CPB @ The Colony Hotel
This hotel dining space is comfortable and beautiful. The service was atrociously bad. The restauant only had 2-3 tables filled, it was almost empty yet our lunch took 2 hours. The waiter just disappeared constantly and was gone for extemely long intervals. We had to find someone to go get our waiter to even receive the check. The food was average. :(
Loved my experience! Will definitely be back. The food, service and ambiance is just divine.
We loved our dinner there! The service was a reminder of the caring and respectful ways of old, the food was delicious and the piano and band took us back to the good times! Thank you, Maitre Weiner and Kerrin, our server, for making my wife’s Birthday dinner a memorable one!
Perfect all around! Will come back!
The preparation and combination of unique ingredients exceeded our expectations for what you would typically find at a hotel restaurant. Went for dinner on a Sat. and enjoyed everything- a great 3 piece jazz trio as well. Food and service was outstanding. Our favorites: blue crab toast, the oyster amuse bouche which we asked to order more of, the pompano entree with grilled watermelon and mint!!, even the dessert was an elevated take on key lime pie- paired with a basil coulis and canteloupe. So GOOD. Also enjoyed the old school Palm Beach ambience which included some old timers decked out in their finest (a lady wearing a fur stole in mid August) who were there to dance. It was a great experience. We look forward to going again.
My husband and I had the most fabulous dinner Friday night at CPB. The menu is a selection of courses and you can pick 2,3, or 4 courses from a good size menu selection. I had the tortellini as an appetizer, the roasted chicken and the tres leches dessert.
It was so incredibly delicious. My husband loved his meal too. The chef is very creative and certainly knows his stuff. I’ve already started telling all my friends they have to try it. The service is great as well, with a super friendly staff. They even have a DJ Friday night and I believe live music Saturday night. Call and check, but absolutely go for dinner. I can’t wait to go back.
Phenomenal! The Colony dining room, now called CPB, has been completely redone. It is now more of a casual island decor, a lounge feel in the same room as the large bar. The Royal Room, which was formerly used as a dinner theatre, has been turned into the formal dining room. That is not used in the summer. Of course, one can always choose to sit outside.
We each ordered the two course dinner. You can pick and choose across 3 different menus. I had the avocado-cucumber gazpacho, which was creamy (without any use of cream), refreshing and delicious with multiple levels of flavors. My husband had the tuna tartare, the best we have ever had. My entree was roasted halibut with a myriad of different vegetables and flavors. My husband had the duck with many accompaniments. Both were excellent.
Besides the delicious food, here is what sets the Colony apart. They really know how to treat customers. The service is so good, such a rarity. And the complimentary courses - amazing! The light as a feather gluten free corn and sweet potato rolls, the complimentary risotto cheese and rice balls, watermelon feta cucumber salad, fried oyster appetizer - they just kept coming - the 4 chocolates and then ending with a chocolate chip cookie each - homemade, of course! All on the house! We we were treated like royalty. We will be back - maybe as early as next week!
We stay at the colony once a year in August for our anniversary and always dine in the restaurant. The atmosphere is so nice, live music and dancing which is great! It's just part of the Colony experience. Not sure if we were huge fans of the revamped pre fix menu but our meal was wonderful regardless. Its just such a special place. Cant wait to go back.
The Lobster Salad is phenomenal, always a lovely venue with wonderful service.
And the music is superb - Copeland Davis is world class jazz pianist and the trio are great - they enjoy their music and the audience.
Came for the “Boozy BBQ”. Sounded like a fun event. Once we were seated the server brought us water. That was the last we saw of her! BBQ was a small buffet with food sitting out that had been there for some time!!! Burgers were so well done they were not edible. Rest of the buffet was mediocre at best. No one to assist or ask if
you needed anything. I requested the Bottomless Rose which was an extra $35.00 charge. Constantly had to search for my server for more Rose’? Had to place my used dished on another table as server never came by to clear table. Server never came by to see if we need anything during our entire stay. Yet, I got to pay a 20% gratuity for NO service. Ridiculous!!! I would not have left this non existent server any gratuity. Was not informed they added a 20 percent gratuity until she brought me the check?
Would not return...
The only place where we dine when we are in Palm Beach.
The meal was just spectacular. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the piano music a pleasant surprise.
Brunch with my daughters. Fun spot in Palm Beach with that Palm Beach style.
My wife and I chose CPB for our anniversary dinner, and it was an excellent decision. Each course of food was better than the last. The host was welcoming and attentive, and our server even more so. Maybe the best thing about the room was how the evening vibe naturally progressed from a drink, to dinner, to lounging and enjoying the 3-piece band (who ventured through everything from jazz classics and standards to current pop, with the occasional semi-obscure selection for balance) without needing to change seats or ever feeling like we were rushed or "in the way". Overall a great night out, and we'll definitely return!
Prettiest dining room in Palm Beach coupled with delicious food and good service.
Lovely but service extremely slow and not crowded at all. Service should have been better
Lovely restaurant inside a beautiful hotel. The food was delicious , the service perfect ( thanks to Richard) and we were pleased by live music from a real legend Copeland Davis. We couldn’t ask more !
The place is not exactly the restaurant, this is the lounge. There are only a few standard tables, the rest are lounge tables with low sits. Every Monday there is Trivia game. I recommend to call the hotel for other events if you mean a dinner, not entertaining. Open Table should have an info about it at the reservation: if would be confusing to bring a colleague there.
