From the first moment we sat down, our server, Colby, said there were no rules. He took the time to understand each person’s preferences, and the food was in fact, delivered perfectly. Best service I have ever experienced!
The food was good, once we got the final dish. Had to send the food back due to the dryness of the steak. It's location is beautiful. Ultimately, for almost $200 just for food there are better values in Sedona. We were honestly surprised at the service and food issues as the reviews were really good. Maybe it was a bad night for them. I would say YMMV.
Although it was too cold to dine al fresco Creekside which we saw would be very special, we thoroughly enjoyed the creatively prepared prix fixe 3-4 course tasting menu within the serene intimate dining space with a lovely view of the beautiful romantic setting. Service was beyond ultimate perfection and combined with fabulous wine and food selections made for a delightful and memorable experience.
The place is beautiful, and during good weather sitting by the creek would be amazing. I thought the food was good, but not quite up to the hype I've heard.
I have mixed feeling about the dinner I ate. Service and ambiance were excellent, but the food was highly varied. My 2 starters were both excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. I had steak for my main course, which although tasty was let down by a sauce that was so overpowering in flavor it had no place on the plate, and in my opinion ruined the dish. My dessert however was outright disgusting - a fig and almond tart, that was simply an unappetising mess of dried figs and cold soggy puff pastry. I am a massive dessert lover, but could not finish this dish; it was a very poor way to end the meal.
Forget the fact this restaurant is located in one of the most picturesque places in Arizona. It also just happens to be one of the best dining experiences in the state with top level service and fantastic wine list.
Food was very creative, unique, and superbly executed. The beef fillet was one of the top three I've ever had. To top it off, the service was exquisite. Everyone here is a professional. We were treated very well by everyone. Very romantic. We will be back again.
We had the four course menu and the food was delicious. The three sisters soup was an amazing mix of flavours. The pork belly second course also great. The venison stood out as a main. The fig tart was outstanding for dessert. The wine list was extensive with some fantastic wines. Our server was helpful and friendly. Overall a great experience. A little pricey
Delicious dinner in a beautiful setting. Service was impeccable. Lovely presentation. Ate inside due to weather. Patio by the creek would have been even better. Next time!
Ah, the food at Cress is as creative and delicious as reported but the setting IS TO DIE FOR. We were fortunate to be seated outside on the patio "creek side" and loved every minute of it. Service superb. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere and food cannot be beat. It is beyond good.
Awesome. Best food in Sedona. This chef is Uber talented. Setting was amazing. Couldn’t be outside. It was too cold. Summer must be wonderful but still worth it to go in March
One of the best meals we have had in some time. Expensive but a great experience.
Great food and creative. Fixed menu was full of great choices. Colby made the evening enjoyable as well.
Excellent food, superb service - though a tad overpriced.
Booked Cress on Oak Creek based on others dining experiences. This was a celebration for my wife's birthday and the experience was over the top. We let our server, Colby, go with it and pair the wines with each course. The wine was good, the food was amazing, the service was great and through good fortune, we hit the first night of dining outside in three months. This is fine dining at its best and we were looking for a great experience that was delivered in spades.
My wife and I had an amazing dinner at L'Auberge, the day after our wedding in Sedona. The food was spectacular, made only better by Colby, the Sommelier, who paired each course perfectly with a glass of wine. Thank you Colby! A perfect evening.
Excellent atmosphere, beautiful presentation, food quality does not live up to the setting. Steaks were overcooked and dry, "crab mayo" was good
We loved sitting by Oak Creek, Colby our waiter was fantastic, the food was delicious , great experience for my birthday.
Dinner was with my husband for my 60th birthday. We came to Sedona for s few days and I picked cress as the place to celebrate. Everything we ate was excellent except my husbands fillet mignon. It wasn't bad. Just average. The crab in spicy mayo may have been one of the best things we ever ate.
The service was very good. The food was barely average , we didn’t enjoy it. We are from NYC and do set our standards very high and the food was a true disappointment and yet the prices rivaled those one would pay for an outstanding dinner in NYC. I would not recommend.
The service was great everyone was very accommodating and knowledgeable.
The food however wasn’t as great as I was expecting. I would go back for the ambiance and drinks not necessarily because of the food. Also, the presentation of the food seemed a little forced and using dark plates and plates other than white washed out the presentation and made it hard to see..
