We went for brunch on Mother's Day. The bay shrimp with Avocado and green goddess dressing was a great opener, and certianly big enough for two to share. Teh house cured smoked salmon was fabulous, and is not on the menu all the time. The pasta bolognese was a tad salty, but very tasty, and the Garganeli with fava beans and morel mushrooms was delicate and delicious. The pricing for such quality food, considering the size of the portions, was excellent. I look forward to dining there again.

My daughter treated me to lunch at my favorite restaurant for Mother’s Day. It was a surprise that we could even get a reservation. We had a fantastic lunch!! We ordered the prosciutto plate as an appetizer with right out of the oven focaccia . We then each had a pasta and they were both excellent!! Our dessert was the panna cotta with dots of olive oil and rosemary shortbread cookies. It was amazing!!

My wife loves this restaurant so we recently had a “date” night out. The Raviolo was amazing and we finished with the off-the-menu gelato cart

Pasta perfection. Skip the shrimp and avocado market salad too many shallots over powered the whole dish. I return every trip I take to San Francisco!

First time there, but we will return. Portions are fairly large. We shared four courses and unfortunately had no room for dessert. Every bite was tasty. Tables are quite close together, and the noise level is pretty high.

I went for a business lunch and the food was amazing. I had a difficult time narrowing down what to order, as everything looked amazing. Our server was great, helpful but also didn't rush us.

I will definitely go back to try some of the other dishes and to take part in some of their cocktails.

It's very good in every way. However, by the time you add you bill to the tip and mandates for the Sunday Supper you are pushing $100.

My boyfriend and I ate lunch here for our anniversary. The food was incredible... definitely one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had and just really fresh, unique ingredients. We didn't expect it, but when we sat at our table our placemats wished us a "happy anniversary," and they even brought us complimentary (amazingly creamy) ice cream. We also enjoyed the pacing of the meal, but probably wouldn't recommend for anyone with a time crunch. We will definitely be back!

Everything was great as usual, but the noise was unbearable. We thought having lunch at 1:15 would be less noise but we were dead wrong. There were two tables of 4 and 5 younger people, probably in their 30s and 40s, who were shouting instead of talking. Maybe they are all somewhat hearing impaired! We couldn’t carry a conversation at all until after 2:30.

I had high expectations for Cotogna and they were happily exceeded. If only my stomach could have handled more choices. The Green Garlic Soup was sophisticated and elegant.....welcome to the palate. The Mushroom Ricotta Pizza was another stand-out interpretation if a classic, with quality, unadulterated ingredients. Dessert was an architectural presentation of Pistachio Gelato, Decaffeinated Coffee and the requisite anise biscotti. Tutto va bene.

My friends and I were in from out of town and everyone on the staff got in on the fun. They were full of great suggestions and didn't mind that we were there for over 3 hours. We have all worked in the service industry so we notice things like that, and everyone was welcoming and the food was fantastic! A great experience all around. We were hoping to miss our flight so we could go back lol.

Cotogna without a doubt stands above its competition when it comes to its fresh flavorful ingredients and killer preparation, whether it’s pasta, meats, breads.
I always take out of town guests here. The tortelli with peas and mint were cooked to perfection. Nothing here is ‘over-sauced’. Also ordered the pork ‘coppa’ - sort of a marbled steak cut of pork. Flavorful, cooked to perfection, tender and tasty. The focaccia with fennel pollen was truly unique and outstanding. They’ve never failed in the food experience. It’s not inexpensive but it stands so far above other good Italian restaurants that it’s worth it. Go there!

This was my third time dining at Cotogna and the service was really disappointing - definitely not on par with previous experiences. Our group was seated right before 12pm but our waitress didn't take our orders until ~12:30pm. We did not receive our appetizers until 1pm, then our entrees didn't come until 1:40pm. We asked a few times about the food since our client was in a rush but it still took another 20 minutes after we checked in. The final bill also included drinks from another patron's table on our bill so they had to revise our check. The food is always amazing but this service really left us with a bad taste in our mouth!

We've always enjoyed the creative menus at Cotogna and this time was no exception; the salad with kumqats and avocado was exceptional and the lamb with roasted potatoes and an exceptional pinot noir was super. Always look forward to a good meal at Cotogna!

Loved this neighborhood eatery. It's definitely energetic, and you're going to be eating "up close and personally" with those seated at the tables next to you. Nonetheless, the food is delish, and the staff warm, friendly, and clearly happy to have you. Though we struggled to hear each other, we enjoyed every bite of our avocado appetizer, tagliatelle bolognese, and black cod with beets, potato, and spinach. We can talk any time. Enjoying a satisfying Sunday supper out of town is a treat.

Superb cuisine. Booya! Prices per glass of wine ran too steep, but the wine was delicious. If you go, make sure to try or focus on pasta offerings, as they were top notch; everything else was too though.
