About
Took my husband here for his birthday and had a great experience. The quality of the food was very good and so was the service. Will definitely make it a point to dine here again.
Excellent food, waitstaff, not too fancy. Comfortable and classy and feels like a neighborhood restaurant
Limited menu but all items are carefully thought through and prepared. Tables are too close together for my comfort. I realize it's a small space, but because the tables are so closely spaced you end up having dinner with people you don't know.
We love chef Louis! We love sitting at the kitchen bar and the food is delish. Always a good time.
We went here around 10pm when they were about to close. We were expecting that the hostess would rush us as the kitchen was about to close. But to our surprise, she didn’t. I was very impressed with her friendliness and taking time to answer our questions. She give us space and time to decide what we wanted to order. It made a huge difference to the entire experience!
The food quality was phenomenal! Their chicken main is to die for. I have never had a chicken so soft that melts in your mouth- yummm. The pasta was wonderful too- made just right.
Five star on everything - the management and owner should be very proud of the staff for providing stellar experience and food right till then end of the night when probably everyone is tired and wanting to go home.
Will definitely go back. Have already told all my friends about it:)
Food was good, but it was the smallest portion of pasta I've had at a Italian restaurant. There were only 3 shrimp and not much pasta in the Farfalle. It was also a little heavy on the oil. The flavor was good. The other person with me had the cannelloni and thought it was tasty. I would come back again to give it another try.
Went to Corso for our anniversary. Last time we were there was 7 years ago for our anniversary and the experience is just as amazing. Great vibe and very friendly service. Food was amazing too and so hard to decide what to order because everything sounded delicious! I can’t say enough great things about this place and I’m looking for another reason to go back lol
The food was great, but the service was off and took long time with no check ins. They also called and told me that my reservation was one hour earlier, when i didn't made any change (I now see changed reservation email, but I didn't make the change. It must have happened on the restaurants side). Our table was close to the kitchen area and they must've opened the back door or something and it was freezing. With knowing it was a birthday celebration, they didn't do anything special except a candle. I'd rather spend my time and money aomewhere else next time.
Returning customers. The food was excellent with this caveat; we found maybe a few tablespoons of polenta under the cheese, and that was disappointing. That said, the chicken was incredibly tender, the seasoning nuanced, and overall, it was another satisfying dinner out at Corso.
Lovely place; our favorite. Excellent bartender too beautiful food.
Our meal was good, but the portions are very small for the price. When we found a long, black hair in our salad (ew!), the salad was promptly replaced, but there was no compensation for that appetite-deadening faux pas.
Really delicious fish and pasta. Service was great.
As always, excellent service from the kitchen, wait staff, and bartender. Thank you!
Both of us started with the "Crostini di Fegato - tuscan chicken liver pâté, sage, capers, anchovy, grilled bread / $13", which as always was fabulous.
Then I had the "Farfalle - gulf shrimp, tomato, olives, capers, white wine, bread crumbs / $23". It was excellent, though I found that if I ate the shrimp separately from the bowties and sauce I could taste the shrimp's wonderful flavor better. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the sauce really wonderful.
My spouse had the "Spada - grilled local swordfish, charred endive, farro verde, fennel oregano salsa verde / $31" and enjoyed it very much.
Drinks: my spouse had "The Ruse - bourbon, lemon, averna, almond orgeat, sherry, honey, orange bitters / $13" which she likes, and my go to drink, St. George Terroir on the rocks was perfect!
Go to Corso, you will not regret it!
best ever, every time. but apparently i need to write 50 characters
Had potato, gorgonzola, white wine, pear, walnut tortellini that was off the charts. Yum! My honey had the swordfish and we went for the irresistible side of polenta that makes life richer and the belly happy. Sat at the bar with an excellent, friendly, mellow bartender. Everyone on staff here is lovely. If we lived a little closer I'd be going to Corso more often. LOVE it.
First visit here was so fabulous, we’ll be back! From salad through dessert, we wished it appropriate to lick the plates. Amazingly fresh, intriguing to the palate, and promptly, ascetically presented courses. Small enough to be intimate, yet, spacious to comfortably accommodate a group. Highly recommended!
They were very accommodating, for 6 people on a reservation for 4 at short notice. The menu is small but very well executed. And they have the best Negronis in the world.
Was disappointed in non-meat options. Reservation was at 7 pm and they were already out of ravioli which was one Of only two non meat entres.
I always like Corso. I shared the steak with a friend this time, very excellent. The side of potatoes was almost too al dente. Did not like the carpaccio too much, it was thickly sliced, compared to how I thought it should be, or have had in other restaurants, including Italy. But overall, a good experience. Always happy to go back.
Very good food, but the menu is quite static and the place is far too noisy for good conversation.
Corso is my go to place for everything and every location!
I have never been so enchanted with a simple sea bass. It was done perfectly. It was flavorful. It was a complete delight. I only wish I’d been sitting on a sunny patio overlooking the Mediterranean, but a romantic dinner with my sweetheart was just as wonderful.
Love the place! Best in Berkeley
Fantastic neighborhood spot that never disappoints.
Love this place. Service and food excellent. Wine list amazing!
Food was great and a friendly staff. Definitely will recommend to my friends.
We arrived early and were promptly seated by the window. At that time there weren't many other diners and the noise level was very low. In the past, later in the evening it can get loud. Before looking at the menu we enjoyed glasses of prosseco. We opted for starters, pastas and a dessert to share. Every thing was beyond good.: excellent. Plates were attractive, piping hot and delicious...just what we expect at Corso.
Corso and Rivoli have been sending a joint monthly e-news letter that I find informative and worth reading. I made it a point to let Rosco, the owner, how much I appreciate getting it.
Delicious food, good service in a neighborhood restaurant. Would definitely recommend and will return.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. It also happens to be in our neighborhood. Special bonus!
Brought out of town friends. Did not disappoint. Everything was delicious.
Superb service.
We enjoyed the food very much, but the noise level made it difficult to carry on a conversation.
The soup at the beginning and the dessert at the end were fabulous. Everything else in between was not great. Not bad, just not great.
The cocktails were wonderful and the food was great. We loved the squid ink pasta and appreciated the help the server gave in deboning the fish. The room is loud but we were able to hear each other.
So good, on every level. Service, food, drinks and ambience.
Service was great, enjoyed the food, but the restaurant is just too noisy.
The food and service were excellent. It was at times hard to hear the other person I was with as the space is small with hard surfaces, but it's made up for by the amazing food.
The good was amazing, the host and the waiter were unwelcoming and subpar. The table next to my party was also complaining.
Overall great although the pork belly was super fatty! They exchanged this dish for another without any trouble. The salmon was delicious and service top notch!
Birthday dinner, as usual the best steak in the area.
Corso continues to be consistently very good! I always have their Branzino... It's delicious! My beet salad was also delicious! Services was as good as the food! I love the warm ambiance of the restaurant!