What a great experience! The staff, food, service, ambiance...all were top notch. We felt like we were in San Francisco, only more relaxed. The atmosphere was perfect...we never wanted anything, and yet we always had everything. The staff is fantastic! Our waiter was knowledgeable and recommended a beautiful bottle of French wine to pair with the tasting that was delicious! (Now I have to find it at home!)
Next time we are in Sedona we will return to Cress on Oak Creek.
The major disappointment was the absurd pricing of their wine list. For example a bottle of 2006 Jordon cab, $79 from Jordan directly was $300 on the wine list. It appeared that everything was at least triple retail. I’m fine with making a reasonable profit, but....
Enjoyed the delicious and unique options on the menu. Excellent service. Was disappointed it was too cold for creekside dining - the location is absolutely stunning.
Exquisite meal, stunning setting, exceptional service. Spendy but well worth it.
One of the best meals we have had. Outstanding experience. Thank you.
Dinner was excellent and service was fantasticcccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc!
Absolutely amazing. Our waitress was wonderful- knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Ambiance is great and food is even better. Will definitely be back.
The food was awesome! The service was wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
They did an amazing job with the delicious food and terrific service. The only reason we rated the noise level a little bit higher than normal was that the Super Bowl was on in the bar. Once the game was over it was very quiet and intimate.
Great food and service as ever but could not believe the noise from the cocktail area where the super bowl was being shown. I wish they’d gone to a sports bar!
Excellent food and service.
Very beautiful setting and service was good but overall, the night's selections left something to be desired, especially for the hype. First course was exciting and flavorful, but as we progressed we were left thinking how we should have sat at the restaurant next door, Etch. The filet was flavorless and tough and we ordered it medium rare, however, it was served as ordered, not overdone.
When I made my reservation, it was because I thought we could be outside by the creek. I was not told until the day before when I called to confirm. I was also told I would have window seating and that was not done either. The food was overpriced and so were the drinks.
Very good food and very nice location. The service staff was excellent. In particular Colby and Nathaniel of the front of house team. I recommend trying as many dishes as possible and pairing wines from their cellar to go along with it. Great evening , thx again guys ! See you when we're are back in Sedona !
We had a wonderful evening, very romantic. The food and service were outstanding.
From Jacquelynn: The dinner started off fantastic! We each did the tasting menu without dessert and each ordered different things. The amuse Bouche was phenomenal, the starters (two each) were all incredible - he had the foie gras (first time I’ve ever liked foie gras) and the pork belly (good but my least fav of the 4). My corvina was amazing and my squash soup was good but maybe a bit too filling. His entree was coq au vin, and it was good but not great. I didn’t love the veggies (carrots tasted a bit strange in terms of flavor profile). My filet was just ok. It was more medium rare than medium (as I’d ordered) and the blue cheese sauce was too overpowering. It was incorporated into the potato purée turning it very salty. I was also quite full from the starters so I didn’t eat more than two bites before passing it to my dining companion who finished it. We both agreed it wasn’t the best filet we’d ever had but he liked it better than I did. We opted out of dessert but there was a lovely little chocolate bite to end the meal. Service was great and lead waiter was very informative on food and wine pairings.
From jason: service standards were about as good as you can get; everyone knew their role and operated as a high-performing team. They made us feel truly special. Bravo! Loved the creative “dessert-like” foie gras: all flavors worked perfectly. Great wine selections (recommended from our server). I also enjoyed the pork belly second course. Entrees were good, but not as good as I had hoped, and as compared to the first two courses. Loved the atmosphere in the restaurant. Wall sconces and artwork were cool.
Over priced, limited menu.
My wife and I dinned here last year and it was just as fabulous this year. Having Joel as our waiter ( the title doesn’t do him justice) brought the experience to a whole new level. I’m having trouble coming up with the words to describe how he enhanced the dinner, Joel was very personable he described the menu beautifully and made wonder wine pairing for our selections. He was very attentive to us but never to the point of intruding in fact he was so wonderful to talk to I wish we had more time to converse. Joel also had a wonder support staff that complemented his table side manners. They all worked together seamlessly, just a fabulous dinner experience.
