This was our first time at the restaurant and we loved everything about it. It was notable that even though it turns out that we dined the night before closing, the service and the food were spot on. We never would have known except that we inquired about renting the party room and were told of the closing. The decor is nothing short of fabulous, and the food was creative and delicious but not over the top trying to impress. The staff were friendly and professional. Minneapolis is losing a gem.

Well it's kind of hard to say what I would recommend the restaurant for when it is closing October 1st. :( Their all you can eat Fried Chicken Dinners were WONDERFUL and will be truly missed. Thank you Coup d'Etat for your excellent food, drinks and service!!!

I would tell you how great it is but they are changing to a different name/concept. One thing that happened was I ordered a "smoked manhatten" (cause I have had them there before and they are delicious) but mine was not smoked and when I brought it up to bartender he said he didnt know how to make them, he was just a chef filling in for bartender who was going to the bathroom.
The buffet was delicious though.

What used to be a fun fancy restaurant with lots of atmosphere has turned into a place desperately trying to be get drunk and have appetizers... while the small plates are still amazing, the entrees are tired and seem to have no effort put into them any more, and the atmosphere has scaled back to bordering on sports bar.

One of the more trendy places in uptown but I quite like the patio for its location and people watching. The menu seemed to have shrunken since the last time I was there but there were some interesting items. I recommend to take a shareable before the main as all mains are closer to French helpings (read: small). My hanger steak was very tasty, though. The place is quite pricey, so be prepared when the check comes.

The host and server were attentive and accomodating. The food was exceptional, the server helped educate on the options and the experience was great. There for a date night, the special was priced right to allow us to cover a fun night out together and the cost of a babysitter!

Fantastic Sunday brunch. "Bottomless" mimosa implies endless refills, but it was so generous that one was plenty. So much to love--great Andouille sausage, perfectly scrambled eggs that were a far cry from most steam table dreck, and a juicy, crusty smoked brisket. Even the potatoes were crisp, not soggy or greasy. Lots of healthy options--several salads and grilled veggies. Only downside was an uninspiring, anemic fruit bowl. Cute and tasty tiny desserts. We will return, and bring the family.
