Cotogna never disappoints!
It was fantastic! We love it. Amy was a great server. Our friends from Texas loved the food and the atmosphere.
Best pizza I ever had!! And extremely great service!
It was great! The focaccia was outstanding!
food and service are outstanding; this was my second lunch at Cotogna but my guest is a regular. Portions can be tiny; we both ended up ordering additional courses. Noise level can be very high at noon; we had to move our negotiation to the sidewalk when a particularly loud group was seated next to us!
food is very good and service is excellent!
Excellently prepared inventive food served in a delightful space!
A die hard foodie from Chicago...the food was EVERYTHING!!!
Wonderful lunch with friends!!!
Amazing as always. Lucky to be there.
OUTSTANDING experience! Food and service were great. Will definitely be back!
The food was great. We didn’t get a good table, but had made a same day reservation for prime time. The table was only partially set when we were seated and I had to ask for it to be done. I then had to ask for a menu. So, it didn’t start well, but the food was wonderful and tasty. The server’s suggestion for a wine pairing was a good one .
It felt like been in Italy
We were having an intimate birthday celebration and they made the whole experience so lovely. Quite side table with placemats that said happy birthday and a little dessert. It was special. The food and service were outstanding throughout.
Wonderful restaurant, vibrant crowd, excellent wait staff- very attentive and efficient, food was delicious
The food and wine was fantastic. But the seating was horrible. Seated behind the front desk and in front of bar stools.Barely enough room to set.
Our recent dining experience at Cotogna was outstanding. Every time we visit SanFrancisco, we always try to get a reservation.
The food, wine and service are incredible. This restaurant never disappoints; all selections are creative and prepared with perfection. Pastas are heavenly but so are meat and fish choices. Be sure to save room for dessert.
Staff makes you feel as though you are visiting with friends. Great atmosphere.
Fabulous dinner! Cotogna is always busy, but the service never suffers. The food was fantastic and the raviolo is not to be missed. Loved that our server thoroughly explained the dishes. Can't wait to go back!
Fantastic good, great services, wonderful ambiance.
Cotogna is San Francisco. Even when it was extremely busy, the service was very professional and friendly. Our food was promptly served, and the staff was very attentive.
One minor suggestion: In my quest for a reasonably healthy diet, I really feel the need for daily greens. Often, on prior visits, the chef has reenable to fix a special green salad for me, but oaths occasion, there were none available. Maybe something could be added to the menu. It wouldn't cost a lot to keep some greens unhand for people like me. Thanks.
Would be nice to have a salad in the menu. We asked for a salad but they did not had a green salad the night we were there. otherwise, we had a good time. Thank you
A very cozy spot in the FiDi/North Beach area. Food is fantastic, and menu changes quite often. Portions are deceptively small - believe me, they fill you up! We started with the beets antipasti (I don't recall the name) and romanesco broccoli sformato. The sformato is covered in a dreaaaaaamy bechamel...ugh, so good. For pasta dishes, we got the gramigna alla salsiccia and tagliatelle alla bolognese. Both were delicious - tagliatelle was a tad salty for my taste, but still yummy. For dessert, we split the gianduja tart with caramelized banana...chocolate + hazelnut + banana gelato = heaven!!
Our server was wonderful and attentive. I had informed them it was my husband's birthday on my reservation, they provided a custom placemat with his name, everyone wished him Happy Birthday and at the end of the meal, got a gelato with a candle. They took good care of us! We'll definitely be back!
Not to be missed little sib of the great Quince. Wood fired pizza is great, but crudo, soup, pasta , fish et al. Great wine list and cocktails. Warm staff. Go!
Upon entering, we were greeted as if we were in a coffee shop. Service was uneven although our waiter was good. We were rushed in the beginning......plates were removed before we even finished a course. Sparkling water was poured constantly whether we wanted more or not. $24.00 for the water was overpriced. The swordfish portion was minute. Overpriced and nothing special.
We are planning a trip to Northern Italy and Cotogna gave us a taste. My pasta had veal and rabbit. My wife's dish had various meats, vegetables, and a broth. Creative, well prepared, and worth the price.
