When we arrived, a man on the bench outside said, “This was the best food I ever ate.” I might agree. To me the test is: how are the veggies? Our salad was amazing. Broccolini the best ever. Pasta wonderful, of course, but improved by the veggies. Panna cotta, superb. And the wait staff is excellent.
The service was excellent. Staff was friendly and informative. Had that ability to be around but not hover. The atmosphere was lively. Wine list was extensive. If there is one thing they could improve it would be the acoustics. It was very hard to hear my companion. Wish them every success.
As always, excellent dining experience!
Love this restaurant, best food, great service - most consistent in the east bay.
Fantastic meal. Food (both quantity and quality), ambiance and especially the service was excellent.
Will definitely recommend Corso as a high-end dining experience! Wonderful dinner.
We loved Corso the first time we went there so I am sad to say that this time it was very disappointing. It wasn’t even half full yet we could not make a reservation for our preferred time at 6pm. We ordered salt cod and potato fritters, the fish was not fresh i fact my mom got sick later that evening. I had chicken thighs “under brick”, white polenta, broccoli di cecco. The chicken was under done and wiggled when i tried to cut it, polenta had no seasoning at all and was tasteless and broccoli stems were as hard as wood. I am really sorry to write this review since truly good restaurants are very hard to find and I hope it was a one off. Having been in the business for many years I know how difficult it is to pull off but every visit counts.
we had a fabulous meal, and couldnt stop talking about what a wonderful experience it was
We were warmly greeted and quickly seated at a lovely table by the window. Specialty dishes were described well and the wine recommendations were perfect. I love the atmosphere here - muted lights, happy conversations, seeing the kitchen action and the aroma of food in progress. Highly recommend!!
The food was excellent - would recommend for sure!
I enjoyed Corso. The quality of the food was very good although the portions were on the small side. Service was good and the staff is super nice. I was disappointed that I could not get free refills on ice tea. Prices are what you would expect for an upper tier restaurant.
Corso is an authentic Italian neighborhood restaurant. Whenever we go, we wonder why we don't return more often.
What a great find! We will be back to try other items on the menu
Server a little curt - perhaps because we brought our own bottle of wine? Otherwise very good (as usual)
This is our go-to restaurant for family celebrations! It never disappoints and the chicken in butter is one of our go-to mains. So, so yummy!
We love good Italian food and it is always a treat not to have to make it ourselves. Nothing says "celebration" like a nice whole branzino, a carafe of white wine and a flight of bitters, with a great pasta, inventive antipasto and side added in...and a panna cotta or profiteroles to precede the bitters. At Corso, you can depend on it! True, it's a bit loud in there, but by reserving a table next to a wall we had one quiet neighbor.
Corso is a neighborhood gem! Absolutely fabulous food! We were celebrating two birthdays, so myself and the other birthday girl decided to split everything so we could share our experience as well as our birthdays! We started with the Caesar salad, very generous portion and the dressing was amazing. The Ziti pasta dish was incredible, the favors blending together to the limit of your palate. The sea bass was so moist and unbelievably delicious! I could eat it every day! Great restaurant!
excellent as always. such a special place.
Went to Corso to celebrate a birthday and had a very nice experience. The seafood tasted very fresh and the house-made past was excellent.
The food was great and unique. The service was amazing. We also loved the atmosphere. We can’t wait to go back!
Te\he food is fabulous - it's worth putting up with the noise.
You didnt have butter chicken. We were very disappointed.
Service was excellent from the returned call to adjust my reservation to the wait staff. Our main waiter was just okay but the rest of the staff was excellent. Thus, the Very Good rating instead of Outstanding. The food was wonderful. I remembered as much and was not disappointed to return for a special occasion. From the salumi platter to the flour-less chocolate cake, everything was delicious.
Terrific experience. Sadly they ran out of our favorite chicken dish but
Love Corso! Delicious food, great atmosphere, a fave for all occasions.
food was just amazingly good. chicken liver pâté and ossobucco can’t be missed!
great moment, excellent food, great recommendations, as I was on the bar talking to Ryan the bar tender, a great guy!
Amazing Food, truly friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. You can just tell the everyone likes working there. The staff is attentive, but not pushing, friendly but not fake at all. It makes the environment a fun place to be. Not to mention the food, most consistent in the east bay, maybe all of the may area. The steak is the best I have ever had and the Bronzino is always soo taste and delicate. You just can't go wrong at Corso
I ordered the rock fish which was listed as “fritters”.
They came as three balls of crab cakes
I was expecting deep fried fish and it was a disappointment .
Amazing as always! Exceptional staff and service! The food is beyond good and always consistent. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
interesting and delicious crafted cocktails, gorgonzola "salad" with honey and charred endive was a home run (we both agreed), and angiolotti with pear purée and charred sage exquisite. Papparadelle with chicken ragu was delicious but second place behind the angiolotti. Service and advice by Alexis was, as always, smart, courteous and correct both for food and cocktails. And always appreciate the staff being cognizant of curtain times. Corso is a gem.
perfect place for pre-theater dinner; great food, attentive and timely service, walking distance to Zellerbach hall and other Berkeley theater
The ossobucco was delicious and we enjoyed sharing it along with a unique salad of Gorgonzola, apples, grilled endive and walnuts. I appreciate that Corso offers both half and full glasses of wines by the glass.
Very good. Small portions. Had to fill up on bread. Excellent service. Ask for Savanna.
Can't believe this was our first visit to Corso. It is definitely our new favorite spot for special occasions and taking people that come for visits from out of town.
While the food and service was very good, the ambience was shattered by the excessive noise level, and we could not hear each others' words during the meal. I would suggest getting an acoustic expert to place material on the ceiling to absorb the excessive noise. Thus,we will not return to this restaurant!!
Not only was the waiting staff friendly and accommodating, but the food was delicious! Gluten free bread + drinks are a huge plus. Couldn't recommend this place more highly for an intimate dinner.
Service excellent and the food was absolutely delicious! Will return!
One of our son’s favorite restaurants to dine at when we visit. Corso never disappoints- always so good!
Food is generally good, but the main courses offer limited options.
Not our first time at Corso, and won't be our last. Great service, the food was absolutely delicious, really. One of my consistently favorite restaurants.
