Fast and tasty: very small portions of meat (never seen a chicken breast so small and so dry!). Interesting combinations some work, some not so much. Works good for a quick bite before a show. Basic setting.

First the restaurant is located on a horrible block. Second, it definitely has more of a cafe feel to it than a restaurant. Most of the tables were high tops. The staff while friendly were so understaffed you felt sorry for them. The food was meh. We will not be returning.

Food was excellent; the bolognese in particular was just delicious. Nothing super fancy, just a basic sauce, but executed perfectly. Service was extremely prompt -- my only complaint would be that it was almost a little _too_ prompt. The food actually showed up before my drink. I kinda like to be able to sip my drink for a few minutes before the food shows up, so I'm not choosing between having a chat with my dining companion and getting a nice preprandial buzz, or eating my food while it's still warm...

My friend and I went for lunch here and we both got the salad and sandwich combo. Great portions and extremely reasonably priced. The friend was evaluated and delicious. Also our waiter was really attentive and kind. Good recommendation for a solid lunch spot

Corridor exceeded our expectations, we were seated promptly, had attentive service and outstanding food and drinks. We went pre-show and didn't have any issues, even though it was fairly busy for a Tuesday night. Highly recommend.

The Corridor was a pleasant surprise! We chose this restaurant because it takes reservations which is a plus in a very busy and popular area for food, drink, and theater. The food was delicious, the service exceptional. The only slight negative was that it was a warm day, therefore the restaurant temperature was on the warm side.

I really don’t like this place. If you make a reservation they like to dump you on a counter table. The service is poor. The food is mediocre. The bar looks nice. Get a drink and avoid the restaurant

We enjoyed the food and service here. My husband had the short ribs, which were served off the bone in a flavorful sauce. I had the vegetable pie. The crust and sauce were excellent, but I found it a little short on vegetables. Very good cheesecake, with an interesting less-sweet approach. I would call the cuisine contemporary comfort food. Conveniently located for attending opera, symphony, or ballet.

The carrot risotto is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The combination of textures was insane. Everything else was good to great. But the carrot risotto was otherworldly.

Hair in my food. Server was rude and insulted my guest who was hard of hearing for talking too loud, saying “we don’t tolerate that here”. A reminder to seek to understand.

We had a 6:15 reservation and had advised that we were going to the opera. We arrived a 5:45 and we were seated immediately. It was almost 7 p.m. when we left. We would never have made our opera had we come at 6:15.
The menu was very small, only about 5 entrees. But the food was excellent. Corridor is more bar than restaurant. We were seat upstairs. There were only a few tables and a counter that overlooked the bar below. It was comfortable, but we would have preferred a table. We felt sorry for the servers who had to run downstairs to get the food from the kitchen and run back upstairs to serve it. That may be why the service was slow.

The food was superb, and the staff negotiated some food sensitivities with aplomb. The side-by-side seating along the second floor did not make for quite so easy conversation with my dinner partner; and the space, though large, is a bit echoey.

Enjoyed a dinner with friends here last Saturday prior to going to see Hamilton. Had the halibut and it was terrific. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and had good service. Walk-friendly to the parking garage next door and to The Orpheum Theater.

We really like this place before the Opera. It has just the right mix of good food, service, air, light and is unpretentious. Sharing food is the way to go here. The seasonal risottos are excellent: the latest a carrot risotto with a few pork balls for the meat eater is just delicious. The fried calamari is usually good...the other night it was a bit oversalted. The beers on tap rotate every few weeks and there is a good selection. Wine list is pricy. We prefer upstairs where there are smaller tables and a counter which overlooks the main floor. The tables on the main floor are larger for the after work drinks crowd and communal table people. By 6:45 those folks have mostly left.

The food here is very creative. We ordered the corn and tomato salad and the squid ink taglierini with crab. Both were delicious. The lemon/verbena semi-freddo was beautiful and imaginative--sort of an eskimo pie with white chocolate coating and a stick but it disappointed in flavor. The semi-freddo do not have enough sweetness or tartness and was overwhelmed by the chocolate. Our waiter was very helpful and made good recommendations for us. Nice pre-opera or symphony option.

We loved the food but out waiter was disappointing. We had to ask him to take our order and we let him know that we needed to make an 8:00 p.m. performance. The food took awhile to come and when we were ready to leave he was nowhere to be found, so we had to ask another waiter for the check. We never saw him again until we were walking out the door.

This restaurant is in a good location for the SF Jazz Center but the menu choices were limited and two of the four of us did not enjoy our dinner. The service was also slow even though it was only 6 pm. I might try it again but I do not give the place a great review. My dinner, risotto with truffle sauce was very bland, heavily liquified and I could hardly taste the truffles. I would not recommend that dish. My friend’s pasta dish had a bitter flavor and was not enjoyed by her. The chicken was good as was a wedge salad appetizer.

We made a reservation well in advance expecting to get a table upstairs but were seated at the counter upstairs. Not a good arrangement for enjoying a dinner and conversation with someone. The dinner selections are rather limited - we had the calamari, which was tasty by soggy, I had the falafel which wasn't crisp either, but again tasty. My companion had the crab pasta and there was not much crab in it - mostly pasta. It might be a better place for a casual dinner downstairs, but it's not the place to go for a nice dinner before the opera.

Overall, I would recommend it, but not really for a special occasion or first date.

Grabbed lunch with a coworker. Service was great. We ate upstairs (which I recommend). I had the fried shrimp soft taco and spicy bean salad. My friend had the chicken Cobb salad. Both were delicious, add in two glasses of wine and the tab was about $60

We went to Corridor before seeing a show at the Orpheum. The waiter asked up front if we needed to be out at a certain time and was very efficient with bringing us our food without making us feel rushed. We had the monkey bread (yum!), tuna, and calamari appetizers. All were great. I had the halibut as my main. It had great flavor. All of us polished off our entire plates.

Let me start by saying I urge readers to try any restaurant and make up their own mind. Everyone's taste is different. That being said: My husband and I both ordered the wedge salad, which was actually a wide slice of iceberg. Not the traditional blue cheese dressing, which our server disclosed when my husband asked. Rather, it was heavily tarragon, with so much fresh tarragon, we both ended up putting it to the side. The salad was topped with a variety of crunchy bits that were ok. I left half. My entree, pasta bolognese, was good.

Food was pretty good - nothing incredible, and a bit on the pricey side considering portion size. About what you'd expect for a trendy upscale spot in this part of the city. 3 stars means "good" and this place definitely qualifies as "good," I'm glad we tried it.

I've been to Corridor many times. I enjoy the often seasonal food selections and its convenience to the Symphony, Jazz Center, etc. I enjoyed my meal, which included a seasonal corn and tomato salad, a lovely piece of fish with a delicious sauce and a delicious "butter cake" desert. My only problem was the portion size was skimpy, especially for the salad and fish. I'm no stranger to small portions and don't go for overflowing plates, but I left hungry. Service is great and I'd go back again and order more, which makes the value less, I'm afraid.

Corridor is a casual dining restaurant with not so casual prices. Maybe for San Francisco the prices are average, but when paying $20 to $35 for entrees I expect the ambiance to match the prices. That being said, the service was excellent & all six of us (ages 11 to 77) enjoyed our food.