Easily the greatest experience I've had at a restaurant in San Francisco. Antipastos were creative, fresh and beautifully presented. Pastas were perfectly prepared—just delicious. We ended up splitting three of them between the two of us. I also ordered the skate wing per our waiter's recommendation and it was incredible. And the toasted meringue for dessert was so unique and refreshing.
This may be more casual than Quince, but it's still expensive. That being said, I would absolutely recommend to anyone with some extra cash and a desire to try what is no doubt one of the best meals in the city. You won't be disappointed.
Consistently superb combination of inventive and beautifully executed plates that respect authenticity but add a unique sense of imagination. Savory, pleasurable and memorable dishes plus excellent service make this one of our most repeated food spots in SF.
I went to Cotogna for a late valentine’s date with my wife. We found the dishes delicious and creative. The service was excellent and the waitstaff was very knowledgeable and attentive.
As always we loved Cotogna. The food is wonderful, however this time, wait times for drinks and meals was unusually long time. We got seated at 8.10PM our main course wasn’t served until 9.45.
The ambiance is perfect for a date and candlelight seating doesn’t hurt. Great hand crafted cocktails coupled with Italian food that melts in your mouth. My personal favorite is the burrata pizza and the Tiramisu dessert was to die for!
A wonderful birthday lunch at Cotogna! We started with romanesco broccoli sformato and a shrimp and blood orange salad. Shared a wild mushroom, leek and buretta pizza and lemon and saffron arancini (the best ever!) Everything was delicious and seasonal. The server was professional and so nice. She even brought complimentary a scoop of pistachio gelato with a candle! Many thanks to the Cotogna team for another outstanding meal!
Delicious food and intimate environment
Amazing food and service. We love Cotogna! Highly recommended.
Delicious italian food. Pricey but high quality. However, only getting pastas would not be enough. You'll likely need to order more or definite Secondi.
All there Pasta is wonderful, pizza good, salads great , very disappointed that they no longer offer focaccia; I would pay for it , shouldn’t have taken it away. All there meat & fish coarse excellent. Cocktails on pricey side. Overall we love this place. Service & food quality spectacular
Cotogna has yet to disappoint. The ambiance is excellent -- it provides a very comfortable environment and the service is generally very good. The food is also excellent and I highly recommend the swordfish off the new menu. I feel that the quality of the food is pretty well balanced with the price. I will definitely come back.
did not like either of the pasta's we ordered (raviolo, ?fettucini?). pizza and crab appetizer were good. thought it would be better since it was so difficult to get a reservation. waitress was nice and came often.
I’d been wanting to try Cotogna for the longest time but just never seemed to get there until now! The food is good but not exceptional, cute atmosphere and friendly service. Loved: the beet salad was so good! We shared the pasta with duck sugo which was pretty solid too. Fell short: the focaccia is really just a pizza crust with butter and a little cheese for $24 - more like a cracker than a bread. The steak fiorentina is way too much food for 2 people (unless that’s all you order - it comes with potatoes and sprouts too) and wasn’t really “fiorentina” ... its one of my favorite dishes to order and also to make myself so I have had quite a few variations ... this was just rare meat. For $98. We took most of it home and repurposed it in a cowboy chili the next day :) The service was professional and friendly but I would have appreciated more honest advice when we asked how much to order - pretty sure our server just wanted to up sell. So overall - its a nice place but I won’t go out of my way to go back.
Adding my girlfriends name to the menu was so sweet and thoughtful. The host assisted us by getting us sat before our reservation time. The server was so nice and attentive. Every person we interacted with added to our excellent experience.
Our only sad moment was that we left our leftovers at the restaurant. Two lamb shanks and half my crab salad. We can't remember if the server brought it back to us or if we were at fault for leaving it. We were so upset that we couldn't eat the amazing leftovers the next day. Would definitely come back again. Loved especially the ravioli appetizer.
enjoyed the meal and the service but the noise level is to hight difficult to her your table guest
