They use to have a wasabi crusted chicken on the menu but no longer have it. I asked them if they would make it and they gladly did! Our party of four enjoyed the meal.
Hadn't been back to Creola in a few years. It was as good as we remembered it, especially the seared Ahi. Don't know why we waited so long to go back. Will go again in the near future.
The ambiance and food are great. It's just that this particular time, it seemed I had more rice than sauce. I wish there was more rue instead of rice.
The food is good but we felt that the waiter was rushing us. The place was not crowded, so we could not understand why we were being rushed.
It had been a couple of years since my wife and I dined here (moved away from the Peninsula) but the food and service did not disappoint. We travel annually to NOLA and the food is quite authentic. We started with drinks (she had a glass of Riesling and I had an 'Ole Fashion' (popular NOLA whiskey drink - well made as if I was at Pat O'Brien's in the French Quarter).
For Appetizers, we had the Shrimp Hush Puppies, Bourbon Street Shrimp and Brouchette Oysters (deep fried, bacon-wrapped oysters) - great starters.
Dinner: I had the Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffe over jasmine rice (I would say this dish would rival the top restaurant destinations in NOLA). My wife ordered the Shrimp Creole - also very good (perfectly blackened Gulf Shrimp).
Dessert: I had a slice of Pecan Pie (made with a cheese cake layer) and my wife had the Bread Pudding (made with an awesome Frangelico/White Chocolate Sauce) - both yum, and Café au Lait for both (made with Coffee w/Chickory).
Everything we ordered was delicious and plated just as good. My wife and I were really glad we made our way back for a sit-down dinner here. The food is authentic in taste as we travel to NOLA often. This place is a gem and believe will not disappoint. Very glad to see CreoLa is still there (I noticed they also expanded the space a bit with additional dining space and bar area).
Second time we did a reservation and both times we had a table directly at the door. Means it is cold, people are standing next to you, waiting for their table. Not a cozy environment for a dinner you made your reservation nearly two weeks ahead.
Our server didn’t tell us anything about the specials for the evening. So we ended up ordering regular menu. The server for the other side of the hallway told his guests about duck confit and some other stuff which was really disappointing cause I love duck.
After our main course we were kinda forgotten. Took nearly 20min before we saw a dessert menu.
All over their food is good. Their light mousse au chocolate is not so light. But their fish and chicken entrees are delicious.
We will not make any reservations anymore so I can leave without hassle if I don’t like the table.
It was Valentine's Day, so maybe not a great first impression, but our server wasn't around too much to ask how our meal was or to ask if we were ready to order the next course. There were several servers working our table, so I think things fell through the cracks since it wasn't just one person checking in. The entrees were delicious! The bread pudding was small and just okay. We'll be back for the entrees!
Great food great service.
Hi quality and very consistent
It was Fat Tuesday! Great Music, Great Food and excellent service helped our party of 4 have a fantastic time. Can’t say enough about Creola’s cool vibe. It’s a happening place that brings the taste and feel of New Orleans to San Carlos.
The service was disappointing. The food took a very long time to make. It seemed like the parties next to us got their food faster than we did and they came after us. That ruined the expiernece.
Excellent brunch. Great food and service. The only disappointment was they didn't have the pain perdu on the day we visited.
I love going to Creole I because the food tastes great and they always seat us in a reasonable amount of time.
My family was celebrating a birthday. We were seated in the large area with comfortable benches on 3 sides. It was as if we were in a home. Our server was attentive, pleasant and detail oriented. The other staff were equally hospitable. We would definitely return.
Great food with a fantastic Jazzy lunch special. Loved the warm corn muffins. Their 'jazzy lunch' included an entrée, an appetizer or soup, and a salad for $18 which I consider a very reasonable price considering the options included and the great service and pleasant atmosphere with New Orleans jazz music in the background. A perfect birthday lunch (with enough food to make 'what's for dinner?' far from important.
My wife and I have been dining at Creola since it started decades ago. We have always enjoyed dining there. They have excellent food at moderate prices, especially the "Jazzy Lunch"---several courses at a good price.
Food is excellent, but when you order, make sure the wait staff gets it right as the noise level is high. Have been there 2 previous times and would definitely go there again.
Corn bread was really good!
The food was tasty, service excellent. Can’t wait to go back!
Dinner with friends: 2 ordered fried chicken and other 2 the wasabi ahi tuna. Everything was delicious. Hubby still raves about how tender and tasty the fried chicken was. The ahi tuna was tender and flavorful, although the tuna came medium rare and not rare as requested. Had beignets for dessert. A little disappointed as they didn't taste like as fresh as they could have been. But still a great place for a good meal.
I’ve been to Creole five times in less than a year. The first time at this restaurant was for dinner for a celebration and I was impressed all around. I would have given this place five stars overall. Since then i’ve Been there for lunch and dinner. And they never disappointed each time. However, the last time I was less impressed. We went for happy hour. We ordered several appetizers, and they were all great. So were the cocktails. We decided to order the bisque to finish off the meal, but the bisque was served warm. A little disappointing, as I’v had it before and it was a hit.
