Corners Tavern Ratings and Reviews
been there three times. no dish was memorable. Though not bad, would not go back for anything ive had thus far. Unfortunately there is nothing left in the menu I look forward to having. My wife and daughter had the same feeling and we do not thing we will be back.
Crazy loud inside. Diners were leaning over their food trying to hear each other. Food was fine. The rosemary bun doesn't really work with a hamburger, would have been a good choice for a sliced lamb sandwich. A friend ordered the pork chop, it was ginormous, could easily feed two.
Very helpful in making my mums birthday special with personalized menu and celebration cake so thank you for that. Food and beer are overpriced for the quality and menu is weak for vegetarians also.
This was our second visit and may sadly be the last but the staff and service were awesome
Warm inviting atmosphere with huge ceilings, great lighting and an outdoor patio, our dinner outside made us feel like we were in an open air cafe in Spain or Montreal. This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. We started with the Burrata with peaches and the secret shrimp-delicious! I'd go back again and again just the Burrata alone. We shared two entrees which the kitchen split onto separate plates for us (Another win!). We had the flounder which was such a surprise hit full of different textures and flavors on the plate. We also shared the Heirloom tomato pomodoro, which was just ok (skip it for something else). The Dark and Stormy and the Sangria cocktails kept us happy. Service was upbeat and friendly too. We'll be back!
We love Corners! It is one of our favorite restaurants in Walnut Creek. The food is always great and so is the service. We are usually there with a big group that includes kids and they are very accommodating.
We were there recently for my husband's birthday. I included this info in my open table reservation and when we got to the restaurant we saw that they had printed personalized menus wishing my husband a happy birthday. It was a very nice touch.
I usually get the steak and fries or the Cobb salad as my entree and the donut holes for dessert. So good!
I sent a private note to Corners Tavern with no response which prompted me to post this review. Historically, I have recommended Corners Tavern but no longer. My $27 pork chop was 50% fat and 25% bone. A friend's flounder was all batter and another had an overcooked burger. Service was well below expectations with no offer for a second round of drinks, we were never given a dessert menu, had to request more water twice, and when we requested coffee were told they only had espresso which sounds questionable. Great beer list and nice ambience. Overall, extremely disappointed. I will no longer recommend to my friends or visitors.
Parking in the "new" Macy's lot was easy. Service and food very good. Pretty loud inside-had to shout to be heard, but outside might be better for conversation. Lively atmosphere makes it a fun place. Have had dinner there twice - would like to try lunch to see if it is more conversation friendly.
Corners Tavern has the hip feel of a San Francisco hot spot and delicious, seasonal food that is always fresh and well seasoned. The battered ale fish is one of our go-to's and the peach burrata was amazing. Sit on the patio on a warm day and it's the perfect spot for a date or fancier for families. My only small criticism was the table was small for a family of 4 with two kids coloring, water bottles, and share plates.
I really like this place and have been on many occasions for both lunch and dinner. They have an amazing blackberry cocktail - award winning. However, I did not realize when I booked a 1pm lunch on a Sunday it was a brunch menu. Much of it geared towards brunch. We wanted the standard lunch menu. Still a great menu just wish we could have had a full lunch menu.
This was our first time here, but it certainly won't be our last. Food was excellent! There's a great feeling to the space - a nice blend of indoor and outdoor. Services was pretty darned good. Prices were a little high, not outrageous - pretty typical for Walnut Creek. I can highly recommend the chilaquiles - deeply spicy but not excessively hot. Mmmmm!
