in the whole place. I'm sure its more popular during the week, after work, seeing it is in the heart of Midtown East. But regardless, food and drinks were still delicious and service was great. I would come back again, but definitely on a week day.
Really cool space and ambience. Noise level was quiet which was really nice - could actually hold a conversation with my family. Drinks were delicious! Had some of the apps - sliders were soooo good! Would definitely come back!
This place was walking distance from our hotel at Wyndham Midtown 45. It has amazing cocktails. The server was great at recommending the right drinks, depending on what you like. The truffle popcorn is to die for. They have great Happy Hour deals as well. Loved the sliders and tacos. Must try the pretzels. Only thing I didn't like is he kept rushing us whenever we tried to put in an order, and he didn't give us a heads up when the kitchen was closing. I was bummed that I didn't get to order another truffle popcorn.
