Cote D'Azur Ratings and Reviews
Fabulous bd dinner here with friends. Their cuisine never fails to disappoint. A couple new items on the menu after many years of coming here. The pheasant with Moroccan spices, apricots and figs is to die for and pairs up beautifully with a well aged Bordeaux form your cellar which you can bring for a $30 corkage fee.
This is our favorite restaurant in the Naples area. Once again, everything was excellent. While they switched owners in early 2018, you would never know, as the chef and waiters all stayed on and everything is just as good as ever. We were a party of six, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I was trying to avoid the bread, but it's so good (along with the oil & balsamic) that I couldn't resist. My husband ordered a glass of wine and found the quality and amount to be quite good for the price. You have to make a reservation in advance, as it's usually fully booked.
We asked for a booth and understandably they had booked out for our time. We were told weeks in advance was necessary so we were seated in the middle area. Not 5 minutes after our being seated another couple came in with same request and were told to hold pat as a booth was getting ready to leave. The hostess clearly should have offered us the same consideration. Within minutes 3 booths cleared as we sat there wondering why this occurred
We are repeat customers and felt mistreated by the hostess
Our meal and waiter were outstanding as akways
Here is a helpful hint... give people the option of waiting a few minutes to sort out booth availability
We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server, Tony, remembered us from a previous visit. He was very helpful with the menu and gave an excellent recommendation on the wine list. I had the pheasant which was superb. My wife had the yellowtail and pronounced it excellent. Service was excellent. This restaurant never misses a beat and is certainly one of our favorites. Highly recommended!
Under "new" ownership since out last visit, the waiter told us that "It's better than before." I said "I'll let you know." I had the lump crab meat appetizer which was excellent with a number of flavors - wasabi, caviar, roasted red pepper, etc.- complementing but not overpowering the crab. The crispy duck was exactly what I like with a bare minimum of fat over a crispy skin-covered boneless breast. My wife had the Dover Sole which was the specialty of the house pre-ownership change, and was thrilled to find that it is at least as good as before. The table-side preparation was expertly done. The meal was capped by a complementary profiterole filled with vanilla ice cream and covered with molten chocolate.
As we handed the check to the waiter I told him "You're right."
I posted this under TripAdvisor and cut/pasted for Open Table. Still accurate.
Overall I like Cote D'Azur. I have been dining there since it opened. I think the new chef is doing a good job. My only criticism is the waitstaff was to anxious to remove our plates. They started asking when we still had food on our plates and 4 people asked to remove them. We felt rushed.
This is a nice restuarant, I did not expect to be rushed like that. That never would have happened with the previous owner. I think it would be easy to fix this problem. I would not stop going there because of that.
Had not been since new ownership. Certainly was not disappointed......the same delicious flavors and menu selections.. My husband always has the fowl. I had a delicious veal chop. This is a very small, cozy restaurant. There is some outdoor seating, as well.
We have always loved this restaurant, which recently went through a change of ownership. We feel it has changed in subtle ways, and while we can't quite put our finger on it, we miss the old Cote d'Azur. :( My husband enjoyed one of his favorite entrees, while I tried a new entree on the menu, which I did not care for, and would not order again. So all in all, a little bit of a mixed bag. Things change & sometimes it takes awhile for it all to settle in, so we will keep coming. The restaurant was completely full the night we were there, so perhaps we are being too nostalgic!
Cote D'Azur is better than ever under the new management......They maintanined the fav dishes from the previous owner and have added their own delicious touches. Our group enjoyed, the salmon, the yellow tail snapper ( best preparation anywhere), the lamb chops and the veal tenderloin. The desserts are sublime as well.
European atmosphere with continental comfort. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. Service was excellent. The roasted lobster was outstanding with a champagne caviar sauce. Pear dessert with chocolate caramel ice cream was exceptional. Pricey, but definitely worth it!
Our second visit and it will not be our last, we look forward to trying everything on the menue. We had an excellent bottle of a Saint Emillion Bordeaux that we look forward to again. We had different servers on both visits that were true, helpful professionals that understood a fine dining time line and added to the experience.
