Over the years, the Cowgirl has hosted many famous CW recording artists including Dolly Parton, Reba MacIntire, Bonnie Rait, Roseanne Cash, Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus, Roger McGuinn and many others. We are proud to be a part of uniting true wild-west spirit with the independent, creative energy of NYC.
nice place, food was ok, plastic cups for water, nothing special. it took forever for them to clean the table when we were done. we had to sit with the dirty plates for almost an hour. the only good thing was the outdoor sitting.
Bathroom is hard access for handicapped.
Food is very good, all that we have tried there.
Drinks are good, fairly priced.
Little noisy, but it's NYC.
We go 2-3 times a year, favorite place in that area.
Cowgirl is a favorite. Food and service are consistently excellent. Recent visit was on a cold and rainy Sunday for brunch. Perfect day for perfect comfort food. My friend had Chicken Fried Chicken which is my personal favorite. I wanted to vary my choices and opted for Holly Go Lightly - eggs Benedict with spinach instead of meat. Delicious!
Great place for kids and family. We've celebrated many birthday's at Cowgirl. It's a West Village institution. Please go here and keep them in business.
I like this restaurant and have gone now and then for, um, decades. The best part is the ambiance—a fun, lively joint. The food is decent. I love that they are featuring dishes from a nearby Mexican restaurant that closed not too long ago, and that shrimp dish is great. From the regular menu, the portobello mushroom fajitas are delicious. Definitely make a reservation.
Fun place, great for families, and singles. They are offering a special menu of items from the now closed Tortilla Flats, which is a nice tribute to that former West Village institution.
The server had too many tables, waited for refills, food was a bit dry, but kids were hungry so we are what we could...
Our 2nd time here - great food, great for kids, fun drinks for adults!
Great food, huge portions, and great decor. Very unfriendly and unhelpful waiter. Gave no recommendations, never smiled, said hello, and we had to ask for everything including water.
Great happy hour, excellent Tex mex fare in beautiful Greenwich Village. Very popular place especially on weekends, def not for the claustrophobic lol! Great old school location & staff. A favorite.
Unusual and fun place for a hearty BBQ feast when you're in the West Village.
nice experience for all. We met some friends and we all enjoyed it. perfect west village venue .
This is a must go and eat if you are visiting the Village and want a memorable brunch/lunch.
We loved it. Such a fun and classic restaurant.
It is super hard to leave any other review besides amazing for CG, but this time was different. It was a really poor experience do to our server. As always the food, the friendship and the environment is perfect. I have been a fan and long time client for over 10 years now. I rarely use a reservation, but had to because time restraints. My best friend was in town and I had to finally get him to the CG. Our waitress never came back to check on the order, refills or anything. THANK GOD FOR buser's and the host. Any who - I will always come back and you always have a fan. But in a nut shell the waitress sucked. sorry to say!
The ambiance was great but the food was unseasoned. Our waitress was very very friendly but she forgot about us twice. Overall it was just oookkk.
I go to Cowgirl all the time. I'm there every single time I go to NYC. It is a can't-miss place for food and fun. Also booze.
Great value and options for kids. Very family friendly.
Lots of fun and wholesome, delicious food-perfect cornbread and vegetarian chili! Great value! We all enjoyed our brunch.
Some of the food doesn’t really taste like much, but I enjoyed the ambiance and the people. Drink specials were great.
Nachos were good but everything else was ok, It all seemed microwaved
Always a fan, in recent years, I find Cowgirl is the perfect place to bring a large party. With so many menu items to choose from and the affordable prices, it's so easy to please everyone in a party!
Plenty of selections for all dietary restrictions! I'm currently on a no meat plan so had the portobello fajitas. So amazing!
Food quality was good, the value was alright, and the ambiance was nice and Western. Could have been more themed with western styled music (some country, country-rock, bluegrass, etc...)
We greatly appreciate Cowgirl's vegetarian options. It's not the best Tex-Mex restaurant but the food is good and the prices are very reasonable for the West Village.
I have to say I was somewhat disappointed with Cowgirl. I was looking forward to this place after a native Texan recommended it to me. The ambiance was nice and the waitress came quickly to take our order. I ordered the chicken mole special, which may have been my mistake, as it did not live up to standards. My girlfriend's chicken fajitas were a bit better. The frozen margaritas that we had were nothing special. The table where they seated us, which initially appeared nice and secluded, ended up being next to a staff storage room. Every time someone went by I had to move my seat, because there was not enough room between the chair and the entrance to the door.
nice selections on menu, food was dissapointing as well as the atmosphere/service. Expected something different. Made the reservation expecting a crowd, wished we had skipped when we saw no crowd.
OLD SCHOOL NYC. I've been going to CowGirl since it opened when I was just fresh outta college. Still great!
All of the hostesses for Sunday brunch were horrible. Bad attitude and very rude. I made reservations and they sat us later while there were 4 open tables! Out of spite cause I asked if we could be seated on time. The tall blonde hair dude needs to not be in customer service!
I love this place! Tha back ribs are perfectly smoked and soft! Best in NYC!
Great for lunch/brunch. Casual and eclectic. Good vibe.
Cowgirl is fantastic! I've been coming to the restaurant for years and it never disappoints. The margaritas are a must and the food is great. The staff is welcoming and friendly. I can't wait until I eat there again.
Fun vibe and American/Mexican food. Good fusion - especially these days!
It was my birthday and we had a party of 8, and y'all made everything fun and easy. Thanks!
There is something about this place that keeps me (and many others) coming back. From the impecible service to the black-eyed pea salsa you will not go wrong having a fun and satisfying dinner at Cowgirl (Hall of Fame).
Such a cute place. Very kid friendly although it wasn’t swarmed with kids. Had plenty of kids choices and lots to keep my 5 year old occupied and good food to keep me & my husband happy too. Casual and great for a Sunday brunch. A LITTLE pricy for breakfast but what isn’t is NY. Would go back every time I was in the city if I could.
Best frozen margs I’ve ever had! And unreal nachos
I lived around the corner from CG for many years in the late 80's and so glad it is still there had been in more than 5 years we went for brunch which is great as it goes till 4pm I hate when brunch ends at 230pm food is basic its portions have never been small most of the staff is always having a good time with the customers just love only sad note the buttermilk biscuits were rolls bread whatever not a biscuit
cowgirl is one of my favorite places in the village, I like the urban western feel. I love country music, I love western movies, I love wearing western shirts, I love burgers, I love beer and, I love red and white checkered tablecloths. so I felt at home right away!
Great vibe and the staff was really accommodating when we were a bit late for our reservation. However, the food needs to be greatly improved
Very friendly service. Great spot for family dining with lots of options. Really enjoyed our evening!
