We had a great time at Cress. The staff was wonderful. Paula, Douglas and Francesca made our night. The ambiance is obviously the reason to go to Cress. You can’t beat the sounds of the river and nature. Food was ok. Excellent clams, but ask for the focaccia to soak up the broth. We would go back just for the clams. The ribeye was a disappointment. For 80 bucks I expected more. Would 100% recommend Cress for the service and atmosphere.

I arrived at 7:35 and wasn’t seated until 7:50. Then, didn’t have a server come by until 8:25. So, 50 mins before I even ordered a drink or anything. I was going for my birthday and wanted to have a nice meal. I asked the server what wine she recommends and she picked the most expensive. I asked what entree I should get, again she recommended the most expensive. Then, I asked between 3 sides if the portions were large and if that would be too much and she again said to get all 3 sides. Just super tacky and very noticeably pushing the most expensive options—never asked my palate preferences or anything. The food was really amazing, I had the filet mignon with a sauce (definitely get the sauce with it), the bone marrow and toast (really good but has a slight kick to it), the creamed corn (again really good but has a kick), and then the almond cake (delish). The chefs are amazing! At night it gets really dark and there is minimal lights, so the light on your table attracts a lot of bugs and there isn’t lights near the creek—so, you just hear it but don’t see anything.

Our overall experience was poor. We had to wait to check in and were told we could not be seated till our reservation ( we were 10 minutes early). Sent to the bar and almost immediately I received a text that our table was ready. We returned to hostess stand and again had to wait to check in. Food was uninspired and service was kind but inattentive. The location was lovely, but the experience was lacking

Went for breakfast and booked to sit Creekside. Upon arrival we were asked if we wanted a table or booth and I asked why we weren’t sitting outside, they then told us the creekside dining is closed and sat us on the patio. They were power washing the creekside tables the entire time we were there. This was at 10 am, not sure why power washing is done during restaurant hours. Food was bland for the price point and the espresso machine was not working. Overall mediocre at best.

Cress is the perfect place to relax and watch the world go by. We sat right on the river which made for an exceptional experience. We were there for a late lunch. The service was over-the-top, cocktails very good, but food was just a tad above average. If we are ever back in Sedona, we will visit Cress again.

The setting overlooking the creek is perfection. Casual elegance. Friendly helpful staff. My server, Connie was fantastic! The amuse- bouche was a spoon holding a marinated cucumber slice topped with ahi poki. I live in Hawaii and am still not a big fan of ahi poki -i think it generally lacks flavor. And the same was true for this little mouthful. I had a glass of a very nice and dry Tattinger champagne that bubbled away for quite some time. The sunchoke - potato vichyssoise was creamy and so delicious, with smoked paprika oil drawn in little red hearts along with small clumps of tiny sunflower seeds on the surface. Most excellent! I had the special, beautifully plated, perfectly seared scallops slightly caramelized on the top with a corn and i think leek puree, a relish vinaigrette with very tiny diced leek and red pepper, tiny whole basil leaves, and two rowed grilled corn ribbs. 3 of those. This dish was perfection. I also Ordered the pearl and oyster mushrooms in a carmelized inion sauce. The mushrooms were nicely varied between tender and chewy but the flavor was lacking something. A bit too bland for me. Adding salt helped but it just needed a little more for the taste buds to be delighted. As i had been with the soup and the scallops. There was an appealing selection if desserts but it was just too late for me to eat dessert. I loved my meal, the service and its location! I woukd definitely return!

Fabulous location, incredible food. Sitting alongside the creek on a beautiful night. Not much better than that.

This was the most relaxing, wonderful lunch date with my husband! We had massages on site earlier, enjoyed the pool, and then had a delicious lunch at Cress. The ambiance by the creek is perfectly relaxing, and we even saw a beautiful blue heron fly by and land in the creek. 5 stars.
