Craft & Barrel
We chose this restaurant based on reviews and reservations available. We arrived for our Valentines Day dinner to be asked if we had reservations (we did) and asked if we were there to see the band or for dinner (dinner). There were maybe 2 other tables with people in the whole place (not sure why the reservation mattered at this point). We were seated next to the stage. We ordered drinks and dinner. The NY strip was big but 1/2 was fat. The loaded baked potato was just a potato with butter and shredded cheese and potato was small. My burger was just ok. Definitely not hand pattied and presumably frozen about 5 min before being put on my bun. I was underwhelmed. Band was great but pretty loud when seated next to the stage. It was more bar food than good food. I think I had my hopes up due to the reviews but I was disappointed. I don’t think we will be back unless we are there for the band.
We did not eat here because we were stopped at the door, they questioned my reservation and then told us there was a $5 per person cover charge which we did not know ahead of time. It was not on their website. They had bad attitudes as well. They were not nice about any of it. We will never eat here.
Awesome experience. Our waitress had a challenging job taking care of our section and did an excellent job. We will definitely return, as we had such a positive experience
Fun and relaxing as always!!
Great band! Our server was very patient with my picky date! I really enjoy this place and look forward to going again. It is local and worth your time!
Good local restaurant for casual meal or relaxed end-of-day moment. not fancy, but friendly
Pretty good food. I recommend the mac n cheese
Had high expectations. But came away highly disappointed. I would like to first point out that the wait staff was great. The food and the management not so much.
It is a great little place. The food was good. The Buffalo chicken wrap will set you ablaze if you are not used to hot stuff. Drinks were good, just expensive.
Terrible service. Food was not good.
Did not have our reservation Food was over cooked. Service was only redeeming value.
Did not enjoy underage children in the bar area after the band started playing even though the parents were in the band!!!!!
Good food. Not your average Opentable restaurant.
We arrived early in the night so there was not many people there yet. We really enjoyed the service and food. We had such a great experience, we are taking friends next week.
Great good food with an excellent selection of draft beers. Some nice happy hour specials, and the bands seem great and are loud (the sound system is kicking). They start sound checks about 7:30 but start at 9. Bathrooms were very clean, we were surprised with this place.
Came for the Valentine's special. I'm picky about my steak. It was perfectly done. Stayed for the karaoke, proposed as part of a song by changing the lyrics.
Overall, a great night.
Saturday was the first time at Craft and Barrel. My wife and I along with our friends were skeptical at first but it turned out to be an awesome place. The food was excellent and they have a lot of beers. All of the waitresses that we dealt with were helpful and patient. The fried pickles weren't soggy and greasy, which is rare and good! The only gripe we had was later in the evening. It started out quiet and we could all talk casually which was great. Then the band started playing and it was SO loud we just gave up on talking. They could have simply turned the amps down a level or 5.
Everything was awesome until someone started smoking. This restaurant is outside Greenville city limits, so I guess smoking is allowed. It ruined the whole experience for me because I am allergic.
The wall on your right as you walk inhould be removed so that viewing of the stage is increased thus decreasing crowding at the steps.
Enjoyed the meal. Great selection of beer. The deviled eggs are a must. Service was excellent.
Great place to enjoy live muisc and dinner!! Thank you!!
Husband and wife having date night
Service was excellent
Food was excellent
Food was good, beer was cold, music was good and service excellent and staff friendly
This was the first time we went to Craft and Barrel. The food was good and the music was ok. I hadn't heard of them before. I was hoping that people would be dancing.
Birthday dinner before the hockey game.
We had a good time at Craft and Barrel. Posirives: Our food was good. The service was acceptable. The beer selection was plentiful. Negative: The "fans of the band" were seated near us and were a bit annoying; however, this was not the fault if the restaurant. It's a nice place if you live close by... We have other options closer to home.
The food was excellent but a little overpriced. The bartender was very attentive. Maybe we were there too early as the place was almost empty but it seems like it could be a great place to hang out with friends.
Local friends recognized an upgraded ambience from past setups.
Food was very good in general, except for a butter fried chicken that was not good at all.
Very Friendly staff#
My husband and I have been married 42 years this year. We have a night we go out every weekend that is just for us and really enjoy going out and love it most when there are live entertaining bands that are fun to listen to and dance to like Hot as a Pepper, WPOS. Would love to see bands like them more often or like The Sound Committee and others! Thanks!
The fried green tomato BLT was the best sandwich I have had in years. Highly recommended.
The drinks, food, and service was excellent! However, during the day it seemed rather dark inside almost with a night club vibe. Loved the burlap mason jar lights on the table, the wood around the bar, and the fireplace outside, but the lack of natural light and blue lights took away from the ambiance.
Not family friendly. Asked the server to change the TV station from what was playing that we would rather our young children not watch and she never did. We were the only patrons seated in that part of the restaurant- the few others were up in the bar seating area. The server was abrupt when dropping off our check and also when returning change. The food was very overpriced. My basic salad was 12 for what looked like prepackaged ingredients with a refrigerated "grilled" chicken breast on top that had been reheated.
Table was reserved and we met the owners who were very nice and explained their bar concept. We will return
Had a surprise party here for my friend's 40th birthday. The AC was supposedly out, so we were miserably hot and my cake melted a bit. the AC was turned on about 20 minutes before we left. The service was not good. I had to open a tab at the bar because neither the birthday boy nor I could get the server to come take our order. We also were completely ignored when it was time to take the food order, we were at a table with 10 other people and she took everyone's but ours. Food was good, my order was wrong, but knew I would never get the waitress' attention to get it corrected.
The AC being "out" completely ruined everything for me that night, I took a lot of effort into his day and it to me it was ruined.
Food was delicious! I got the fried green tomato BLT with pimento cheese and fries! Delicious! Also got the mango cheesecake which was also very good. Service was a little slow, which was weird sees how we were the only table in there at the time, but was still a great experience
Fries and cheesesticks were good. Burger was hand done, but not overwhelming.
Stay away from their version of Scampi, as it is not your fresh with butter, garlic and angel hair, it was a twisted pasta with what tasted like old bay.
Bar - yes.
Restaurant - not really
The Craft & Barrel is a good neighborhood find. Nice selection of craft beers, but make sure you know the pricing. Had a great brown beer on tap and got the bill $7/pint. The food was good, basic American cuisine. My burger was flavorful and the french fries were cooked right. They had a live band that night. The band was great however, we booked our reservation at 6:45 hoping to have some time before the band. They were setting up and testing their equipment the entire time so conversation was difficult.
Classic low-key sports bar but with great service and awesome food. Not your usual date-night locale but it was nice for the 2 of us. Decent variety of local and import beers as well.
every time we have dined there has been a positive experience.....good service with drinks and very good food.....and their choices of entertainment adds a good taste to their services....would recommend this business for any type of venue you might be looking for...and "yes" , we will visit again and bring friends
