The crabs didn't come crack per the menu and we had to send them back twice.
Still working out the kinks of reopening. Our waitress ended her shift while we were still eating. Our entrees were delivered before our soup and salad. We ordered steam broccoli and it was served room temperature as of it had been sitting out. We want to reward restaurants that have chosen to open, but this was not a good experience.
Crab fingers tasted old and lobster on the roll was tough. We will not be going back.
I wish I could give them a good re
The service was slow, but it was understandable was this was their first day open after quarentine so we assumed the were working out the bugs of the new process.
Waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Then after another 45 minutes without a server even walking past the table we decided to leave.
The seafood was overcooked. The service was poor and everything was overpriced. We will not be returning.
The ambience is lacking. The food was good but nothing outstanding to drive an hour to get back to. If I lived in the area I would go back.
The crabs were amazing. The snow crabs were well seasoned, however
, the rest of the food was extremely bland, the crabcakes were super sweet (disgusting), my boiled potatoes were cold. The drinks were good. The lemon drop was amazing. It was cool overall, but, still prefer juicy crab, minus their wait times, sorry!
Server Michael and the food made it worthwhile. The bartender was late and we couldn’t get drinks
Had the crab legs. Loved Alaskan and Dungeness. Snow were okay.
It was a great experience with a few minor exceptions. They were out of crab claws and soft shell crab.
Worst customer service ever and no manager on duty!
We were celebrating our 33rd anniversary and wanted to try a new place. Not as impressive as expected. Appetizers not that great. Do not get oyster Rockefeller. Main course was good. We will go back, but not in a hurry.
Interior could be spruced up a little. Food good. Service good.
We had heard about Crab404 in the space that used to be Food101. Read the customer reviews. They stressed ordering the right things was important. All endorsed the lobster rolls. So we went with that intent. We can confirm they were delicious! Also ordered the crab cake appetizer. Also delicious. Finally we had a most personable and attentive server, Roe. He made the experience pleasant. So, those are the positives. In critique, the place had a droning background music going, was kind of dark and to us looked like Food101 warmed over. The caesar salad we also ordered was mediocre. And the beer selections were
not to our taste. The restaurant needs to enlarge the offerings with some dark ales.
We think going forward the best idea would be to order the lobster rolls to go and swing by to pick them up.
Good So amazing
Good food, nice that I live close by, will be back. The crab roll was incredible, tasty and very buttery. She crab soup intense.
I went twice in 3 days. Lobster roll is amazing. I would recommend.
Paris was our server and she was fantastic! Food and service wa DC really good. We'll be back soon
High expectations, very disappointed. Mediocre food, poor service. Amateur version of Red Lobster.
Lobster Rolls were amazing.
No Fancy sauce.. just lobster meat on a butter roll bun... absolutely wonderful.
Drawn butter on side .
Loaded potato chip fell short due to temperature. Served Cold.
Replace with some nice hot french fries. Great Fries.
Brandon, our waiter was so attentive and very knowledgeable .
Love his honesty .
We made reservations for 8 at 7:45. We waited about 20 minutes to get seated in a room with 3 other 8 tops. It was so very loud we could barely hear our conversations. There was room in the main dining room so I am not sure why all big parties were crammed in the small room closed off from the rest of the restaurant.
Our server was the most inattentive server I have ever had. We ordered apps and waited 30-40 minutes after flagging him down to order our food. He never came back to ask for drink orders. With crab claws you need the crackers. I had to go ask and he said he was working on it. That took about 10 minutes to finally have someone deliver them to the table.
We were charged an automatic 20% gratuity which he neglected to tell my husband who gave him an additional 20% tip. So he basically got a 50% tip for the worst service I have had in an expensive restaurant. It was his lucky night but definitely not ours. We live out of town so I didn’t have the opportunity to go back and ask for the extra tip money to be refunded.
The food was just ok. We had to salt everything. Not a ton a flavor otherwise. It does come out quickly though.
Music was awful and too loud making the atmosphere aggravating. Odor of cleaners. Server was very nice. Food was ok.
Food - Good. Low country was excellent. Crabcakes were good, but significantly overpriced. salad – pretty straightforward just very basic side salad. Gumbo and bisque were good, but not out of this world.
Service - Marginal. Server, while friendly, was either inexperienced or not a good server. For example, when I asked salad dressings response was “we don’t very many - ranch, a vinaigrette, and another one.“ I had to ask “could you go find out what the third dressing is?” Initially ordered scallops, and were told “we’re out of scallops tonight.” No alternative was suggested, just a blank stare. I had to request that the server bring salt/pepper to the table – which the server forgot to do so we had to request/remind the server again.
Price - A bit on the iPhone, and has mentioned the crabcakes are overpriced. Too pretty standard crabcakes - good but neither large nor out of this world in taste, fairly thin. Priced at $35. Two people cups of soup, one small side salad to split, two entrées, iced tea equals $76/77 before tip.
In summary - Basically a neighborhood food place, good food, priced like a upscale restaurant without the upscale benefits. I would definitely return if the food was 20% lower in price – but at these prices the service and atmosphere should be better.
Average food quality with not much flavor. Feels more like a red lobster than a fine dining restaurant, but with smaller portions. Service was good.
Food was not great. Half my crab legs tasted like ammonia, which is the first sign that seafood is going bad. Staff did not follow the special instructions I left in my reservation.
Honestly the atmosphere was good and the food looked delicious but had no flavor but if your looking for a good drink they are amazing!
Delicious food, great wait staff, nice ambiance, family friendly and good date night. service can be a bit slow but the staff and the food overall supersedes. This is a must stay!!!!
Good choice for moderate seafood. Lobster rolls were meaty, servers warm with chives and we're very good. The poke app is also a good choice. We had good service, but some of the others around us were not so pleased.
The lobster roll, fries & salads were great. The wine by the glass is WAAAY overpriced!!
AMAZING!! From food to services to management everything exceeded my expectations. Food was out of this world I got the crab boil super good flavor fresh seafood, serve was very attentive. Oysters Rockefeller out of this world! Key lime pie was AWESOME! great place!!
Great ! From the warm greeting from the hostess to great food and service!we'll be back soon
Blue crab claws and shrimp appetizer was ok. Lobster roll was small but amazing. Hushpuppies were burnt. I saw other reviews of them being burnt and overcooked but dismissed the. But yep, they were burnt. Either they need to change their batter or lower the heat so the outside doesn’t burn while the inside cooks.
First visit to Crab404. Enjoyed the Ceviche - large portion - fresh and delicious. Lobster roll rivaled the best in Boston! Lots on the menu to try. Will be back
It was amazing! The food was delicious !
Very good seafood - highly recommend the Mahi Mahi fish tacos (also had them made with Shrimp) and they both were delicious. The Cajun Crab dip for an appetizer was quite tasty. The Lobster Roll is very good and the fries are as well (coming from a 19-year old).
The service is very attentive. I think this restaurant deserves a try. Glad it came to the neighborhood.
We enjoyed our food and service from beginning to the end. We had several appetizers: hushpuppies, crab dip, crab cakes, and calamari. For entrees we had the lobster roll, fish tacos, and fried shrimp. Three Crab 404 sauce was delicious. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner any day of the week. I'll be back for sure.
THE FOOD IS AH-MAAAAAZING!
