Good I enjoyed it

Great place to go on a dinner date or with friends. Incredible flavors of food, great service and a lovely ambience.

Outstanding dinner experience!

We really wanted to like Cosme, and had great first impressions when we walked into their beautiful restaurant for dinner, and were seated without wait or a line (we had a reservation). The ambience and decor is fantastic.

The issues began with the starters. To preface, I have been a vegetarian my whole life, and do not speak Spanish, so when I was ordering, I requested the waiter to please tell me if I mistakenly order anything that is not vegetarian.

For the first course, I ended up ordering the "uni" - which I now know is fish, but didn't at the time, and assumed it was a Spanish word I didn't know. Once it came, it was clear it was not vegetarian. When I bring my kindly suspicion to the waiter, he confirms it was sea urchin, and exclaims "oh, I thought you knew what Uni was. Maybe the manager will let you switch it out". This is pretty ridiculous - not only did he not apologize that he didn't notify me of my choice (1 of 3 courses for almost $100) when I clearly asked him to, but he acted like he was doing me a favor to fix this. While I thanked him at the time - not wanting to ruin the expensive dinner by starting an argument - I did not appreciate the attitude, or lack of apology, at all.

The food all-in-all is very underwhelming. We ended up spending $350+ on the pre-fixe meal and drinks here, but only maybe 1 or 2 of the 6 dishes and 4 drinks were memorable. There are better Mexican restaurants in the city for the same price range - and even better ones for a lower budget.

We will not be returning.

I have been to Cosme at least 8/9 times (one of my favorite places) and I had always had a great experience both in terms of the food and service until my experience this week.

Service was sloppy to say the least, the best dish in the menu to me are the duck carnitas but this time they were a little hard and not as juicy as they always been. The bar selection is sub par for this place.

I just didn’t realize it was going to be a tasting menu, where all the favorite dishes are an additional cost. Not what I signed up for, was looking forward to the regular menu and tacos

One of the most increíble dinning experiences of my life.

We went for our anniversary. The food is incredible but.... there were too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak. The staff is large and does not seem to communicate very well. It felt like our server changed with each course. We will be back but not with the pre fix menu.

Outstanding menu, delicious

Cosme is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. They do an incredible job making you feel like a million bucks. We sat right away as soon as we checked in. I miss their bar, but there’s nothing we can do about that at the moment.

This time at Cosme they offered a 4 course pre fixe menu. About 4-5 options per course were available. The menu was broken down to a seafood, vegetable, entree, and dessert course. I had an order of guacamole and the “uni infladita” which was a nice 2/3 bite start to dinner. The “forest mushrooms and grits with truffle” which was creamy and incredible. The short rib entree which was very filling, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. For dessert I had the hazelnut and pear option which was a great unique combination.

Service was 10/10! I was supplied with a steady stream of cocktails, the entire staff is incredibly friendly, and they politely police guests to wear their face masks. Our server was cool and sincerely thanked us for the gratuity we left. We will be back!

The (Mexican) music was very loud and we had trouble having a conversation. Please lower the volume.

Incredible Mexican cuisine with a pleasurable presentation.

Cosme nailed indoor dining during covid. The tables are well spaced apart, with every other two-top blocked so there is space. But it still somehow felt lively and normal.

Did dinner and the wine pairing and thought the food was absolutely fantastic. The red shishito and dungeoness crab appetizer was great, the heirloom grits were also delicious and the tamarind lamb breast is one of the best things I’ve eaten in a very long time. The only thing I didn’t love was the membrillo con queso which was way too heavy. With that said, we were there for an anniversary and the staff brought a dessert on the house that involved merengue which was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.

The pairings were also spot to on. All in all great service, great experience and a picture of how indoor dining and be done right.

This place is supposed to be good? No wonder they don’t put their prices on the online menu. Cosme is a glorified Taco Bell Cantina

Es un excelente lugar, una excelente selección de platillos, aunque las entradas son muy pequeñas, sin embargo los postres son sobresalientes.

Los cócteles muy buenos, con nombres muy ingeniosos que hacen honor al folclor mexicano.

Amazing food in a good atmosphere

Food outstanding but very slow to get our drink from the bar.

Found this place to be more trendy and a bit pretentious rather than great food and ambiance. Service was the best part but we found the experience underwhelming. Disappointed. Won’t be returning. (Tables for two are too long to even talk give the the noise level)

Went to Cosme years ago and wasn't thrilled. Went back for a recent brunch because the restaurant keeps appearing on critics' "best" lists. Surprise -- brunch was excellent. Background music was much too loud for quiet conversation, but my wife and I will try Cosme again for dinner someday. Maybe it will redeem itself.

Service was very slow this time. Like crazy slow.

I was blown away by Cosme honestly. I thought I was going to a high end fru fru where the servings meant I was going to grab a burger before heading home not.The total opposite happened and I loved everything from the appetizers to the main course. I cannot give a bigger recommendation than that.

Price points weren’t bad either. Will be coming back for sure.

Food was meh for the price. Didn’t charge us for the pork we thought was just fat. Didn’t make up for the time wasted and had to go find another restaurant to actually have dinner. Couldn’t pay me to eat here again

El lugar es muy bonito. La atención fue muy buena. La comida estuvo bueno, pero es demasiado costoso.

The food portions were small, not tasty, and definitely not worth the price (which was high). We had to go get food elsewhere after we left.

We went there for brunch with some friends and everything was delicious! They gave us a small cake as a an anniversary gift! Amazing service!

Friends in town

Decayó tremendamente. Fuimos cuando recién abrió y fue increíble. Hoy desde el ambiente hasta el menú perdieron esencia y puntos fuertes. Una lástima.
