Cote D'Azur Ratings and Reviews
Excellent evening overall. My only complaint is that the booth seats seem a bit far from the table, and the backs of the booths are shared with the adjoining booth. So when someone at the abutting table moves, you get a jolt. Like having a child kicking the back of your airplane seat.
Knowing that there are new owners, we visited for dinner wondering what the experience would be like. Cote D’Azur was always our favorite French restaurant and we were thrilled to find that the new owners continue to prepare the same menu in the same way as the former owners. These new owners offered several off-menu items as well. The food was delicious, service was professional. We will continue to call this our favorite French restaurant.
We have been going to Côte D'Azur for several years for our anniversary in November. We were very disappointed this year. The service was below their normal standards and there seemed to be an overall tension between workers. The food was adequate at best. The prawn appetizer was undercooked, the escargot was not impressive. The rack of lamb was basically tasteless and was over cooked. Our waiter was more interested in talking with the couple next to us and forgot to refill our water glasses or to offer coffee. We don't know what has happened but it certainly is not the quality restaurant it once was.
Excellent dinner. Will definitely go there again and again. Under new ownership and the food was better than ever. We each had salads that were beautifully presented and full of flavor and freshness. Veal tenderloin was exceptional - perfectly cooked, excellent flavor and presentation. Rack of lamb special also exceptionally done.
Lovely atmosphere and new owner/chef was out on the floor making sure dinners were good. Gave us a wonderful creme brûlée for our anniversary celebration - might be the best I have ever had - creamy, full of flavor, outstanding. A great night.
Food as excellent as always. New owner are certainly present and welcoming the guests. All four of us had the Dover sole & were very pleased. Started with beet salad that was excellent. Looking forward to returning around Christamas. Thank you
My friend and I went for dinner to this place and we had a great dinner. Our server Claude was very attentive with a friendly smile and prompt service. He told us about the daily special. Recommend us the mussels which were delicious, for dessert we had the flan cake with the perfect combination of dessert wine recommended by our server Claude. We even got the previliege to meet the owners that happen to be there. The whole experiment was memorable.
Our waiter told us that the kitchen was sold out of a fish special. The table behind us ordered that same special while we were eating our main course. When we left the new owner said to us that the following to this restaurant is great how can anyone screw that up. I preceded to inform her what happened to us, she then followed us out into the parking lot with our waiter in tow. Telling us that the waiter told us a different special was sold out. I then informed the new owner it is poor form to chastise an employee in front of customers particularly following us out into parking lot. High price low class by ownership was clearly displayed.
Our first time undre the new owner. Really nice. Wonderful evening. Wait staff still in place and remembered us. New middle seating preferable to the previous arrangement. More relaxed, encouraged conversation. Wine list not long, but with real top to bottom value at each price range. Really like wine list being part of the menu. Nice touch. Food not as good as before, but better than almost any place in SW Florida and likely to improve as new owners settle in.
Worth a try.
The food preparation is very good, however expensive when factoring in location, ambiance, noise, crowded setting, less-than-friendly service staff. While entree’s listed were on the ‘high side’, one guest’s choice of Bouillaisebase at $49 was a surprise as it was a ‘special’ not listed on the menu nor told of its cost among most other entrees in the mid to upper $30’s. Similarly also, the corkage fee of $30 does not endear one to the establishment when you’d like to bring a special wine to accompany the other’s purchased. We had a lovely meal but will not rush back.
We always go to Cote D'Azur each time we are in Naples. It is relatively close to our home here, but the key reason we go is the exceptional food, particularly the foie gras starter which is truly exceptional! We both had that and the pheasant tagine which was excellent. Great service and really good French wine completed another good evening and we will of course be back! Just one negative comment to make, the last couple of times we have booked, we have been placed on a table for two near the kitchen. This really lets down the ambience of our dinner and I will definitely request not to be seated there again next time we visit
WE TRAVEL TO NAPLES EACH YAER AND COTE D'AZUR IS A MUST! WE ASKED FOR THE PHEASANT TO BE ADDED TO THE MENU AS A SPECIAL FOR OUR VISIT AND VOILA WE DINED ON THE BEST FOOD AND WINE OF THE YEAR. THANKS ONCE AGAIN FOR A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE.
The ambiance was unique creating privacy under awnings at each booth. Service was friendly, informative, and flexible. Our meal was served at a nice pace. Food selections were many and delightful. I experienced the most tender veal steak I have ever eaten! I look forward to eating at this fine restaurant again soon .
The food was excellent. The service and ambience was fine. Very pricey! They charge $17 to split a meal which is ridiculous! If I had ordered the salad and my husband ordered the entree there would not have been a charge. I probably will kit go back god that reason.
We have eaten at Cote d'Azur many time in the last 10 years and it has always been excellent. This time will probably be our last. It was our anniversary and I requested one of the little booths for 2. The new hostess/owner did not look at the Open Table special requests. She apologized and later reseated us to a booth. They were not extremely busy but our waiter seemed to have a hard time taking care of his tables. My husband ordered duck which was very salty and too brown. I had the snapper with sauce which was more soupy sauce than fish. We were extremely disappointed with our experience. It is too expensive to leave feeling very disappointed. I douibt that we will be going there again. With the previous owners, Sadi and Claude, everything was always superb.
My husband and I were in Naples for his birthday. He is French, so I always like to surprise him with a 'little taste of home.' Knowing nothing about the French establishments in Naples, I did a quick search and read reviews. Beside the great reviews I read, the thing that caught my eye was the video that spoke about the previous owner leaving to return to France to enjoy his retirement with his family. He promised the new owner would keep everything the same, from menu to staff. That personal touch/message to old and new customers showed the dedication he had to his restaurant and clientele. Since we never ate there before we had nothing to compare to, but all I can say is the food is absolutely superb! My husband was able to speak French with our waiter who was from Paris, always a special treat to converse in one's native language. From the appetizers to dessert, our meal was absolutely delicious...the wonderful selection of tastes and colors presented to us in an artistic display made this birthday dinner for my husband one of the highlights of our weekend. We spoke to one of the owners on the way out and expressed our delight at everything, from the quaint ambiance to the fantastic food they prepared for us. This place is a gem for sure!!!
