Fabulous food....perfectly prepared! Loved all the Gluten Free options! Great evening!
The wine tasting was good, but it was just on the house wines. The food was presented well, but not a lot of flavors. Very plain. The prices are high. Not a place to go on a regular basis, more for a special occasion.
Great food, service and knowledge of wines. Always seems to be personal service. Love it!
The food was very good but they were out of a few menu items. They said it was due to the fact that they are re-doing the menu
Never disappointed. Great food super nice owner. Food is always top notch
Food was very delicious. Service was excellent . Ambiance was very pleasant. We were very pleased our experience with the open table references.
Room was cold. Salad and soup came out after entree. Steak ordered medium was cold. Glass of wine ordered to come out with steak came at end of meal. Very disappointing.
Food was alright...bit overpriced for the amount and overall quality. I’ve never seen a filet cut as thin as this one was. Salmon was excellent.
Valentines dinner. It was busy so service was expectedly slow, not a problem. My husband had the steak which was good, nothing special. I ordered the salmon which was disappointingly flavorless. This was our first time. I would
Like to try again as I’ve head their food is typically really good. Server seemed to be more of a helper for the night. I shared my disappointment with the salmon and suggested something may be missing, I got no reaction.
We had a nice relaxing meal at Cravings. The made from scratch food is consistently good and the service and wine list make it a great place to go.
Excellent food. Great wine suggestion.
We enjoyed our evening at Cravings prior to a show in Downtown St. Paul. Service was quick, Stephanie was great - not too disruptive and not too forgetful. She handled my mother-in-law very well who asks every possible question about the menu and is dairy free & gluten free. Even with those dietary needs, they were easily able to accommodate her. We've been here twice before but never rush back. The food is good, but not great or a wow. The space is nice but really plain - just plain white walls. They could improve the look with less ambient light on the white walls with no art and more focused lighting at the tables. Depending where you sit, the speakers are really loud but not too annoying. The best part of the meal was the dessert. I'd highly recommend this for a glass of wine and dessert before dinner and wine. Between the four of us we had the lasagna, the spinach ravioli & the short ribs. Portion size of the pasta is on the smaller small side for $18 and the short ribs were adequate. Wine by the glass is a little pricey compared to other restaurants, but their list is very nice and many options by the glass. Hands down - go for the dessert. The tart is amazing and the chocolate cake is almost to die for. Almost every other dessert had caramel. Either you like caramel or you don't - unfortunately none of us are caramel fans. All in all - go for a nice dinner, you'll pay a little more than you want, the food will be good. If you want to be wow'ed or amazed, skip dinner and go for a glass of wine & dessert! (P.S. I appreciate the single bathrooms - just wish they would make them gender neutral).
Great ambiance and nice happy hour specials. Ideal place for date night!
Excited about some new menu offerings! Tried the charred Brussels salad and added the salmon - wow, what an exceptional dish!! Wonderful flavors and salmon prepared to perfection!! Excellent coffee and loved the brut rose offering as well. Another great dining experience. Thank you!
Love the food and service at Cravings. We are return customers and continue to have nice dinners there. Wish it was bigger to accommodate larger groups, but it’s great for parties of 4 or less. Really, really appreciate the care and attention for those with gluten allergies or intolerance. Will be visiting again for sure.
Although it has a lot of great reviews, I would have to rate it as just an average wine restaurant that, for what we got, was overpriced. The bread that we ordered to start our meal was barely warm and far from toasted. My steak was flavorful, but was underwhelming. The short ribs were good, but honestly, had the same flavors that I get when I prepare a roast in the crockpot. As far as service goes, there may have only been one server on, as it took quite a while for anyone to take our drink order. The manager/owner was very active in the dining room, which was nice to see. I just expected more from my meal and my service.
Cravings is our favorite nice place to eat in Woodbury, a community that is still hurting for good, non-chain restaurants.
My boyfriend and I are here for NYE. He had the Southwest burger which he said was good. I took advantage of their 3-course meal for $45. I had the Cravings salad, scallops/shrimp entree and tiramisu dessert. We also had the raspberry chocolate pecan dessert (I don’t recall the specific name of it). Loved the shrimp and scallops- it came with a white cream sauce and some veggies which brought the dish altogether. The desserts were very tasty. Waitstaff was attentive throughout the meal and was responsive in providing adequate time to decide what we wanted to order.
Nice atmosphere and good wine/whiskey selection but service was extremely slow with no explanation and food was small portions and tasted average. We’d maybe go back for a happy hour but no more.
We were in town on Christmas Eve and wanted to have a nice dinner out between family gatherings in the afternoon and the next day. There were very few choices of open restaurants, but so happy Cravings was not only open, they had an excellent menu, wine list and desserts. If we lived in the Twin Cities, we'd be going here all the time. Thank you for making our holiday dinner so wonderful!
