   The views from Cortina are gorgeous. The service can not be surpassed. The menu is unique and fun. The food was excellent. The pork chop was a big hit at our table. The rissoto was excellent. We enjoyed everything!

   Service was amazing, but once the restaurant started filling up it became quite loud. Luckily we were at a small table of four, anything larger, and it would have been hard to hear the person across the table. The food that came out well prepared was good, but there were several dishes that were not executed well. A medium filet came out well done, it was sent back for another filet. The second filet came out extremely charred on the outside, which made it difficult to cut and it was borderline rare to medium rare instead of medium. It pretty much remained untouched throughout the course of the meal. Additionally, the rustic bread in the Frutti Di Mare dish came out over charred to the point of being black and unappetizing. On the plus side, all four of the different desserts were executed well. Would I go back, I think I will stick with some of the amazing local places in Big Sky.

   The restaurant is located in the Montage Hotel so you should expect it to be pricey. Food and service were very high quality. The ambiance is a bit sterile for my personal taste.

   This was our 3rd time dining at Cortina since last August. We had an early evening dinner reservation, so were seated promptly. The restaurant quickly became busier and much noisier than on our previous visits. Our waitperson was very knowledgeable about the menu offerings, which change seasonally. We were surprised that she never enquired if we wanted any cocktails or wine. (We had to make the request when she took our meal order.) The salads were very large, even when split between 2 of us. Our entrees (duck, filet mignonette, fish and stuffed chicken breast) were all well prepared.

   275 Stars (55 X 5) We have had the amazing pleasure over 55 yes fifty-five dinner dates since at Cortina in the Montage since it opened December 15, 2021. We enjoy the overall experience at Cortina far more than any other restaurant. Going to Cortina is not just an experience in amazingly wonderful food and personal attention. It really feels like going out on a special date each week. Victorio Gonzalez, Montage GM, is so polished he’s almost a fictional character that many can admire, but only he achieves. He is both extremely pleasant and at the same time flawless. Cameron Tyler, has been at Cortina as its general manager since it opened. He sets the theme. Each staff member works together to achieve the most pleasant experience for diners. When asked how he achieves unmatched cooperation among staff he answered “ that is simply the way it must be”. Then there is Chef Sean Koenig. Somehow he treats us, and we are certain others, as if he is our personal chef. Croix Nickodemus, Manager of Restaurants, is like a personal friend and treats us that way whenever we see him. Every restaurant must have a spiritual tone. Oscar Chinchilla, beverage director, plays that role perfectly greeting us by saying “welcome home” when we arrive. That makes us feel so very good. We would be remiss not to mention our two favorite waitstaff KC and MC. They constantly anticipate ours needs and satisfy them before we can ask. Sommelier Ryan, bartender Peter and so many others all contribute to the wonderful experience of dining at Montage. We have not met the new pastry chef. However he preceded our meeting by preparing an Argentinian specialty dulce de leche for Argentine Sylvie’s recent birthday. We truthfully tell people that we feel like Teslas getting recharged every Saturday at Ristorante Cortino aka Cortina at Montage.

   This restaurant is disorganized, chaotic and has extremely poor service. For example, there is no clear service staff, we waited for everything, they refused to give us silverware because they claimed they give silverware only with each specific course, a practice I have never heard of before. The Maître d', who was apparently also the waiter, knew nothing about the food, and it appeared that the chef knew nothing about Italian food, as well. The pasta was very over cooked, with way too much sauce. This chef would be skewered in Italy. The service was chaotic and slow. The prices are exorbitant, at best. the setting, however, is beautiful. The only way I would return here is if they change the Maître d', change the chef, and remake the menu to be actually Italian, and hire and train the staff.

    We came back to Cortina because it was so fabulous the first time we went in early Feb. The second time is even better the the first time as they all remembered our name and what we like. It is like seeing old friends again.

    Excellent dinner and service from start to finish. We have eaten at the finest restaurants in many ski resort towns in Montana, Colorado, and Utah, and this is one of our finest dining experiences. The sommelier made excellent recommendations that perfectly matched the food AND our specific tastes (the Gaja Vistamare Toscana IGT was one of the best crisp and light non-oaked white wines we have ever enjoyed). The dinner selections were prepared to perfection (filets, spaghetti pomodoro, appetizers), and the service and attention to detail also helped to create a wonderfully relaxed dining experience.

    This was a mixed experience for us. The staff was overwhelmingly hospitable with us to get started. From hostess to water server to assistant server to cocktail waitress to head server to sommelier to head server to maître d’ to runner to sous chef we were inundated with care- then it all stopped. It took forever to get the bill and leave. As far as the important part- the food- it was also mixed. Even coming from a group of “salt-a-holics “ ( who love Cagun dishes) three of four entrees were so over-salted that they couldn’t possibly have been tasted in the kitchen prior to being served. But there were other wonderful side dishes that were notable. I’ll give them another chance but they are not yet ready for a Michelin star.

    We had a most delicious and memorable meal at Cortina on Sunday. The food was outstanding .. over the top ! We were guests at the hotel and were so happy we included Cortina as one of our dinner plans. M.C., our server, was amazing! So friendly, yet professional and knowledgeable . This was truly a memorable meal. Even chef came to our table as I had commented how I enjoyed one of his courses . He was so happy to share the ingredients! I cannot wait to return.. fingers crossed M.C. Is still there!

    Sad day at the Montage. Not the level of service one is accustomed at their properties. We made a reservation at Cortina and were informed upon arrival that they were serving the bar menu. If this is the case- Cortina SHOULD not be advertised on Open Table for lunch. Severely understaffed which made the experience underwhelming. Our servers attitude was great- but you could tell how apologetic he felt due to delays and lack of presence in dining floor. This impacted our ability the continue our ski day (1.5h quick lunch?!). Food quality was decent but sadly experiences was dampened by other factors.

    Service was a bit odd. Weird coursing, everything came out at once. Despite making it clear we were sharing mains no shared plates were provided. Various items came out cold. Disappointing for the flagship nature of the restaurant as well as price point.

    Enjoyed an anniversary dinner at Cortina for two and a half hours. From our arrival with the valet to the end of the meal, we were well cared for. Food and drinks were expressive, flavorful and unique. Beautiful setting.

    I am giving the restaurant an A+ , and they can thank their most competent manager , Jordan , for the excellent rating ! I eat at five star restaurants many times a month in Las Vegas and Los Angeles , where I have homes . The food is amazing and because there was a glitch with service , Jordan made everything alright . It is because of Jordan that I will be a regular at this restaurant at Montage in Big Sky . Now it is a five star restaurant , under the helm of Jordan .

    This was our third time at Cortina, unfortunately it will be the last for a long time. They need to fire the management and the chef. You expect overpriced food in Big Sky but the food quality itself;f was terrible. the service was nonexistent. for example our waiter stopped by at the beginning but never came back to the table instead wandering around the check in table. We had to flag random other people to place orders request bread etc. The Pasta was served with a canned sauce that was reminiscent of Spaghetti-Os just horrible. The Octopus was so rubbery as to present a chocking hazard. Please please close it down and start over.

    This is my second dining experience at Cortina. The service improved greatly. The only issue is the valet parking fee is a bit excessive at $26.
