Great place to get a New Orleans meal. Food is good and pricey.
This is a good find in the neighborhood on in San Carlos with delicious, interesting dishes from New Orleans.
Food was fabulous. Will definitely go back to try more items.
We waited for a long time from the time we arrived. Other table were already served and done eating and we still haven't been served.
Although the owner attempted to make up for the wait we don't think waiting for over an hour for food is way too much.
We will never go back eventhough the food is good.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. A must visit for all foodies if you want to try cajun food.
The festive atmosphere with Mardi Gras decorations make Creola seem even more like being in New Orleans! The food is wonderful as always, a real treat! Since we are from New Orleans and visit there frequently, we enjoy the Creola experience as being the next best thing!
Has been a favorite of ours since they opened some 10 or so , years ago.
great food! i had a cajun fish dish...loved the crunchy breading and spices! will be returning soon!:-)
The ambiance was nice, it was Ash Wednesday so all of the decorations from Fat Tuesday were still up and festive. We may have made a mistake ordering the same entrees, but we went with the fried chicken which received accolades on Yelp. It was okay, the portion was huge (3 pieces of very fried, crispy chicken). The crawfish hushpuppies were good, the salad was good but nothing spectacular. In a nutshell, this is a good place for some different cuisine on the Peninsula, but we left there commenting on how there are other places we like more and how tough the competition is around here for restaurants.
Joined Edwin & his staff, along with some of my friends, to celebrate Mardi Gras. The music was great and at a comfortable listening level. The food was outstanding, as usual. The oysters en brochette & crawfish hushpuppies appetizers were to die for! I normally get the Shrimp Creola for my entree but couldn't pass up the Taste of New Orleans this time. The soft shell crab was 'just like my grandma use to make' back in New Orleans growing up. Amazing how great food can bring back awesome memories. The crawfish & shrimp etouffee was just like home. I think this is my new favorite dish now. :)
Very disappointing. We've had great lunch items "to go" in the past & went for dinner on Mardi Gras with great anticipation, but left crest fallen. Great crawfish hush puppies however. Incorrect orders; over spiced food; slow service (30 min. between courses after we were finished); and server paid attention to tables on our sides & walked right by us numerous times. Our dessert to go had the wrong accompaniments in the boxes. We politely mentioned these things to the floor manager (not the owner) & I was asked "what can I do to make you happy?" I'm sure he meant well, but I was a little offended. We wanted to be helpful and not seeking recompense. You can't fix a problem if you don't know about it. Everyone has a bad day, we'll try again.
Creola was all ready for Mardi Gras! The redfish special was very good. The combo seafood with soft shell crab was also very good. The Manhattan was a bit pricey at $10.00 with Makers Mark.
Service was nice. will go back again and again. Owner shook our hands and welcomed us.
We enjoyed our dinner and service very much. We will be going back again. There was nothing in control of the restaurant that was not good. However, one family sitting nearby had a screaming child. Doesn't anyone get a babysitter anymore?
I am amazing the food is great and price is very affordable.
... makes you feel you have returned to New Orleans with their great menu and food preparation.. each dish we ordered was prepared to perfection and we will definitely return.
Service and food were very good. Went with a couple of friends and we were able to hold a conversation where we were able to hear one another. Entrees we tried were the Catfish, Shrimp Creola & Fried Chicken (a special for that night). All were very good. For dessert, the bread pudding and beignets. YUM! I will definitely go back.
Been here before and as it's some distance from where I live it's usually a "special occasion" visit. Thus my visits are not frequent. However, the food quality remains outstanding and has done over several years. This is certainly worth a visit.
I moved to Connecticut. I sure do miss Creola. I had some of my final meals at Creola. They were as usual cooked to perfection and just thinking of them makes my mouth water and my taste-buds home sick.
Lunch is only served once a week on Wednesday. A nice way to enjoy the great menu. I saw quite a few groups (4+) comprised of people on their lunch break celebrating a birthday or something.
The fixed priced four courses dinner was very reasonable. Each item tasted very good.
The jambalaya and shrimp creola were both amazing. Excellent and friendly service. Can't wait to go back.
