Such an amazing setting! But the food/service from our experience was quite disappointing. Took over 30 minutes to get a menu, waited 30+ minutes between courses and a couple of the courses were absolute salt bombs. The staid was very friendly and the trout tartar was outstanding!
Wonderful three course menu
Our table was right next to a waterfall on the creek. Although the weather was chilly, we were warm seated next to a heat lamp. My husband loved the duck fritters for the first course and I loved the melon dish. The dishes were artfully presented. The wait staff was courteous and helpful. The main courses, steak and Cornish game hen were equally delightful, and the desserts, sorbet and a corn dish were perfect. Great place to eat!
We choose the 3 course prefix meal. The food was prepared with culinary excellence. I had the sirloin which was prepared fabulous. My wife had the duck breast which was extraordinary. The desserts were to die for. I had the PB&J. A real memorable meal. The service was exemplary.
Everything from the service to the ambience was perfect. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
We liked sitting by the creek but we thought the meal was not worth the money.
Very dark riverside dining is not for everyone. Neither is the asparagus and burrata appetizer, in fact in the darkness it was just an untasty mess complete with a handful of puffed rice that honestly looked like maggots had gotten into my food.
Everything else was very good - definitely the largest scallops I’ve ever seen, from the “mind of the chef” (same seafood special in two weeks).
The steep fixed price makes me want to criticize Cress, I can’t help it.
Beautiful oasis in the high desert! EVERYTHING was top shelf. Look forward to a future return.
excellent and romantic setting - service forgetful and a bit patchy on a busy evening - food was terrific
Beautiful setting on the banks of Oak Creek. An elegant but under stated dining room. The three course offering was just the right amount -- each was exquisite in presentation and flavors. The scallops were seared with a crust yet melted in one's mouth; the poached lobster equally delicious. Our server Michael was the perfect combination of attentive and deferential. A wonderful dining experience for a first visit to Sedona; one of our best restaurant meals ever, anywhere.
Exquisite meal and experience. Perfect culinary balance in each dish. Extremely knowledgeable waiter , both about the food and the wine choices . We wish we had been there in daylight to see the creek, but the dining room was very nice regardless.
The only reason for 4 stars in value is simply that $95 per person for 3 courses is simply expensive , even though the quality is excellent .. but then , maybe I’m being to literal ...
this is a must do meal while in Sedona , and stands up to the best food in country .
Anniversary. And the servers even sang happy anniversary to us. Lovely setting. Delicious food and great service.
Lovely setting but service was poor for such an upmarket establishment, over 75 minutes for food to arrive. Wine order wrong. Came hear 7 years ago and it was excellent gone downhill since pity as very beautiful setting.
We had the pleasure of having Colby as our waiter. He was perhaps the single most outstanding waiter we have ever experienced. He was knowledgeable, helpful and really made our experience special. We opted for the full 6-course tasting menu as it was our anniversary and he helped us customize it to make it perfect. Being a sommelier, Colby helped suggest and pair the perfect wines to our dishes giving us each a unique and special experience. The food was amazing, the location, view and ambiance top notch, but Colby really put the icing on the cake with his exceptional service. Highly recommend Cress on Oak Creek to anyone interested in a culinary treat.
Spectacular fixed-price meal. Each course had terrific options. The setting was perfect, as was the service. Truly loved it!
Wait staff and service were incredible! Food was creative and delicious
Wedding. Terrible food and over priced
Solidly good with excellent service. The food was a bit salty for my taste, but all good.
The vegetarian menu was mediocre and pricey.
Special date night for my wife and I. Food and service were 1st class. Chef is very inventive with his combinations. Best in Sedona by far.
Disappointing. The food was good but fell well short of expectations at this price level. Service was fine and met expectations. Ambiance was fine considering their need to move everything inside due to weather - nothing they can do about that.
Beautiful spot, creek sounded lovely. Great evening!
Second year in a row spending our anniversary here. Stellar service. Beautiful and romantic ambiance. Amazing food. Winning all around.
Fantastic! One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The view is unbeatable. Service was great and attentive. It was very romantic and beautiful.
