We had been there several times before for Valentine’s Day and we loved the ambiance and the food was very good. This time, we ordered a steak and sea bass. The sea bass was passing at best, the rib eye steak was horrible. It is supposed to be a good cut but this one stringy, full of fat and tasteless. Interestingly, the table next to us were so dissatisfied with their meal that they sent it back and refused a replacement meal. We don’t know why the quality of the food went downhill but be going back anytime soon.
Our server Casey was very kind and gave wonderful recommendations. The short ribs were absolutely delicious!
I love coming, but it was cold (low-60s, upper-50s) and I immediately noticed that the heater wasn’t working. Instead of addressing it I was told there was nothing that could be done, but I could be re-sat in the same section. We flagged another waiter who immediately addressed the overhead heater, but there were still unused portable heaters that would have been appreciated had they been brought over.
I love the live band and will continue to come back for the ambiance, but during warmer evenings. If it is chilly, especially on the tables around the outskirts of the venue, I hope they utilize all their heaters, instead of assuming people are alright.
The service was excellent! Very accommodating. It was fun to be in a historical setting.
not a good experience, need a new chef.................................................... ..............................
Lovely dinner at the Cosmopolitan.
We expected to eat Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel. Due to the rain they switched us to another restaurant. It was crowded, hostess was aloof, food was cold and the place was noisy.
I was very disappointed. I picked cosmopolitan for the ambience. For some reason when we got there we were told we had to walk down (in the rain) to another restaurant, the mexican restaurant Bara Bara. The ambience was much different , very casual and also cold. To make matters worse, since the members of our party dont eat meat, the menu said there would be fish and also mussels marinara. The fish was there. When i asked where the mussels were i wad told they could not get enough for everyone so they decided not to have them. The other side dishes were plentiful but since they were by the front door the dishes were not hot. All in all i would never book this restaurant in the future, $50 per person was too much for what they had.
Thanksgiving buffet booked at Cosmopolitan. A couple days before event they inform they are moving us to mexican restaurant next door. Buffet haphazardly arranged around bar. Presentation unattractive. People packed into restaurant making movement cumbersome. Service left a LOT to be desired
I have attended your Thanksgiving Buffet for the past 3 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. This years it was horrible. I understand the venue was changed because of the rain, but that should not affect the quality of the food. The turkey was dry and horrible and served like i have never seen before. The Mac and. Cheese not good. The salads, though similar to previous years’ versions were tasteless this year. The ham was dry and inedible. Everything, honestly, was substandard and was an embarrassment as I was entertaining friends. I guess i will need to find another venue if this is the new standard for your holiday buffet. Pity.
Our server was great. Nice selection on buffet table. Rainy holiday. Roof leaked on both sides of our table. Staff did try to keep water cleaned up.
The food was over cooked and tasteless. We have eaten at the Cosmopolitan several times before, the food was good, which was why we chose them. We hoped Thanksgiving food would be at least that good.
It was raining this day and the roof leaked in several places, which made the floor slippery in several places.
It was a waste of our time and money.
I had a great birthday party with 20 friends. The ambiance was great, the service was great and the food was great! Definitely recommend this place!
We always enjoy coming here before a show at Cygnet Theater. The band, Zymzzy Quartet, is delightful and a big draw for us.
We’ve been here many times and the outdoor dining with live music is nice. The food was not great this time and we had to ask the waiter repeatedly for all requests even though it was not very crowded.
This is a good option in a very touristy area. I was surprised by how few people were there on a Thursday evening. It is very close to Cygnet Theatre, which makes it a very good option for pre-theatre dining.
It is a decent option to the abundance of mexican restaurants in Old Town. The was my second dinner there, both times in groups of 6+.
Generally, the food is good, but not memorable. The service was very good, especially given that the waitress told us at the end that it was her first day after training. The ambiance was historic and the place was quiet on an early Wednesday evening.
I will not hesitate to go back when attending a show at the Cygnet theater.
Menu has Mexican influence but is a bit different from typical Old Town fare. It’s a really much choice before enjoying nearby Cygnet Theatre.
The food was all right. The rice seemed under cooked on the Seafood enchilada. The pot pie was disappointing but 4 chunks of meat, with 4 potato chunks and a chewy crust would explain why. The two men had the chicken and churros and enjoyed it greatly. the Churros were amazingly good.
Pricing in general is good, but for the pot pie you'd be lucky I'd pay 5 bucks in a grocery store.. and get more for my money.
The staff at first acted like they were inconvenienced with people to help.. then warmed up and gave great service. Guy at the front desk looked bored consistently though.. maybe not the right person for hosting and first impression as you walk in.
In general.. yes I'd eat here again and give it another try. Actually, I will reveiw after our work Holiday party since we decided to have it here as well.. that is why I used it for the birthday dinner.
