Creola Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time at Creole. We were there very early and were able to take advantage of the happy hour menu. The service and quality of good was excellent. Everyone was so friendly. I actually prefer it over Nola in Palo Alto, but to be fair Nola has a very different vibe. But if you are looking for a comfortable, cozy restaurant to enjoy with friends or family, this is a great choice.
I was excited to try this restaurant. Must be a local favorite as it was packed. I was hoping for an inventive, fun cocktail list. Boring and the Manhattan I had was the worst I've ever had. The seats the guys were in were so uncomfortable, we had to insert pillows from the bench seat behind their backs. Food was good.
Host was rude. We had never seen him before. We had a reservation for 5:15 and there were only 4 people in the entire restaurant when we arrived. We asked for a more private table (not the middle of the empty room) and were told that all the other tables were reserved for other parties. (One reservation was for 6:30 so the table would remain vacant until that time. Another table that we requested was still vacant when we left 2 hours later.)
We have been long time customers of this restaurant and usually have had great service and food. The food seemed different this time, and the experience was very uncomfortable. We probably will not return.
This was my first time trying creole cuisine, and I was pleasantly surprised! We had the hush puppies, which were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. We brought in our own wine, and the staff was able to accommodate that with ease. For my entree I had the tofu jambalaya, and it was a pleasantly filling vegetarian dish. Great experience all around! The one negative aspect was the noise, every time the door opened you could hear the nearby highway.
The food is excellent for lunch and the prices are quite reasonable. We decided on Jambalaya and Grilled Chicken with Red Beans and Rice. The Corn Muffins were delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. We definitely recommend this Creole inspired menu.
This is my go-to for my Southern Comfort food! I had the Shrimp Creola as well as my favorite crawfish hush puppies and it was delicious! My friend had the steak which he requested to have it charred outside but pink inside and it was cooked as requested and of course, very tasty, tender and delicious! The bread pudding is also good! This place always deliver!
We had out of town visitors and they were blown away by the quality of the ingredients and different flavors of the food. Great drinks, excellent appetizers and fantastic food. I've recommended this restaurant several times and, based on the food and service tonight, will continue to do so. One of our favorites.
This is my second time st CreoLa. First time was divine abd the food and service was superb. Second time back with my coworkers for lunch. The ahi was delicious. The jumbalya was not bad but when my dish cane out the presentation was nothing compared to the ahi. My entree came out and it was on a white round plate .. the plate looked a bit scratched up. The two dish cannot be compared .. mine looked like something whipped up at home and the ahi looks really good.
Just some suggestion, the presentation that comes out for The jambalaya should be on par with the ahi dish.
Delicious food, and the prix fixe dinner menu for $35 per person is a great value, and includes appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and dessert. Good cocktail selection, very reasonably priced, and tasty. The service was extremely attentive. A must try if you have not been to this little gem before.
I picked Creola to have dinner with my husband's parents. We started with some cocktails and then head to some amazing appetizers. I'm particularly fond of the Shrimp bourbon street. We followed our meals with the Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee and Fried Chicken. Both were extremely tasty and one of us could have easily repeated their entree. It was that good! Finally we ended with French silk pie and caramel beignet for dessert. Although our stomachs were full, we are glad we had space for dessert, because these were to eat and cry for more :)
Overall we had an excellent experience, from food taste and presentation, service and atmosphere.
We will definitely be coming back!!
What a fabulous meal. We invited another couple. New menu items added. Revamped wine list, now includes several Cabs. Shared Appetizers: Ahi Tuna Taco Tartar, Shrimp Bourbon St, Okra. Main courses: Jambalaya, Shrimp Etouffee & softshell crab (new dish), Cornmeal Crusted Catfish, Brined Fried Chicken. Everyone left with a smiling tummy.
A good friend's Birthday.
Edwin, owner, is welcoming, charming and an excellent host. He also makes an outstanding Sazarak, my favorite New Orleans cocktail.
Food was exceptional. We had the soft shell crab special; outstanding is the only way to describe. All around a wonderful Sunday Brunch/Lunch day. Very comfortable setting and very hospitable. Went a few times before for dinner, now lunch and will continue to go back.
This has become one of our go-to restaurants. The food is consistently great. My filet was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the vegetable we prepared properly, no overcooked or unreasonably naked. Can't get my husband to order anything other Shrimp Etouffee because it's so good.
The decor projected warmth which I liked. Next came the complimentary cornbread which was fluffy and piping hot. Another plus. But I was honestly disappointed by both the gumbo and the fried chicken. The gumbo was on the bland side and the chicken was just a tad overly fried. I had one bite of the shrimp/crawfish etouffe and thought that was a superior choice. The classic beignet should achieve a pillow of hot air inside. Not here. The panna cotta though was on point.