But....the food was amazing. Wine was 3 times more than what you would paid in a wine shop. We ordered two 4 course meals, a bottle of wine, with the tip, total was $ 560.00. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation time and had a drink at a bar. We spent half an hour waiting and then had to go and check on the status of the reservation. They were seating outside, which would be a beautiful ambiance by the creek and among trees except that it turned really cold and windy. With a heater and a blanket, we were still freezing, as well as other guests around us. We asked to be seated inside but were told that it was not possible. It was too cold to enjoy such an expensive and good food that was getting cold on our plates rapidly. The management should have a plan B for the unpredictable season weather.
This is truly a wonderful dining experience. Beautiful setting and amazing food wonderful staff
Wonderful experience especially the great recommendations from our server, Michael. He clearly enhanced our experience
A slight glitch getting seated but food and service were excellent and more than made up for the wait. Rainbow trout farm tartare and divers scallops were outstanding. Will certainly return if we get back to Sedona.
Best atmosphere I have experienced. Will return next time in Sedona.
fantastic meal .. we celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary ... amazing
Absolutely beautiful grounds unfortunately did not feel the meal lived up to my expectation.
Two of our party had the cres salad which they thoroughly enjoyed. The jumbo asparagus and fresh barrata was enjoyable but somewhat of an odd pairing. The duck confit rolls were enjoyable but really not outstanding
Three of party had the lobster, one of which was under cooked . The seafood of the night was a scallop dish and the scallops were served lukewarm. One person also ordered the top sirloin which was cooked a perfect medium rare but unfortunately got to the table barely warm. The tenderloin was paired with mission figs and a savory onion jam which was too sweet.
We had an enjoyable lunch here earlier during our stay. I strongly recommend dining during daylight. The food was enjoyable but not at the level I was wxpwcting
The food was cold. Flavorless. Coffee was old. Ambiance was beautiful. Not worth $300 tab
Fabulous setting on Oak Creek and truly wonderful food. Very attentive service as well.
Wow this restaurant was so incredibly disappointing. I feel it’s important to know that this place is ENTIRELY outside. No option for indoor dining. It’s freezing in October and very unpleasant even with the single heater you’ll (hopefully) get for your table. We had a reservation and yet had to wait 25 minutes to get seated. Then waited another 25 minutes to just order. The only dish we liked was the asparagus appetizer. It was quite tasty. The duck confit was so dry and heavily deep fried. The scallops were terribly salty (and let me tell you I usually love salty food) and the sides were lackluster. The strawberry cheesecake dessert was just bland, boring, tasted slightly off, and being “deconstructed” absolutely didn’t help the situation. Close to $300 spent for 2 people and not worth $100. Very sad.
We were told this would be a great dining experience. As far as atmosphere and ambience it was! Our waiter was superb! The food was mediocre at best and came out cold. For a three course price fix of 99.00 the appetizer was good, main course of lobster was below par, not warm, spongy and no flavor. Sent back for reheating and still not very good. Chocolate cake for dessert lacked flavor and moisture. Almost as if it were stale. Left on plate. For four people our bill was close to 575.00. It was overpriced and you can still get the view by stopping for a drink and forget the rest!
The ambiance is gorgeous. The service was just ok. Food was good. Steak came out a little cold. Portions were a little too small.
Cress is a lovely place with wonderful food. It's great place for an anniversary or a special occasion.
This is an exceptional spot, in fact, it may be in our top 20 restaurants. We dined outdoors, literally at the waters edge. Nick brought us a cocktail, Alissa was a excellent, even sensation server, and Diane made certain we were amply refilled with water, wine, and bread. The two entrees we ordered were Artic Char, a fish much like salmon, and a daily special of scallops. The tastes were simply the best, and presentations were as well. Don’t be confused, this isn’t a restaurant for Billy Joe Bob and Daisy Mae, along with their six small kids. This Is a stunning, sophisticated spot, and we simply loved it.
Outstanding setting with food and service to match.
First time in Sedona and needed a location for an anniversary dinner. Did not disappoint.
Ambiance on the creek was superb!
Arancini appetizer was ok, but since there was just one, that may be an arancinO.
Frisee salad, delicious.
Maple Farm Duck Breast was unmarkable; verjus and fume good, but spartan. Chanterelles, sublime!
Strawberry mascarpone, semifreddo, puffed quinoa and sorbet, delectable!
Running out of espresso in the breakfast dining room was inexcusable, weddings or not, especially at a resort of this caliber that touts Illy Arabica! ;/
