   Sat waiting for nearly 40min before allowing to get our carvery, with 2 young toddlers this was difficult to keep them entertained as they were hungry. . Lack of food choice for vegetarian/vegan. Little over priced in my opinion but overall food was ok.

   First time in the Crafty Hound. The restaurant is lovely. The staff were really pleasant. They catered well for our 1 and 2 year old. The food was fantastic - portions were huge. Only went for the main and was struggling to finish it! The price for what we got was brilliant value. The baby bowl which was shared between our 2 children was only £1.50. We will be back asap! Popped my head into the bar which was packed but will look forward to trying a few pints in there soon

   Really impressed with the service we received and the food was delicious and piping hot! Really lovely atmosphere and not bad noisy just lots of families having a good time. Didn’t bother us at all, would def recommend and go again for another meal. The girl who served us couldn’t do enough, she was very attentive. Thanks for a lovely lunch!

    Large group, food all arrived at same time to table was piping hot and very tasty! We got 3 course Sunday lunch menu great value and perfect sized portions! Staff were lovely and friendly would recommend!

    There were 3 of us eating, the restaurant felt cold when we entered it. 🥶We ordered 3 courses off the Sunday menu. The starters were just ok. The slow cooked beef was tough and the roast potatoes were not cooked properly, they were hard and difficult to even cut into. The mashed vegetables had a weird taste of them. We ordered Strawberry pavlova. When it arrived it was just the meringue with 1 strawberry as a decoration at the side of it. I asked the waitress should there not be fresh cream on that. She said yes, but we have run out. There is none left. I couldn't believe it. Had never seen the like of it. We had also ordered coffees. They never came. Disgraceful. Will definitely never be back.

    Limited to the brunch menu our visit was at lunchtime so we weren’t really in the mood for breakfast would have preferred more lunch options. Food was very tasty though will definitely be back to explore evening menu.

    Haven't been here in a long time heard so many good reports about it lately but when we were there yesterday my party was all so disappointed !! meals were cold sides were hard under cooked . The service was ok it just took ages to be serviced!!

    We always live stopping in at the Crafty Hound, whether for a mid-week lunch, Friday evening pints or Sunday roast with the family. The beer and food is always excellent and the service efficient and pleasant. The same family has owned/run the pub for over 40 names, and it’s always been one of our favourites.

    Great wholesome bistro food with excellent friendly service.we especially Lily liked the turkey dinner and beef dishes. Good selection on the menu from dinner to lighter bites. The only reason I don’t give more stars is the wine list which is limited. If the owners could update with a few more selections I would return more often to dine. Overall a great venue which is very local for us to walk to winter and summer.

    Such a lovely place for a nice lunch with family, food was excellent, service was warm, attentive and responsive. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and just a really nice place for good food, which was great value for money.

    We had a fantastic evening. The food was delicious & portions were generous. The staff were very friendly & accommodating. When we told them that we were celebrating a birthday, they put candles in the dessert & played happy birthday throughout the restaurant. We look forward to visiting again soon.

    Great food at Crafty Hound recently. Lots of staff who were very attentive. Had the apple crumble for dessert which was divine - I need to know how the the chef makes his crumble topping!

    This was our 2nd visit in a week and we returned because our 1st visit was really good. This time we weren't as happy! The pate starter was lacking in taste and had a lumpy consistency and the potato skins were quite soggy. I wouldn't be surprised if these were pre-purchased. My wife's salmon was very nicely done but the mashed potato was heavy and somewhat tasteless as if it had been reheated. The steak in my steak sandwich was cooked to perfection but the tobacco onions were seriously over-salted, so much so that instead of seasoning the food it overpowered it! Will we be back? I'm not sure. When you go out for a meal you expect it to be better than you can make at home and this week that wasn't the case.
