First time enjoying dinner here. It’s was an AMAZING experience! Listening to the creek.
Came for my birthday dinner w my husband. We were also on our babymoon. So romantic, the waitress we had was so knowledgeable and the food was outstanding. This is a pre fixed menu so come ready to eat. You won’t be disappointed. The rolling creek sets the tone for the most calming and lovely evening
The food: asparagus and baratta was delish, I had the lamb and my husband had the beef filet. Both so full of flavor and melt in your mouth perfection.
Setting is beautiful.
One of the most beautiful dining spots I have ever seen! Perfect for a special romantic evening or celebration.
As my husband said, “checked all the boxes” and then some. Calm, cool, beautiful setting after exploring the desert all day long. Attentive and knowledgeable service with wonderful staff who walked that line between being there when needed and privacy to enjoy your company and setting. Really something special with creative food combos that combine sweet, spicy and savory wonderfully. Hope to visit again.
Gorgeous view. Spectacular food. Allergy sensitive. We celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary and had a marvelous time.
The restaurant has an amazing setting with a bubbling creek running beside the patio. The tables are set for fine dining and the experience measures up to expectations. The French chef provides outstanding lunch and dinner menus filled with imagination, flair and depth of flavor. the staff is also most impressive (Thank you!!) We have enjoyed this restaurant several time and have always been very impressed. It is a little difficult to find the roadway in, but your persistence will be rewarded!
This was easily one of ten best dining experiences of my life. The tasting menu was divine, the wine parings perfect, the setting breathtaking, and the service (Alana) beyond exceptional. Yes, the cost was a bit staggering but worth every penny.
Disappointing!!! From the robotic waitress to the lackluster amuse bouche to the dry tuna. Considering there are a limited number of choices on the menu, they should have had the grouper instead of the tasteless dry tuna that replaced it. Totally underwhelmed. Then they have the nerve to charge $9 for valet parking. Thank goodness the view was amazing and romantic.
We stayed at L'Auberge de Sedona for three nights and went to their restaurant Cress on Oak Creek on the last night. The entire experience was absolutely amazing. All the tables are on a beautiful creek and our server Michael was terrific, professional and friendly. The food was outstanding from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fine dining at its best.
We showed up7 minutes early the table needed to be prepared for the next 20 minutes.
The server knows the wines by numbers only.
We totally enjoyed our time at Cress. However, there was a wedding reception going on at the time of our dinner. Needless to say R/B, and Rock & Roll music destroyed the sounds of the babbling creek.
Wonderful food and service but the setting - outdoors and creekside is worth the visit.
We were very surprised to be disappointed by our dining experience at Cress. It came highly recommended by many people we trust. Our creekside table was fantastic and the location is gorgeous. Our initial cocktails were good. But the problems arose in food quality and service. We ordered the escargot and the duck confit rolls for 1st course. Duck rolls were dry and escargot flavors were ok but the dish was a bit cold. Second course we ordered highly recommended lamb and the lobster. The lamb was cooked poorly and was very tough and lacked flavor. My husband decided to eat it and traded with me for the lobster but we should have sent it back. The lobster was nice but was really not enough food for a main course dish. Overall - flavors and sauces seemed unrefined for a gourmet kitchen. Service - waiter rarely checked on us. Never checked on us at all after 1st course. We had to flag down her assistant to ask for wine with main course. Dessert course - very beautiful presentation for both desserts. My pistachio dewdrop cake was creative. My husband;s chocolate dessert had a ginger filling that completely overpowered the dessert, so he did not eat much of it. Overall, we were underwhelmed and we are hoping, for the sake of Cress's reputation, that the real chef/kitchen staff were surely on vacation or something??!!
The food and service was great. Sitting by the creek is so relaxing and refreshing!!
When we first arrived I was a bit concerned as it took awhile to be noticed, sitting at the bar to order a beverage. However, once we were seated for dinner we had outstanding service. Everything was timed to perfection and the food was outstanding. Every dish had a great blend of flavors, along with the artistic presentation. The ambiance can’t be better, as listening and watching the creek, so close to our table, was mesmerizing. The evening was a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.
Great experience at Cress! The service was very thoughtful but the overall night was a little long. We were there for almost 3 hours. The food was very good and the setting was amazing. Pricing is a little steep but the ambience is what you’re paying for more than anything
Incredible experience from the moment we approached the hostess desk. Unmatchable setting near the creek. Romantic, nature oriented yet elegant all at the same time. The service was outstanding and attentive. And the food does NOT disappoint. We had scallops and lobster. Delicate and delicious. The pastry chef is also worth splurging on desert, which is just the right size. Highly recommended that you try this for your next special evening out.
The presentation of each course was flawless and each was delicious but the service was not great with an excessive wait between courses. The price was exorbitant.
