Cowboy Brazilian Steakhouse - Columbia Ratings and Reviews
It was a special occasion an it wasn’t even acknowledged by the hostest the food was good n the price was ok an the waitstaff was very kind but the special instructions about it being a special occasion n he said nor did anything I am very disappointed with the way my occasion was handled by the hostess it’s a shame my daughters graduation from boot camp was a special event but I guess this place hates the military an vets maybe it should be boycotted by all veterans an military personal seeing they won’t even say good job after being asked to fit a special event was a shame
Cowboy's is a very great place to eat. We were there on a date and it was perfect. The service, the atmosphere, and the service was great. It was my date's first time there and she loved it. Our favorite was the bacon wrapped chicken and the cooked pineapple. Delicious!
My husband and I went here for what supposed to be a romantic date night. It was bright, loud and had kids running around everywhere. Salad bar and hot items were ok but the meats were horrible chicken was dry and all the beef items were not even edible. Only good part of evening was the chocolate mousse layer cake. It was delicious! 100.00 wasted!
A huge fan of Brazilian style steak houses - this was not one of the better ones. The wait staff and service made up for a poor filet mignon and a couple of unusual offerings. The Parmesan pork looked great but was adequate- the sirlons were far superior to the filets which was sad - the spicy sausage was good.
The sides and salad bar was top shelf and received constant attention sand service from staff.
Highly recommend the grilled pineapple - we loved it at our table, but when I'm at a Brazilian steakhouse and I'm talking more about the salad bar and great waitstaff it is a lot like saying they have a great personality when setting up a blind date.
The owner was downright rude when I explained and showed him my medical card that relays information that I should be charged for a child's meal because I can only eat 5-10% of what a normal person would. He refused without looking at it and did not honor the person that originally told me that they would. The salad bar had flies and people were putting food back with their hands. We were seated close to the bathroom which was on the way out from the kitchen but constantly got passed over with the food. The meat also was not hot and contained a LOT of fat on each piece.
I visited this restaurant with my wife. Since it was early dinner time (5pm) on Monday, the restaurant was quiet and gauchos frequently brought us various meats. Unfortunately, I forget the name, but the server was also nice and friendly. My wife really loved the salad buffet, and I enjoyed the meats.
We were excited to hear that there was a restaurant like Brasa's here in SC. We chose Cowboys over Rioz because it's been around longer. We came for my husband's and mom's birthdays. We were a party of 6 that included 2 little ones. We were excited that we got to sit in a little side room. This seemed perfect as we wouldn't bother anyone with our 1 & 2 year olds being kids. We didn't bother anyone but we were forgotten! We waited quite a few times for drinks to be refilled. The Gauchos forgot to come to us. There was a camera in the room but it didn't seemed like they utilized it. We saw the Gauchos with the garlic steak, beef brisket, sausage, sirloin continuously. We had to ask for other meats and even then it was a wait or they never came. I was so disappointed in my first visit to Cowboys. I thought this would be a great alternative to Brasa's when it came to service. Our cards remained on the green side throughout our entire dinner whereas at Brasa's we turn them on red often to give us a chance to eat. We finally got tired of waiting for things and asked for the check. I don't think we will be visiting Cowboys again. ☹️☹️
My husband and I LOVED our experience. My husband is a meat-eater and ate like a king. The Gauchos kept his plate full and were eager to feed him more. The food was outstanding. I am a vegetarian and really enjoyed the salad bar. Then, a server took notice and they started to bring special meat-free items from the kitchen just for me. They made our evening super special as we were there celebrating a special occasion (but they didn't know that and still made us feel as if we were invited guests). We will be back!
This was our first time to a restaurant like this where they "parade" the meat out on skewers, so we didn't know what exactly to expect.
They had a buffet bar that they called "salad bar" but could have easily been called "sides bar", since they had a rather large selection of side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, cheeses, collard greens and more. Everything we had was delicious. Everything. I maybe didn't experiment much with things I didn't already know I loved, but everything I did try was as good or better than I was accustom to. We finished the first plate of sides and turn our "signal" coasters to green indicating we were ready for the servers to stop by with their meat skewers, and here I lost track. I had so many different cuts I only remembered my favorite. The Flank Steak. It was a course meat, very red and rare, but had a wonderful "charred" taste to it.
The whole experience was perfect, dented only by what I assume was crew changing shifts (at about 7-8 pm) at prime dinner time, so that kinda sucked. I had one glass of water the whole night. Not for lack of drinking mind you. I emptied it very soon after arriving, and before I finished my sides plate, and it remained that way for a very long time. Until a gentleman came out (either an owner, chef or something, he had an aura of authority) and took our dessert orders. Fortunately I had my Pinot Noir to accompany the meal, so it was not worth too many points to the entire experience. Overall, and obviously, I would definitely recommend this place to friends or family, and I most certainly will be back myself!
We went on a birthday date here and it was great. We got right in and was eating in minutes from our arrival. The staff were nice and the food just kept coming. The salad bar and the hot bar had good choices and the items tasted delicious. We will definitely be back.
