   One person trying to run everything! I gave my water pitcher to a customer after 40 min no one even noticed her ! Food was very good. Level of restaurant need more help

   Our first evening we were served three different sized glasses of champagne, and when I contested the size difference, I was told the previous waitress had served us too much and had been told off, despite us being served by three different people. The pizza was cold and I had to send it back. The roast dinner was also cold so we had to send that back too. The coffee was cold, the room wasn’t cleaned each day, and when it was they didn’t replace the tea and coffee making facilities. We had dirty cups, and had to ask them to be changed at breakfast. We waited ages to be served, and then when the food came out it was cold. Overall, we were very disappointed and ending up eating out at other restaurants so we didn’t have to eat there.

   The historic environment of the dining room at Stonehouse Court is very much a part of the ambiance (ancient oak, and stone fireplaces) . A quiet meal in a centuries-old manor house with a six acre lawn was delightful. The meal, the service, and the ambiance are exceptional.

   The food was amazing. The service was great and Stonehouse Court is such a beautiful venue. The kitchen was very accommodating as we asked for a slight change to the afternoon tea. We will definitely be coming again.

   Had afternoon tea for Mother’s Day bought by my son so myself and husband went the whole experience was awful no choice of tea sandwich and cakes put down didn’t explain what was in sandwiches then that was it nobody came back to ask if we wanted more tea or anything service was shocking

   Lovely setting and hotel and gardens, not too busy so we were able to enjoy a nice afternoon tea

   Lovely Sunday roast. Waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Site was clean and tidy and parking was easy.

   Very disappointing. Menu sounded excellent, but did not deliver. Starters took 50mins from ordering. Scotch egg starter was a hard boiled once cut into it. Main course lamb and aubergine - lamb was over cooked and aubergine was flavourless - was unable to eat. Front of house service were great, staff were lovely and very apologetic, gave us a complimentary drink and took the starters off the bill. For a very quiet restaurant food was very poor.

   Booked in at 7pm , ordered drinks and main meals within 10 minutes. However drinks did not arrive within another 10 minutes ,had to remind the waitress of our order and she fetched them herself ! .The main meals arrived after nearly 50 minutes ? . My wife had fish and chips and I had steak and ale pie [shop bought] with chips and salad ., so nothing out of the ordinary ,So why so long , someone who sat down after us had his Steak order before us , as did two tables who had starters . Unsure of the etiquette regarding this . The room was a bit dark and the background music was not the best for dining to . There was only one waitress trying to look after 7 tables , better coordination needed and a more positive attitude towards the customers . If people have to wait for any reason ,as in other establishments why not offer a choice of bread roll and butter whilst having to wait ? . The food was hot when it arrived though , and we had ice cream desserts which were very nice . Not sure it was really value for money , however the breakfast next morning was exceptional .
