Food was beyond our expectations! Mussels ,Brussels sprouts, bone in ribeye were out of this world! Will visit again when in San Diego again for sure!!! Very impressed with the personalized birthday menu!

My family always goes to celebrate everyone in the family birthdays, like a treat !! Every time the steaks have been incredible delicious, best steak ever ... we were looking forward after Covid 19 - not been able to dine in , we were so excited to go there, all three of us were disappointed as to the quality of the beef for the price, it was not cooked to perfection as before, didn't taste that great.
We hope that this might be temporary as we are coming out of the pandemic and the suppliers / vendors are back to "normal".

It was amazing! As usual and of course! Service was superb .. food to die for! Favorite steak house! Always love to go n never disappointed!

We went for my best friends birthday and we had the most amazing time. Our waiter helped us choose appetizers that were AMAZING. Drinks were amazing. Everything was amazing. 10/10 recommend.

The location of the restaurant even being in downtown San Diego area, it is not a prime location. The price on wines are ridiculous (ie. Melville Santa Rita $80 when the bottle costs less than $20 and at other restaurants they have it around $45-$50).

Wonderful staff especially our server Josh. He was absolutely outstanding. Thanks for making my birthday exceptional! The food is outstanding as well. Perfect rare porterhouse. The steak tartare is what I imagine heaven is made out of. Don’t even get my fiancé started about the Mac and Cheese or that blow your mind banana pudding!

We visited last July while out west for our honeymoon. Made the trip back from UCLA visit to dine there again. Everything is delicious great service.

Went for my husbands birthday after quite the year. Service was amazing, food was delicious, they followed all health guidelines, & was just as amazing as the last time we went!

Small table for 2 while other 2 tops were seated at booths. 20 minute lag for salad after appetizers. Steak was just okay and macaroni and cheese was dry.

Always a good experience at Cowboy Star. It's worth every penny.
So happy to see them open again and we'll be there to support them.

It is always such a treat to come here. The staff are incredibly attentive and the food is fantastic. On our most recent trip, my husband and I ordered a flank and a ribeye and added a scallop for each of us, 3oz of king crab, mushrooms, and chimichurri. The server offered to bring the meats out family style and it was all cooked to perfection! The meals also came with asparagus and the best mashed potatoes ever. The wine list is diverse and the crème brûlée is divine. We recommend Cowboy Star to everyone looking for a really great steak. So pleased!

Our favorite steakhouse in San Diego. First time back since the initial shutdown a year ago. Just as good as we remember it. Get the bread pudding for dessert- you won’t regret it.

We had a great experience. We started with the Duke, a cocktail I highly recommend. Josh M. greeted us with a smile and was happy to serve us! We had appetizers, T-bone, Rib eye steak and a bottle of Dehlinger Pinot Noir. Overall I highly recommend Cowboy Star!