My food was warming to cool, so I did ask for it to be warmed. My husband ordered a med steak and it came out well done like a hockey puck. He chose to not send it back and wait another 20+ minutes for another one. They were medium busy. Not great for the $125+ meal.
It was perfect. We had our first date together there and had a lovely experience! The food and wine were wonderful then. And we even danced to the song Come Away With Me, by Norah Jones. I wanted to propose to my honey last night and decided to do it there and they accommodated everything perfectly. Once again the food and wine were wonderful! (Crab cakes and carbonara!) and they played our song, we danced, and then I proposed! Thank you Cravings!
First of all, the lighting was too bright. We sat by the window & it was cold. However the main problem was that the service was very poor & the wait was long despite the fact that there were only a few other people there. Our server was uninterested in being friendly. Our food was way too expensive compared to other places around.
We were there for an hour after our tab was brought and not requested for. Wanted to stay and have more drinks. The place was pretty empty so it wasn't because they needed to turn our table.
A cute little neighborhood gem! We had appetizers and a bottle of wine. While the food was delicious it is was expensive for the amount served. The wine bottle prices were average. There was only one server and she was busy. Cute atmosphere.
Some bread with the meal would have been nice ***
We ordered the cremini mushroom soup -delicious! The scallop starter was also excellent the presentation was a feast for the eyes. Chicken Lasagna is on3 of their signature dishes a real comfort dish for cold winter days. The flatbreads never disappoint. The servers are always welcoming and do a great Jon.
Renea was outstanding with info and service.
Birthday dinner was fun!
Excellent!! We appreciated the happy hour offerings and really enjoyed our wine and appetizers for an excellent value. We had never had the frites before - WOW! Great flavors - delicious. Also tried the chips - also excellent. Attentive service - we felt very special and had a delightful experience. Thank you. My only request would be to add a dry rose’ and/or Sauvignon Blanc to the happy hour wine options.
Our party of four all enjoyed their meals, and we're going to make this a more frequent gathering place. I had the homemade lasagna, two of our party had burgers and one had the brussels salad, and all of the dishes were great. We also tried two of the desserts, the raspberry chocolate torte and the orange caramel cake, and both were outstanding. The wine list is very impressive and the staff's recommendations were right on target.
With the new Chef, there are new items that are of his making. The portion size has actually increased and the flavors of his food has enhanced what he serves. The wine selection is outstanding for a small restaurant and the monthly wine dinners are worth every penny. If you have never taken the time to dine at Cravings, you are missing out on a wonderful feast.
Our daughter chose Cravings for her & her husband's birthday dinners this past Friday because she has been "craving" their white chicken lasagne and salted chocolate cake. She was very disappointed to learn that they had sold the last piece of the cake the night before, and would have more the next day. When the waitress came to take our drink orders, she told us that they are out of the lasagna. My daughter was furious, especially because she had double-checked the online menu just to confirm they had it. The waitress said they weren't serving it during the summer. We should have left at that point. The manager came to our table but was not apologetic at all, and simply made excuses for the online menu being incorrect. He didn't offer a free anything to make up for it.
Considering this was a Friday evening, the place was pretty empty. It is also overpriced, although we wouldn't have minded since we were celebrating birthdays. We will not return.
Although clean and tidy, a few candles and flowers wouln't hurt the ambiance BUT the food is ALWAYS superb and the server gave us "part-of-the-family-type" service which is appropriate for Cravings. It has always felt less like high dining and more like FABULOUS
food in a neighborhood pub (which these days is about my speed). It is our go-to spot when we want to stay in Woodbury and have out of town guests. We don't HAVE to go to the Cities for a very good menu that is nicely prepared.
Another wonderful experience at Cravings!!! Lunch with 2 great friends and we were taken care of so well!! Our meals were exceptional. They have a new scallop small plate - it is an inspired creation!!! The scallops were cooked perfectly and the surrounding veggies, garnishes, and purée were delicious. I’m still savoring that delicious dish and wondering how soon I can go back to get it again. I had a lovely glass of dry rose and was excited to see 3 options for dry rose! Nice job. We all loved our meals and wines / drinks. Im wishing I had tried a dessert - they sounded wonderful. Next time. Thanks for taking such great care of us again!!!
Our server Brett is absolutely the best! Remembers our drinks and favorite food items even when we haven’t been in for a few weeks!
Just a great restaurant. We've been here many times and always had excellent food and service
Great place. Super cute, nice patio. Service was wonderful and food was great! Don’t miss the chocolate martini for dessert
Had a wonderful seasonal wine from an extensive list. Dinner was delicious!
We made last minute reservations and had no problem getting a table. There were only a few customers when we arrived which is usually a concern, but we have dined here before and knew the food was great. This meal was no exception. Excellent food and wine, with the added bonus of not having to compete for the servers attention. We highly recommend Cravings.