The overall experience is good, not excellent. The restaurant could have hired a better hostess. She doesn't know how to smile.
Tables were close together and cozy. Friendly service. Good food.
This was our second visit to Creola, so we must have liked it enough the first time to go back. We brought our two kids, and felt comfortable. The menu is limited, but interesting. Our absolute favorite item on the menu is the taco-shimi, a fried wontan (the taco) with raw tuna (the shimi) and sauce. If we go again, we will probably order 2 or three of these alone. The buttermilk brined fried chicken was very good, and I remember having a very good chicken dish there last time, so I would recommend chicken. Besides that, it was a solid good. Nothing spectacular, but good. The gumbo was a little disappointing, as were several of the New Orleans dishes. We will go back again, as Creola offers something different.
I've been to a number of restaurants with New Orleans style fare and this restaurant rated right at the top as far as decor, ambience, and outstanding menu selection.
Wonderful, excellent service, excellent food (best fried chicken ever, although a little pricey). My only suggestion is to have other option beside chocolates for desert, we have to skip it due to most choice are chocolates.
We had been meaning to try for years and finally did! It was fabulous. Great food, atmosphere, and service. Food very authentic. Great menu selections.
I was confused about the $50 discount and I didn't realize there was an upfront purchase required. I did not study it closely. That was the only issue I had.
I took a foreign business associate there and it was quite enough for a easily understood business conversation. I think he enjoyed the Creole flavors of the food and the pecan pie.
Creola is consistently excellent. The menu is supplemented with new items on a regular basis but it maintains the quality. Creola puts it's own unique twist on New Orleans classics. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is relaxing.
Eight of us went to lunch at Creolas. Half of the group had eaten there before and the other half will surely come back. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient.
Unique environment with scrumptious creole favorites. Seasonal alligator and crawfish are great surprises. The bisque, the crawfish hushpuppies, and the excellent Hurricanes are enough to bring you back constantly!
Wonderful place! very romantic and affordable. Great service, even at the busiest of times. Wonderfully timed courses :) over all a great experience.
food is excellent.A dining experience
The special Valentine's Day menu was superb! The Goat Cheese & Black Truffle Ravioli, with Roasted Tomato/ Basil Oil/parmigiano reggiano was incredibly flavorful, and the Taco Shimi tuna appetizer not far behind.
This was our 3rd Valentines Day at CreoLA, a romantic tradition for us. A slight disappointment that the V-Day prix fixe menu didn't have many of our New Orleans favorites... but all of our choices proved delightful, rich and perfectly prepared. But ah! the service... in spite of the full house, every order taken, courses delivered, empty plates whisked away, beverages refilled -- each at precisely the right time, each so courteously we never felt interrupted. A wonderful evening we gladly recommend (and were assured that the wonderful N.O cuisine remains on the weekly menu).
This restaurant was amazing!!! Service was excellent and the food was amazing!!! This reservation was for Valentines and the restaurant made sure to contact us to make sure that we knew there was a special menu, great customer service. The decor was awesome, felt like we were in New Orleans! Beautiful place, we are looking forward to going back to try the regular menu!!! Thank You!!!
Only complaint and this has happened more than once, they need to pull their red wine out of the cooler sooner it tends to be to cold.
We had a variety of dishes, A Taste of New Orleans, steak, turtle soup, alligator...everything was tasty and attractively presented. The vegetables were fresh and not over cooked. Wait staff were helpful and pleasant.
I was really excited to try Creola. The food was so-so; nothing special. I had better when I was in New Orleans. I ordered the Taste of New Orleans dish. I wasn't impressed with their Étouffée. I was not happy with their service. To be more fair, I wasn't not particularly happy with the service provided by our server (person who took our order). People dine out to enjoy the food and good customer service. This lady DID NOT have any customer service. She had no smile throughout our whole meal; it's almost as if someone died. The servers who brought out our food was so friendly; even the person who refilled our water and bread.
I may eat at Creola again if someone wants to go. However, I wouldn't make the trip out there otherwise.
Excellent place. The food is great. The service is good. We are going there often and every time it's a pleasure.
