Food was okay - a few items were delicious, a few were just fine, and a few were substandard. Service was good when we had it, but the staff must have been spread too thin - we were constantly sitting and waiting for someone to come back to our table. Our water glasses were consistently empty. Eventually, we asked them to just leave a pitcher for us, which they were reluctant to do, but we were much happier with. Even paying the bill was slow - took them about 10 minutes to collect our card. In summary, if the service were faster / more consistent, this would have been a nice meal.

Unfortunately the service and food was terrible. Never take the time to write a bad review, but need to because was really expecting so much more. 1. We poured our own wine because the server was too busy even though the place was border line 50% full. 2. Had to request bread three times. 3. Had to re-iterate our order x2 after 2 visits. Big mistake: 4. Ordered the Snapper, when it came out looked at with confusion. The server came to our table to ask us everything? My immediate response was, “are you going to tell me this is snapper”? It obviously was not. When the manager came to our table I said to him…”this looks like a branzino, not a snapper” he said yet “you are right.” Then went on to apologize and say there was a mix up and it’s the verbal special not on the menu. I’m like that’s a $72.00 mix up and not interested. We asked for our check. They literally tried to serve me the Branzino instead of Snapper and mention nothing regardless of cost or quality. Then on my way out, saw a chef in the hallway, told him what happened and asked why? He’s response “we getting rid of an over supply” your server should have told you. What a ridiculous experience…will never go back. Would expect so much more from a restaurant on the 24th floor of the “Ritz Carlton” in downtown Los Angeles. Very disappointing!

Cocktail, ordered immediately upon sitting, was delivered quite a bit after the first course. Wrong sequencing. Menu on the website had no prices, so it was difficult to determine in advance, in deciding whether or not to go (for those for whom price is a factor), if the pricing would be acceptable. It turned out to be quite high: for example, standard cocktail at $26, vs something more like (also shockingly) upper teens to $20 for typical high end restaurant in LA (or Manhattan for context). Food was creative, authentic, and well-executed.

Interesting flavors from across Latin America and the cocktails were on point. But the ambience despite the cool view was pretty clinical. Felt like a hotel lounge sports bar with better food. Service was ok. Overall I felt it was overpriced for the menu choices. This whole $150 wagyu trend really needs to stop because I mistakenly ordered it instead of the $50 filet and seriously it tasted like a good CostCo steak. Only after I got the bill I was like…that didn’t taste any better than what I can do on a weekend in the backyard. But the mistake was mine. Short rib (barbacoa) was tender and came with a good number of accompaniments. The appetizers were creative - so overall food was good. Overall I’ll come back for drinks before game or a concert and stick to the shareable tapas.

High above LA at the Ritz Carlton is a great place, but the service and food choices are slim. This is one of two restaurants available at the Ritz, so we chose it. The waiter forgot one of our items, until I asked. He (Ricardo) basically forgot about us all during dinner - maybe he was embarrassed because he spilled our wine all over the table. Would not recommend.

Outstanding dinner here, very creative turns on aquachile, empanadas and a delicious barbacoa. We live part time in Mexico and this matched anything we have had in La Valle, St Miguel and San Lucas. Kay was a terrific sever and Chef Kevin stopped by as well. Highest recommendation.

Generally great experience with great food and a great view. The beetroot salad in mole rosa may be the most humble-looking thing on the menu, but it punched way above its weight in flavor and uniqueness. Everything else we had was also excellent. intriguing cocktail menu. The charred pepper floating in the Flor de la Gente is a neat sensation -- since it's not mixed in the drink, it doesn't desensitize your tastebuds, but your nose gets a dose with every sip. Service attentive. Can't beat the view, but I do question the sports-bar TVs over the bar. It doesn't fit the vibe, and they reflect off the windows, marring the view.

Loved everything about the place. Before, Wolfgang Puck's restaurant was became a major disappointment. CORTEZA AT SENDERO delivered from all corners; David, our waiter, was friendly and so helpful with our choices. Hokkaido scallops, lobster coctel (this was a surprise tasteful surprise for us), zucchini flowers, hangar steak, barbacoa were all delicious. The food was talking to with all Latin flavors. Well crafted cocktails and good wine list(although we didn't order wine). It was a great dinner right before the home opener for the Lakers. And what a way to end the day by collecting first season's win. Please don't change and turn out to be another corporate restaurant. We will come back again.

Very good food, highly recommend the tiradito and huitlacoche tamal. Monday night so it was pretty empty and possibly the less trained staff, but it was very empty which made the incredibly slow service (we waited 15m just to have someone take our drinks order, before even getting menus) even stranger.

Corteza is a part of the Sendero restaurant collection at the Ritz Carlton Los Angles. It is a magnificent addition to the space serving latin inspired cuisine from South America. The arepas, empanadas and chorizo were out of this world. Our service was warm, courteous, engaging and superb. The dessert is not to be missed. They have an extensive wine and drink menu that pairs well with the food. Overall a perfect special occasion meal.

We had a wonderful brunch, celebrating Mother’s Day here. Can’t wait to go back to try their dinner menu! Loved how Chef Kevin was there to make sure that everything was going perfectly and his food was prepared and served the way he intended it to be. All restaurants have a beautiful decor and ambiance. I was not satisfied with the quality of food I was paying for. The food came, unfortunately I had to leave the restaurant and I asked for my meal that I was charged for to be boxed up. I paid $110 for a single meal that was given to me incomplete. What was presented to me on the table was not what was packed up and given to me for take away. I feel cheated out by the fact that I was charged for a full meal that was not given to me.

It was a great night! We enjoyed food very much. Each dish was delicious. Small menu but each dish served in perfection. The menu was not child friendly, however, even she liked the food and she is a picky eater. We went there with our 12 years old daughter, we were celebrating for her bday and they even served 2 different desserts for her. Service was spot on. Definitely recommend, will go again!