Not worth the price if outdoor seating is not available.
Glorious spot for a romantic evening! The tables on the water are just amazing. The service is fantastic. Plan to spend $300+ for two people. We loved our experience! Dessert was OK, but everything else was wonderful!
Atmosphere is great! Views are spectacular! Food - just okay.
We spotted this single reservation available on OpenTable and jumped on it. The front desk staff does not seem accustomed to non-hotel guests dining here, although it all worked out. The setting is outdoors 100%, a creek side dining experience that happens along the banks of Oak Creek. It is cool here now, unexpected, and the patio heaters were lit. The experience becomes very private as the fast moving creek makes for a pleasant background din among your own private conversation. You don’t hear other diners talking. It’s not hard to hear your date, just a nice time to share and talk. Bryon, our server, was very experienced, and we felt taken care of for our 2 hour visit. This is not a get in/get out evening. You choose 3 or 4 items to make a 3 course meal, the 4th item being another entre if you desire. Others have commented that the portions are small, and they were not huge by any stretch. I’m the guy that ordered an extra entre, lobster tail to go with my Beef Filet, and the only funny thing was that it was served as a completely different entre, on another larger dinner plate. I transferred everything over to one plate, maybe mixing flavors that weren’t meant to be mixed. I’m neither a wine or culinary connoisseur, had to look at google to know how to spell that word, but the mixed plates were very good. The kitchen staff dropped the ball on our desert order, so we were there prolly another 1/2 hour beyond “normal”, but the time was passed in a nice setting with a couple of extra treats since we had to wait...for a couple that enjoys being together and has time to check baseball scores and talk about life and family, we recommend this spot. Not inexpensive, but you know that going in, and it may be food you don’t see everyday. It was for us.
Steak was awful. Made better Trader Joe’s steak at home last week. Think it was probably left in the sous vide all day. Dry and flavorless.
Enjoyed my last night in Sedona with a wonderful Anniversary dinner.
I would recommend first for the atmosphere as it was lovely, especially with a full moon. Servings were very small. Food was beautifully presented and flavorful. Dessert was somewhat of a disappointment for both of us but appetizers and entrees were very good.
Absolutely the best location when you are creekside enjoying a quiet dinner with your significant other. The wait staff is the best I have ever experienced and the food is always top-notch preparation, display, and taste. While it is pricy compared to most restaurants, the experience is worth it.
At times, the service was a little slow, but our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and kept us up-to-date as everything was brought out to us. Food was excellent and very creative
The experience was very over rated. 3 courses for 95.00. Very small portions. Plates not cleared when we finished courses. At least 45 minutes between courses. It has gone down significantly from its glory days.
I would rate this higher if I could! This restaurant was superb.
Very nice service, food good and presented well. But overpriced for what we got.
We were traveling with another couple while visiting Sedona. We originally requested an outside table, unfortunately it was raining and the outside patio was closed. Not to worry, we were immediately seated even though the restaurant was crowed. Cress on Oak Creek has an expensive 3 or 4 course fixed priced menu and they do not support a separate entree menu. The choices were diverse and each course was delicious. The chef sent out 4 different extras during between or after the cources. Our server was excellent, knowledgeable and attentive. The wine list was limited so there were only 2 choices for Chardonnay; our choice was expensive, but it was excellent.
My only disappointment was that they included the valet parking as a charge on the menu.
Service was truly outstanding! The location and setting can’t be beat. And the food was commensurate with the rest of the experience. Well done.
A perfect setting. My third time dining here and I will return next time I am in Sedona!
As indicated, the atmosphere and the service were excellent. The chocolate dessert was both stale and tasteless. The lamb was delicious as were the duck confit rolls...lighter than one might expect which was wonderful.
Service is wonderful and it is an upscale fine dining experience. I reserved here to sit next to the creek and was willing to pay a few hundred dollars for a good meal with a spectacular view. Unfortunately we had to sit inside bc it was “cold” and the restaurant wasn’t serving by the creek. There were heat lamps outside and the hotel we were staying at managed to serve dinner outside so I was very disappointed. The food was good, but again we live in manhattan and have paid the same price for a much better dinner. I wouldn’t go back unless you get to sit outside per the experience they promise on their website.
Special treat only. It’s very expensive, but the food is very good. Not worthy of the price, though. Very pretty area to fine.
Superb dining experience, from the lovely creekside setting to the delightful food and friendly and professional service. We started off our first evening on a three-night getaway right!
The menu selections were varied and the preparation was not only beautiful to look at, but layered with wonderful flavor.
The setting is amazing, as is the food and the service. The specialty cocktail were unique and delicious. The duck confit first course was excellent! Great place for a high-end dinner experience in Sedona.