Our server spaced out the whole time. She couldn’t tell us about 2 food options almost like she had never tasted it before. She checked on us once even though the place was empty. Then at checkout she gave us the book without a bill. The food is fake Mexican in the middle of such greater choices in old town. Wish we had looked at the menu more closely and had gone somewhere else.
Celebrating my girlfriend's birthday would not have been complete without this dining experience! The staff was welcoming and accommodating, they offered a birthday treat and delivered perfectly. We even asked nicely for no birthday song, which they graciously respected. Our evening was perfect, we were also guests in the hotel. The whole stay was just right! Our food was perfectly prepared, served quickly and DELICIOUS! Not to mention, reasonable. We left with full bellies, happy hearts and some cash still in our pockets. What more could you ask for?!
Most of the food was not very good. Dry chicken and fish. Just not quality food. The wild salmon and calamari were the only tasty food we got but very small salmon portion. My yellow tail was dry and not tasty at all. Our server was very nice but food was late. Much better restaurants in the area to go to.
The place was practically empty on Sat night. Not sure how long this place will last.
I don’t know that we will go back, but it was fun to try and I loved the atmosphere. I would have given it higher rating if it weren’t that I was accidentally given the wrong meal, I’m vegan, and it was a pork chop! LOL. I have to say it looked amazing. They caught it before I tried the chop thinking it was my yummy portobello mushroom burger, (thought it came without a roll). Also, our waiter went missing for a LONG time. My husband concluded he was in the back cooking, because he came out sweating and rushed. Otherwise, the atmosphere was lovely. Live music on acoustic guitar. The presentation of food was spot on. Kids eat free with each adult! And when I got my burger, it was exactly as ordered!
Food was great and waiter was nice but they seemed understaffed and stressed!
I made a reservation online and arrived a few mins early. It took 3 of them to figure out the reservation even though there were very few people there. I requested outdoor seating and we got sat inside. It was very quiet with no music playing and was a bit awkward. The inside was very dirty and they had spiderwebs in the corners. After looking over the menu I decided there were many other nearby places to eat that are clean and just more pleasant to dine so I left after waiting multiple mins for someone to come over.
SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING, DRINKS WERE GREAT BUT THE SHORT RIB WAS OVER COOKED
Delightful setting and excellent food. My short ribs were amazing and my husband's cowboy steak very generous and cooked as requested.
Our family had dined at Cosmo before and enjoyed it. But this time and for a birthday celebration it was subpar. My food was cold, hamburger was cold, French fries were excellent. Something seemed off. So we all were disappointed and said we wouldn’t go back. It was early on a Sunday night. Not too many guests.
Wonderful time! We were a party of eight and everyone loved their meal. Our waiter was great. Can't wait to go again!
Very good meal at the Cosmopolitan. The food was delicious and service very attentive and prompt. We ate outside with Latin jazz guitarist playing which was a nice atmosphere. Music was very good and at a volume that allowed easy conversation. One thing to realize is this isn’t like the other restaurants inside the park; menu isn’t combo platters and fajitas. However, there are Mexican dishes, along with American. Highly recommend
We were waiting for ten minutes and nobody came to attend us. Only 4 other tables were dinning. And two waiters were talking to each other close to us while we were waiting. We left the restaurant without ordering, and no one even bothered to say anything.
The food was awful, the table was sticky, staff was friendly, but clearly overwhelmed because they did not have enough waiters. The Cosmopolitan was practically empty. The staff of about 3 were straining to keep up with tables. An unfortunate experience.
The only thing better than the food was the service. We will definitely go back many more times.
The happy hour food was wonderful, the drinks very good, and the prices reasonable, as this restaurant is located in Old Town, typically a tourist area. Our server was very good, however, getting seated, and service to get seated was poor and it wasn't crowded. Loved the beautiful patio, and the skinny Margaritas are very good.
Service and food excellent. Would highly recommend.
I love their patio. It's lovely and comfortable. The food is very good. The servers were very friendly and efficient. The arrival of our food was a bit slow so you don't want to be in a hurry. Just relax and enjoy the ambiance.
Great food and service!
We hadn't been to the Cosmopolitan in a few years but we were going to the theatre next door and found it a convenient spot. We were all very disappointed. My short ribs were cold, my husbands ribs had an interesting sauce (he was expecting a BBQ,) the shrimp dish was 6 small shrimp on polenta that was not very good and then the hamburgers were just OK. The service was just OK, it was nice eating outside. We go out to have a nice meal and needless to say we were all disappointed
The drinks and food were Ok. My husband got the chimi quesa burrito and it was good. I got the pot pie and it no taste and the veggies were crunchy and not cooked. I did not eat it. Drinks were horrible. Left feeling very unsatisfied l.
Came out with old co-workers to catch up. We had a great time!! The food and margaritas are amazing. Will most definitely be coming back again.