The food is good. You are choosing between two, three and four dishes set price. Nothing to rave about, but everything was edible.
The decor is beautiful. Garden theme, orchids on the walls, sofas and chair fabric is gorgeous. Very relaxed and pleasant space to be.
The service was as shameful for the restaurant as it possibly could be. Friendly and enthusiastic, but totally unprofessional and helpless. You know this style: asking ifeverythinggoodsofar every time while you are chewing and obviously do not need anything (especially to praise the annoying waiter) and never come back is you asked to bring something. We had to chase him for the check as well.
Old school Palm Beach! Great experience.
Summer. lunch special a great value. Bland gazpacho overcome by beautiful presentation. Prettiest dining venue in PB.
Wonderful service! Lovely ambiance! And the best music!
We had the best meal here last weekend. Everything tasted delicious and the presentation was stunning. Excellent server too - I wish I remembered his name. I felt like it was a very good value. Would return to this restaurant even if I weren’t staying at this hotel!
Great dinner and awesome ambience! Took some time in the beginning to have anyone come to our table. Waited around 12 minutes before someone asked us if we wanted anything to drink but after that the service improved. Overall would highly recommend for dinner. Food was amazing.
My favorite spot ......brunch, or lunch, and great happy hour
Great for lunch by the pool. Inside is very quiet and dark.
We went Saturday night . Live music started at 9 with an excellent pianist. The food and service were wonderful. Drinks were great too. We will definitely come back
My friend and I had a great dining experience. We were seated outside next to the swimming pool. Service is very friendly and casual; food is excellent (pieces of art on the plate). Great ambiance! definitely worth the visit.
Always lovely outside dining especially at breakfast!!
Must go back again soon. Thanks
Great food and great atmosphere by the pool!
Lunch at the pool. Menu a bit short but adequate. Lovely setting
My husband and I spent several occasions at CPB including Christmas Day , and enjoyed every visit immensely ,so I thought it would be perfect for Easter.
I made reservation using Open Table for myself and six guests on April 21, 2019 at 5 pm for Easter Sunday dinner. Being of an advanced age we respect the holiday , so men wore jackets and ties and women were dressed accordingly. The hostess brought us outside inches from the water at the pool with children running and splashing . A little awkward don't ya think? No , we didn't want to sit by the pool with jackets and ties on??? So she brought us inside to a back room , dark and dingy I might add. While the restaurant was completely empty . I asked for the round table I saw which was set for 6, "may we have that table please", I asked . "no, it is reserved " she responded. "yes it was me , I reserved it" "No reserved for someone else", the hostess said. Finally , the waiter who was very accommodating set up another round table. The service was excellent, food awful, the last time we were there we experienced fine dining, this food was not good. Five of the seven people will never return. I am so embarrassed to have brought them there.

I have to admit I felt disappointed this time at CPB. Have dined several times at CPB and couldn't wait to return.
Having stopped last minute on Saturday and looking forward to a wonderful lunch poolside with my husband in tow, only to find service didn't even make the scale and food was a total disappointment.
The freshness and vibrancy of fruit plate with scoop of CPB's curried chicken salad was subpar. I don't know if I caught the tail end of the restaurant's produce and stale curried chicken salad, but the freshness was not present so consequently I suffered the consequences. My husband ordered the turkey club, which was mushy, to say the least and looked old.
The servers are usually friendly and efficient, but on this recent visit, I practically had to go into the kitchen to find, ask for and followup items for our table.
I am a little turned off to this establishment and I'm hoping it had been just a busy Saturday crowd that threw everything off at CPB. Will not return in the immediate future.
Wonderful Palm Beach classic with a quaint chintzy vibe you'd expect. Great Decor. I was turned on by the dinner menu but the Brunch menu leaves a bit longing for. It was not bad but it could do do much better. I had a Ceaser's Salad to which my waiter forgot to add the Chicken I had ordered with it, it came shortly there after. Service, needless to say, tho he tried, was lacking professionalism. Once we finish our main meals, a check was dropped on our table without asking if wed like tea, coffee or dessert! I called the waiter out on it, he apologized. While we were awaiting our teas and coffees someone came around and collected the sugar caddy from our table, I promptly called this out as well since we were not finished yet. The second servers where all lovely and quick, hats off to them.
CPB is one of the little secret restaurant gems hidden in The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach.
Whether you are dining poolside or inside the experience of dining at CPB is very special. The atmosphere reminds me of my vacations in Bermuda and having Lunch or Tea while there.
The indoor bar and main dining room were recently redone and updated. There is still plenty of lush greenery in the room contributing to make one feel like they are one tropical island!
CPB is great for a festive ladies luncheon and is versatile enough to host a sensible “power breakfast or lunch”... my kind of place.
The servers are friendly and efficient and willing to please. Marie is great and attentive.
Quiet conversations can be had as well as larger group events in several different areas of The Colony Hotel.
Will return to CPB. The curried chicken salad and fruit plate is out of this world! Food is delicious.
Among the best food in Palm Beach, we sat by the pool and felt a real tropical resort vibe, even though we live here. Had the simplest prix-fixe menu they offered, no dessert and coffee and still managed to spend $200 for two people. Even by Palm Beach standards that is a lot!
Our dinner at the Colony Hotel was the best, most delightful meal we have had in many years in the Oalm Beach area. The presentation was beautiful, the taste was fabulous, the choice was plentiful, and the service was excellent.
