Crab Spot Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I took my husband to dinner for his birthday. He loves this place. The drinks are amazing...The slope and St. George drinks especially. The food was really good. We shared The captains dinner for 2. Everything was well seasoned. The prices aee just a tad bit high. Just one let down if you're not sitting in a booth setting you may not be comfortable. The tables are small and are lined up too close with other tables.
We were celebrating 3 birthdays. Majority of my party was late and I assumed the man at the door was perturbed by it. When the remainer of my party of 9 showed up, we were seated immediately, lucky cause we were close to losing our table. I did not enjoy my entrée of grilled shrimp scallop and octupus. It tasted like they used too much butter even on the rice pilaf. The rest of my party liked their food and the appetizers were great. Good drinks from the bar as well. So after we spent almost 1 hour and 45 minutes, paid our $450 check, the manager came and stated that he needed the table for more customers. i could not believe that ish! I refrained from saying anything to the him as I already decided I would not be returning and would be writing a review. As we were leaving, there was 1 WHOLE couple waiting at the door.....👀😑.... and there was a booth available. I also would like to add that my son claimed that the manager was watching him funny when we were waiting at the bar for my family, I thought my son was being paranoid ... but maybe he wasnt. I regret not saying anything to the manager, I also feel that it would have been a waste of time. As i said before I will never go back and feel quite offended.
Waiter Alexander was almost unbearable, besides throwing towelettes on the table, spilling water between the legs of a seated young man, and wiping it instead of asking him to stand so he could clean it up, then spilling twice again then when questioned what was wrong, replying that he was tired, had a long day, played a hockey game prior to working and still had to work; he told also told one young lady in the group when she asked if they had virgin pina coladas, that she would've heard a blender if they had coladas! The crab cakes, two of them on a platter and each had a different taste..not good; the crab legs and FF were good and bbq chicken. I really don't want to write any more, just know that everyone in the group was dissatisfied with the service and the chef for the most part. We definitely did not want to pay the tip...will not visit this establishment again.
When we walked in the young lady at the front offered us a seat right at the front of the door. I asked her politely if we could sit in the back since it was empty tables she said she have to ask her boss but she seemed annoyed that I asked. I wouldnt go back there due to my first impression from that young lady. Secondly she didnt give us the kids menu and my son was with us. I was literally going to walk out this restaurant but it was a dinner reservation for Father's Day and didnt want to spoil it for him. I will not recommend this place and I WOULDN'T go back there. She made a lasting impression on me, please advise her to treat all her customers equally.
This isn't my first time to The Crab Spot (approximately my 5th or 6th visit); however I was stunned by the way in which the Manager treated my party of 9 for a birthday dinner. I made a reservation on a Monday night at roughly 9/10 and followed up with an email in regards to a birthday dinner that coming Friday for 10 people at 9:45 and used my credit card to reserve. Okay so I believe it is all set and we are ready to have a beautiful evening 4 days later. At 9 o clock on the night of service the manager calls to say that my entire party should be there by 9:45 and the orders must be in by 10:30 because he will be closing the bar and kitchen at that time. I am of course on my way to the venue at this time and thinking well how inappropriate to call the patron at this time to relay such a message and do you expect guest to know what they are ordering upon entry. After getting to the restaurant at 9:30 the manager still insisted that the entire party had to order all drinks and food by 10:30, and in a hoggish and ignorant tone. I have been to this restaurant multiple times, the food is good and drinks are always well made but I honestly felt disrespected and thrown off by the behavior of the manager. This was a surprise birthday dinner and changing the venue would have been last minute and ruin plans as the birthday girl was in a cab on her way and was clueless as to what was occurring. I must say everyone enjoyed their drinks even though we had to order two at a time and the food was a bit salty maybe due to the back end rush. But my main concern and upset was with the way we were treated despite approaching the manager in a very respectful manner. I'm glad everyone was seated by 9:50 and ordered by 10:15/10:20. We were cleaned around as though it was time for us to leave even after a $600.00 check. I felt robbed honestly because I have never ever ever been treated with such disregard at a restaurant. Our waiter, and bartender were fabolous! Rant complete!
Anniversary dinner at The Crab Spot is special because The Crab Spot is special. The food is to shelf and the value is, too. Excellent service with a cool neighborhood vibe. When we think seafood, we're loyalists to this find that we came to know thru Groupon.
The initial cc hold for the reservation of my large party frustrated me, but the food was amazing the drinks are great and the service was great. Low music, which was a good selection of song would of like a little more volume. The overall experience was great I would definitely return .
Made a reservation on monday. My mom loves this place so i decided to take her. We arrived 20 mins early and requested a booth. They declined to give us a booth which 2 was available. Theu said it for bigger parties. After we was seated at a table in the middle of the floor. 5 mins later two other parties of 2 were seated at a booth. Spoke w the manager to let him kno my mom felt uncomfortable at the table we were seated at. He was rude and the postitve energy turned negative. My mom didnt even want to eat anymore. We ate a meal and ordered crablegs to go.i will no longer support this place even tho the food is good. Customer service is important to me & that night was horrible
My husband and I loved it there.. We were looking for a good crab place without having to go all the way the Queens at Jor's Crab Shack. We were happy we did... Foid was awesome, staff were pleasant and friendly.. A great dining experience. A definitely coming back.
