Cowell & Hubbard
Speedy pre-theater service and pork stack appetizer and salad were perfect.
Our first time here. We’ve heard good things from friends and weren’t disappointed. Outstanding food, perfectly prepared. We both had the scallop entrée and loved it. Service was excellent. Attentive but never intrusive. We told our server that we had theater tickets at 7:30 PM. Our dinners were brought promptly and we got out in plenty of time. Without feeling rushed. Looking forward to returning.
Before the show. Everything was great.
I loved it! It was so nice my first experience was very pleasant!
Made reservations here for dinner before a theatre show. We were seated quickly, but waited 10 minutes before anyone came by to take our drink order. Considering it was July, the restaurant was quite warm, this could have been attributed to being seated near the front of the restaurant. The quality and taste of the food was good, but not outstanding. I could also see behind the host station, and it was a mess. Not what I would expect from a higher end establishment. Overall, I was not impressed.
We had a good experience! This was our second meal here! The food was delicious and fast! We were going to a show down the street and had a drink and peaceful dinner in just under and hour! The noise level was high! We were fairly close to the kitchen!
My wife had the walleye and I had the beef shoulder! Both meals were delightful with enriched taste by their sauces! A good time was had by all
Very good in each category. Manager went above and beyond for a minor inconvenience, hence the superior rating overall.
Server was wonderful, we will request her the next time we have dinner
Shawn is a great server! He was helpful and timely; friendly too!
Creative, delicious seasonal menu that satisfies foodies looking for something different as well as those not adventurous.
Wait staff appeared to be inexperienced. Understandable if it was due to us dining evening after All-star Game when I assumed A Team worked. Couple next to us gave answer to question I asked lady I was dining with. I do not speak loudly. Tables were too close together. Food was excellent.
Get the Duck! But seriously everything is delicious
Dinner before show. Wonderful restaurant. Interesting food.
Crispy chicken liver salad is the reason we go there. Very very good and gluten free, although fried in the fryer with non gluten free items.
Excellent service, looks like they are giving young people a chance in the food service industry.
Cowell and Hubbard was a wonderful dining experience. We arrived in Cleveland for an early dinner before a musical at Connor Palace. We used the valet parking and then walked to the theater. The food was excellent. Our server was delightful. We will definitely visit Cowell and Hubbard again.
First off let me start with we were there at 8:15 on a Saturday night there was not one other table in the restaurant with an occupied guest. The service was poor and there was only other one customer sitting at the bar the food was cold the steak was over done. I certainly would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will definitely not be back. I am not quite sure how this restaurant is still in business!
Wonderful, attentive service. Loved that they had plenty of delicious vegan options. Very pleasant experience.
Excellent food marred by amateurish service. People not paying attention and not well trained. A shame as the food was sooooo good.
First timer. She: a nice salad and a clever seafood "dumplings" dish of morsels of fish, scallop, etc, butter-poached then sauced - excellent. Me: tomato soup (full-flavored, complex) and sautéed walleye. Walleye perfectly cooked, sided with potato and asparagus. The spears were very thin, but stringy and inedible. Service on point. Price point OK.
Had drinks and apps after the play. All was delicious and the service was excellent. Loved our experience there!
We are frequent customers and love to go before a show!
We really enjoyed ourselves. Everyone worked together to insure our satisfaction. We'll be back.
Great as usual. Thanks Zach and keep it up.
Had a nice dinner before a show. Salmon and walleye were excellent. Service was prompt and food was served quickly. Only negative was that the temp in the restaurant was very chilli. Otherwise great.
Excellent service! The Salmon and the Pork Chop dishes were on point! Try the Dresdan Green craft cocktail. It was very tasty coctail, and very refreshing, but only have one, it gave out a monster buzz!
Mom and I went for dinner before seeing Dear Evan Hansen at Playhouse Square. Food was amazing and the service was even better! Thank you for a lovely evening! We will be back!
We only had appetizers, but shouldn’t they be representative of the entrees? The mussels Pom Frites looked great, but after a few minutes, the unimpressive tomato based broth turned the whole thing into mush. And, there were several closed shells. The Thai Chicken Balls were dry and the Chicken Drumstick had no discernible flavor. Very disappointed. Have no interest in returning.
Tables for 2 are too close together, uncomfortable to talk in front of strangers. There were many open tables. We should've asked for a different table. Service by Mike was excellent! My friend had the spaghetti squash which she liked. I had the chicken and it was dry. We went to the ladies' room before leaving and it was filthy. I hope their kitchen is cleaner!
Appreciated being seated in the bar during the World Cup and as a twosome.
Although we were using a gift card which made us seek out this restaurant, we found the experience very pleasurable. Our waiter, Shawn, was very pleasant and knowledgeable and helped us with the menu items. My spring rolls were great. I ordered the strip steak and it was done exactly as I asked...very good. The crème brulee was the best we've ever had. An excellent dining experience!
Our server was great. Martinis were great. Mussels were great. Creme Brulee was amazing. Zero complaints.
It was nice, but the tables are simply too close, we Could hear every conversation near us. The meal was nice and our waiter was very friendly...just not a good location for a quiet romantic dinner before the theater
Service and ambiance was great. We ordered 4 small plates and a salad. Everything was fine - nothing was great.
The service were outstanding, timely and attentive. The food was good, but not amazing. The atmosphere was enjoyable, though a bit noisy.
I randomly tried this place on a weekend in Cleveland. We ordered a few things and the only thing that we liked were the fries. It's a bit expensive. We ate at a few other restaurants that weekend and for the money there are better options
Our waiter, Connor, was so attentive and we enjoyed chatting with him. I ate the braised beef shoulder and it was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Great food. Our server, Shawn, was attentive. Got us to show in timely manner
Service was excellent. Food was very good. We were isolated in the vault for some reason
Lovely dinner and I’ve always liked the space - you never feel crowded. But servers must have asked 4 times if I was done with my plate when I was still eating. A little less attentiveness would be good.
Food was amazing and the service was perfect! The Walleye was wonderful!
