Crave Fishbar Midtown is a vibrant, convivial restaurant in Manhattan serving an inspired seafood menu from chef Todd Mitgang. An eclectic mix of reclaimed materials and custom made chairs and tables lend a beachy, rustic feel to the space, which houses a 25-foot-long bar where guests can order from the full dinner menu along with cocktails and wine from a mounted bottle display. Journey up to the 2nd floor and watch an army of shuckers plating raw bar platters. Approachable, sophisticated dishes feature local seafood, crudos, and meat dishes that are thoughtfully prepared with both familiar and exotic ingredients. Crave Fishbar has taken its place as a neighborhood fixture, providing locals and newcomers alike with a elegant, inviting experience.
We were the first NYC restaurant partner of the Monterey Bay Aquarium so that every single item on the menu is sustainable and all of our practices are to better our oceans.

Loved coming here. The calamari was amazing and the grilled octopus was juicy with the right amount of sauce and vegetables. The best deal here was the oyster happy hour! Our waiter was very attentive and made great suggestions.

Very nice restaurant, friendly and professional service, the food is amazing, great selection of raw shellfish but also from the kitchen we had terrific proposals.
Octopus, shrimps, lobster and cod was our preferred, but we had also pasta , salmon and fish burgers very good.
I recommend this restaurant as one of the best casual choice in Manhattan for seafood

the happy hour with $1 oysters, is the best deal in town. We start with oysters and then add appetizers or plates. The service is amazing- patient and willing to spend time letting us try different oysters.

I go for dinner and for lunch. It is my go-to place

Happy hour oysters are always fantastic. Love all the various choices for fresh oysters (usually around a dozen choices). Fried oyster slider was also fantastic!

The barramundi was amazing - I'm worried that I got it on my first visit to Crave Fishbar because now I'll probably order the same thing every time I visit!

The food is always great at Crave and it is usually busy as well. However, having made a reservation on Open Table we were surprised to be seated at a bar table right next to the busy entrance. After noting our displeasure the hostess did make an effort to move us to the front of the restaurant after some patrons left, which we appreciated, but we had kind of settled in so stayed where we were at that point. And honestly on a cold night the front tables are not great either; it gets crowded with people entering and leaving and cold as the door opens and closes. Fortunately it was fairly early so the bar was not overly crowded but if it were it would have been an uncomfortable and not inexpensive meal. As usual the food was excellent, but I don't think we would go back unless we could be assured a better table. I would still recommend Crave but suggest when you reserve ask for a table upstairs or at the rear of the restaurant.

This spot is great for happy hour if you love oysters!
They’ve usually got six west coast and six east coast options.
Their food otherwise is very heavy, Brussels sprout came drenched unnecessarily in oil, etc.
I find the wait staff lovely but the woman the front desk is ferocious and not in a good way.

The food was good. Efficient service- maybe a little too efficient. The courses where served so fast - actually too fast. During the time that we sat the girl who is checking the tables progress came & looked in our direction 3 times. It’s not a pleasant feeling to dine under such watchful eyes. I felt pressured to eat quickly and leave. And I’m not someone who hangs out for hours when it’s a week day dinner...Also, the bathroom was not clean.

Came for the happy hour oysters and got a great family meal. Ate here on Easter Sunday with the kids while on vacation in NYC. Great find, outside of busy tourist areas but easy to get to. Service was friendly and not rushed. We all enjoyed and would definitely recommend without hesitation.

I really enjoy eating at crave, the menu is always fantastic, every food option is delicious and the atmosphere is lively but relaxed. The only thing on this occasion was the service wasn’t up to normal standards, we had to ask for water a number of times and they just wasn’t attentive as usual but it won’t stop me going back.

This was my third time there and I will return. Food and service were excellent. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because ther was a cold breeze upstairs but otherwise optimal. Highly reccommend.

One of my favorite restaurants. Fabulous happy hour with $1 oysters, but oysters of the highest quality, and not the usual bar fare. The fish is perfectly cooked, and the service is excellent.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. The happy hour oysters at one dollar per our Oyster was unbelievable. We didn’t have one dish that displeased. Coming here next time in a minute.

Loved the $1 per Oyster and the selection of oysters as well (this was a special before 6:45). Great place to get your seafood fix (as their name implies) with choice of full sized entrees (liked their spaghetti with squid ink) or tapas style (tried their fish tacos and slider which were good). Worth a stop if you like fish:seafood
