   Unfortunately I was very sick for 24 hours after eating here (I had salmon and mussels). My partners lamb dish was ok. Service was quite friendly.

   Have been meaning to try this restaurant out for years. Finally got around to giving it a go and wasn't disappointed. Was in for lunch so was presented with the lunch menu which had great options for 1, 2 or 3 courses on a smaller lunch menu. Price was good. The A la carte menu was also made available to choose from their full selection - again very reasonable. Place had started to busy up but service was quick and both waitresses who served us were friendly and gave the special pudding and soup of the day. Would recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

   This time the menu was a little different from before. Better I would say. All condiments were served separately in little bowls at the side of the main dish. We were trying to take our friends to somewhere a 'little different'. They were very impressed by the decor, especially the rug-suspended ceiling. The food was as delicious as we expected. We will definately return.

   Huge portions and attentive service - great for hungry students. The Vodka shots completed a fun night.

   This was our second visit but the first with the full normal menu,Xmas one last time. I went for the steak salad & my oh the salmon blinis- both good sized portions & very tasty. Mains were salmon & lamb kebabs both came with rice & a small portion of salad. Again the flavours were very good & decent portions. We finished with stuff fried pancake -think banana fritter & Russian honey cake. Total bill with 2 rounds of drinks just under £70. Compared to some other restaurants the drinks were fairly cheap, £3.60 for a half litre of Russian beer & £3.50 for a good sized cocktail. The service is very good without being too intrusive.

   We had a very nice meal at cafe cossachok. The menu and food was basic but well cooked and presented. The staff were lovely, very attentive without being overly attentive. The atmosphere was very comfortable. The prices were extremely reasonalble. We will be eating there again.

   I visited this restaurant with 2 friends on a Saturday evening. It was our first visit but will certainly not be our last. The food was excellent. I was unfortunate in that my first choice of main course was finished but my second choice of duck did not disappoint. The desert I chose was also not available but once again my alternative choice was also very tasty. My friends also 'raved' about their food. There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that the white wine we chose was not very cold and we were not given the opportunity to try it before it was poured. We should have told the restaurant at the time that it wasn't cold enough as they may have rectified it. Since we didn't I would not hold this criticism against them and look forward to my next visit.

   After seeing a russian-themed film, we went for dinner. The welcome was genuine, the vodkas were amazing, the food was unusual and tasty, and the service was relaxed and friendly. A perfect way to spend the evening before heading back to Edinburgh!

    When the entree I wanted was not available because they did not have duck that evening I asked if the chief could do it with chicken and it was a complete success .
