Wonderful meal with a great ambiance.
Great scene, relaxed and refined. Quieter times are best for conversation.
Excellent staff, service, and food! One of our favorites to go when we want a wonderful meal with friendly people!
Food is fab. We had the broccolini with EVO, lemon etc & the restaurant’s wonderful preparation of Florentine Tripe. We shared their fab grilled branzino. Service was excellent but took a while to reach us, even though we were dining very early.
The only downside was the noise level due to the closeness of the tables to each other.
Everything was great until they brought me an overdone, dried out chicken breast. Why ruin a delicious meal with this piece of hide served in a hot metal pan of liquified fat? It was not tender. It lacked any manner of flavor (burned off?) Again, the rest of the meal, and the other dishes on the table, were excellent. But my meal was ruined by this dish which you were proud enough of to place in front of me.
We went to celebrate and we were not let down! Another wonderful meal.
I like Corso a lot and this eve everything was excellent.
The Tripe was absolutely killer as were the Prawns with
pimenton. Done perfectly,
Veal piccata was outstanding as well.
Bryan( or Brian) was great. Took very good care of us.
In spite of being very busy
This is my go to place when I don’t have time to cook!!
It was still quite a dinn at 8:30pm, but our friend was there and we were three. Our server was great in getting wine and the Salume (?) multiple cured, sliced meats and pickeled veggies and bread and butter, together. We were then deep in converdation, but before we lost the ability to order, we decided to split three things: 1) the first home made pasta dish with a little meat, 2) the phenomial side of baked polenta and 3) yet another side of garlic spinach! Wooo-hooo! My affogato correto came with chocolate gelato and a candle--my birthday--and David's affogato correto came with vanilla gelato! We closed the place down and so enjoyed our dinner! A great time was had by all!
Love their pastas and wines. Service like no other restaurant!
We try to go every time we are in Berkeley. Rivals our best Italian meals on our recent trip to Italy. Highly recommended.
Skip the corn and clam chowder; the flavor was just weird. The branzino with a side of polenta was lovely. The panna cotta was a revelation.
Corso has been a go-to restaurant for us in N. Berkeley and in the past several years the food has been excellent. The food this last time was uniformly poor. One diner had cannelloni that was clearly not freshly prepared and was swimming in a bland tomato-based sauce, and the other had the fegato starter that was also poor. Both diners had a fish main course that consisted of fried cod (that tasted fine) and squid on a large heap of beans that were not tasty. If this will be the culinary standard for Corso going forward we will not be dining there.
It was the next night before surgery for one of our party and the food, service, and ambience for 3 close friends made it memorable. Thank you.
Service here is excellent and so is the food. This time my favorite was the corn chowder. The sauce for the shrimps was too salty for my taste and I would have preferred oil and garlic to the tomatoey sauce. I would love to see more dishes that come with some form of vegetables. The noise level is far too high for my preference. Still, overall, I love Corso. Would like to try the other dishes but can't afford to come more than occasionally.
Excellent service, adjustments to orders, and consideration
After all these years consistently good food incredible service Berkeley institution!
Great food and experience. Will be back!
Consistently excellent food and service. Always outstanding. A delicious find for us. We happened to walk in one evening 3 years ago, just randomly and fell in love. One of our all time favorite restaurants. Their signature Butter Roast Chicken is an absolute must😍
A nice reliable neighborhood stalwart and always pretty good, but nothing super special these days.
Amazing food and service! Relaxed atmosphere with amazing food.
As always an amazing dining experience! The steak is cooked to perfection. All the dishes are extremely executed and filled with pure flavor.
Visit regularly and find the food to be genuinely authentic, fresh and well presented. The service is top notch, attentive but not overwhelming. It can be a little noisy but sitting in the corners near the windows may assist.
the food is good and the portions are veery ample, but this time some dishes were a little too salty: the shrimp fritters, the large sheet of pasta stuffed with three cheeses (panna... whatever the name).
We had not been in many years and had forgotten how good the food was. We had the whole sea bass, polenta, and chocolate fourless cake. Everything was excellent and will return soon.
We always enjoy dining at Corso. The food has consistently been Great
Always a delightful experience. Always SPECTACULAR service and yummy dinners. Many locals, many travelers, great for special occasions and intimate meals.
Corso is an outstanding restaurant, even by Berkeley standards. The meal was excellent, the service was superb, and the ambiance was great. There isn't anything on the menu I wouldn't try,. but I would especially recommend the Salsiccia with superb homemade sausage. My wife had the salmon and though it was wonderful as well. And for dessert, it's hard to get better than the chocolate budini.
Lovely meal, great food, starters and primary dishes +!cocktails
First and foremost, the food was exceptional. We had a salmon dish which was prepared to perfection. The appetizer course, grilled sardines, were wonderful as well. The ambiance was great, but we did score a table that was near the front window so we were not surrounded by other patrons. The service was exceptional as well. Our server provided excellent descriptions of the dishes and regularly checked-in to ensure our experience was satisfactory.
This is one of our favorite North Berkeley restaurants. Fresh ingredients, meticulous preparation, great menu, in a lovely dining space that is easy to get to on foot (from Berkeley BART). The wait staff always provides friendly and knowledgeable service (ask about any dish and they will give you all the juicy details). The pasta is made fresh and it is always perfect. If you don't like pasta, there are so many other options; something for every taste. Tables book fast; advanced booking is recommended. Sitting at the bar also is nice, if you can get a spot.
Excellent food, great drinks, attentive and efficient service. We had (as always) a great evening at Corso! Thank you!
Usually the food is consistently good and predictable. Today’s visit was an exception. The Raviolo and the Shrimp Fritters were bland and pretty tasteless - badly I need of salt and pepper. Even the olives were not in the usual charming oil with citrus. Not sure what was going on but s suggestion is for the beds to taste food they’re user influence
The experience in the restaurant was incredible, the service was great and the food just spectacular!!
I found this restaurant through the open table app and after reviewing the comments I decided to give it a try. Absolutely delicious.
By the way, if you see the pictures of the food, don’t get fooled, they are much bigger!!
A must try
Wonderful as usual.
All good except I asked for my Branzino to be deboned and the kitchen didn’t do a very good job. Hard to eat without choking. And like almost all restaurants, too loud. Otherwise great.
terrific place to dine but go early to avoid the noise
One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in the bay area. The prices are very reasonable, given the quality of the food.
