Costa - MGM Springfield
2nd time there and will definitely go back! It’s pricey but you get what you pay for.
Service and food were great!!! Will be back : )
Excellent!
The food is not described very well. We got many dishes thinking they where one thing and came out very different and very spicy to point they could not be eaten. How ever the dry aged stake was the one meal that came out amazing.
Phenomenal food and service. However heard they are changing over to a new type of restaurant they have in other MGM establishments across the country, called Costa. Anyway if you can get there before they make the change, do it. Best Caesar Salad ever. Excellent entrees. Fabulous desserts.
Bring back the squid ink lobster pasta
The service was excellent. Our waitress was patient, thoughtful and pointed out items on the menu that would be prepared well gluten-free. The dinner was excellent, The Brussels were to die for. Delicious meal and outstanding service.
Everything was OK. Server was lovely but otherwise food and drinks were very average. For the price we were expecting more.
Great menu, service and quality. Drinks and food were equally decadent. Service was superb. Pricey but delicious.
Sonia - Waitress was awesome, made my wife’s birthday the best
The food was great. The options were very limited. Overall, great service, and atmosphere.
Quality of food in relation to price ... as an example, clams casino appetizer...I have gotten better quality and portion at a beach side seafood shack for a better price
Excellent service! I am celiac and they were very accommodating to making sure I had a GF meal.
The meal was delicious. A little pricey but we knew that going in since it’s in a casino. Service was excellent.
Excellent meal. Best option I’ve found at MGM. Look forward to next visit
We always choose Cal Mare for our dine out choice. The service is extremely attentive, even on a busy day like Christmas, we were attended to with care. WE LOVE CAL MARE'S menu. The food is always superb!
We’ve enjoyed Cal Mare a couple times. It’s a treat, for sure. The food is consistently tasty and yet, slightly innovative to some degree. We just love it.
You will too.
I love Cal Mare. The food is always outstanding and the ambiance lively. Service was a little subpar this visit, but this was far from normal. We dine here every time we go to MGM Springfield, and will continue doing so.
I want to start by saying that our waitress was excellent and a true professional. However, the host staff and (what I can only presume was) the manager were beyond rude and incompetent. Long story short, we were sat around 7pm for a 6:30 reservation. While we waited we watched the staff run around like they didn’t have a clue as to what was going on. When the manager came over to “apologize” for the wait, we explained that we had tickets for an 8pm show and he could have not been ruder. He snapped that he was having four tables set and stormed away. We waited another ten minutes and only remained because we could not get a table at any of the other restaurants in the casino or the surrounding area (yes, we had time to call all of them).
Like I mentioned at the beginning, our waitress was great and was really the only highlight of our experience. The food wasn’t all that good and watching the host staff scrambling all over the restaurant just stressed me out. I doubt I’ll be back.
Food was OK. Highlights were the Linguini with Clam Sauce (really liked the homemade pasta) and the Grilled Whole Branzino. BUT the potatoes under the Branzino are horrible. Greasy and tasteless, they would benefit from seasoning (maybe some Rosemary, Salt & Pepper) and less oil. Be warned they also appear on the Sunday Brunch menu as a side dish.
Carpaccio MUCH to salty.
If you are ready to spend 18$ spaghetti with butter you’re good to go.
Chocolate Ice Cream was with little outdated chocolate pickles and probably also outdated Hazelnuts.
Of course some course were ok, but these points above were enough to make us regret the stay.
Dinner at Cal Mare was delicious!! Appetizers were enough for two people to share and entrees were sufficient to finish off my appetite. Service was very attentive and friendly. A very nice place to eat.
Our wait staff person was personable, attentive, and helpful!
Love it there! The staff is fabulous and Gary the manager is outstanding
Food is great and the service was just as good. We've been here a couple of different times, and it gets better every time. Will definitely be coming back.
The food was very good and the service was attentive.
CM needs to keep introducing more new items or, at least, have different daily specials. The menu is too short and static to eat there often.
Waitress really pushed alcohol/drinks, not enough menu choices, mediocre entrees although butternut squash polenta was very good. Wont go back again, too many better alternatives in the area.
Food and service were excellent. Carpaccio meatballs, little gems Caesar, pressed chicken, wild mushroom pizza, cavatelli pasta, eggplant were all great.
Too bad, there were no specials, especially for a Saturday night.
Amanda was our server. She was fantastic. The food was wonderful!
Always a stop when we visit MGM Springfield. Food is fabulous!
Service was fantastic... food was very good but spicing was a little mild for me. I would have preferred a break from the noise and music from the casino. Would go again but ask for a table farther from the walkway and slots.
At MGM SPRINGFIELD for a business conference. Met associates for dinner before it begins. Only restaurant in hotel open was Cal Mare (the steakhouse was closed). Excellent food, wine list and service but the noise level in the half full restaurant was beyond loud making conversation very difficult. Not inexpensive but would return fit the food - not to have meaningful conversation.
Excellent as always
Our third time dinning at Cal Mare. The food is always top notch just feel it is a bit pricey. Highly recommended just be ready for the bottom line.
The garlic flavor in the chickpea pancake appetizer was overwhelming. All the other food we ordered was very good. Also the takeout bag is over the top; in other words, it is a waste of paper, too big and environmentally irresponsible.
The place was good and the people were very friendly. The menu is very limited, but what we got to eat was pretty good.
We got the clams casino as an appetizer and they were good.
I got the pork chop for my main dish and it was really good.
My wife got the steak and it had to get sent back. It want well done.
The deserts are also very limited and just “ok”.
Everything is amazing. Very good experience.
The food, service, and staff is impeccable. The music is quite loud, though necessary to drown out the sounds of the casino a few yards away.
We had to walk a LONG way through the casino (I get it, it’s done on purpose) to get to the restaurant. The casino is loud. The announcers’ voice is EVERYWHERE, even in the restrooms. It’s very loud.
IF I go back, I will put earplugs in before I walk into the building.
