Seafood
Crave Fishbar Midtown is a vibrant, convivial restaurant in Manhattan serving an inspired seafood menu from chef Todd Mitgang. An eclectic mix of reclaimed materials and custom made chairs and tables lend a beachy, rustic feel to the space, which houses a 25-foot-long bar where guests can order from the full dinner menu along with cocktails and wine from a mounted bottle display. Journey up to the 2nd floor and watch an army of shuckers plating raw bar platters. Approachable, sophisticated dishes feature local seafood, crudos, and meat dishes that are thoughtfully prepared with both familiar and exotic ingredients. Crave Fishbar has taken its place as a neighborhood fixture, providing locals and newcomers alike with a elegant, inviting experience.

This was a great experience. Perfect merging of neighborhood pub and fancy restaurant. The oysters were salty, briny deliciousness. The fish tacos were amazing. Everything was really terrific. The martinis were cold and perfect.

Food and service consistently good. Noise level can be an issue on busy nights but it’s worth it for the overall quality!

Neighborhood gem. Amazing happy hour oyster special. All of the food is fantastic. The staff is very friendly. I recommend the salmon tosadas and the calamari. Really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The fries are fantastic!

I met a client there for the Oyster happy hour. It was great. The food and service were first rate. The problem came later. The problem was with the front desk/seater. Although I made a reservation through OpenTable and checked in, I was reported as a "no show." And this despite the fact that I paid with a credit card, so they had proof I was there. So far, not the end of the world. My wife called the restaurant that evening to try to straighten things out. She spoke to someone who: refused to check the credit card receipts until my wife gave her the time, amount of the charge and what we had; then reported that I had actually double booked with my guest (not true); that the guest was named Steven (also not true); and so forth. Ultimately, she agreed to report me as having shown up (as I had in fact done) as an "accommodation." But not after essentially calling me and my wife liars. The restaurant, of course, has the opportunity to make this right. But they haven't tried to do that yet. So I am on the fence about ever going back, despite the fact that the rest of the experience was great. One irony is that this reservation was not even eligible for OpenTable points. Despite this, I would probably recommend the place to a friend, but with some misgivings.

The food is so fresh and delicious that you won’t mind the noise level. The service was outstanding. Snapper was one of the best pieces of fish I ever had - just plain grilled, just delicious. Delicata squash side dish was heavenly. Warm cookie a la mode was worth every calorie.

I always love coming here. Server was super nice, as were the bussers. One of the best oyster happy hours in the city. Also: the fried fish sliders are PHENOMENAL. Great selection of wine and cocktails. Comfy seating with plenty of space and attentive service. Always down to return!

Went on a Sunday night, so perhaps the food was not as fresh as usual. But the shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were absolutely tasteless. My friend ordered tartare which was brought to her without any bread--not even a cracker. We both got barramundi for the main course. It was tasty, but nothing special. Servers were pleasant and accommodating but the service seems scattered. For example, we both ordered cold appetizers-so why was one brought right away and we had to ask for the other before it came out?

Possibly the best seafood I've ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh, well portioned, and well seasoned.

Hits and if I'm paying upper 20's to upper 30's for food, I don't imagine cramped booth seating. In any case, we had oysters during the happy hour and those were delightful! Really fresh! As for the main entree, out of the 4, only 1 could be rated as GREAT - the seared yellowfin tuna. All the ingredients went well to make the dish a winner. The cavatelli I just couldn't enjoy it because of the aforementioned reasons. So to sum it all, I feel the overall experience at this restaurant would prevent me from returning or recommending this place.
