Corners Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We met another couple there for a drinks and dinner to catch up on our lives. The drinks and wine were great. I ordered a Manhattan, chilled/up and it was mixed well but the glass was not sufficiently chilled and it got warm as I drank it. Not the best Manhattan experience. Food was very tasty, but small proportioned. My salmon filet was a bit small-but very good! The pork chop was better. This place on a Friday night was pretty loud (with the large doors shut). Many groups and mixed ages made it loud but not so you couldn't talk at your table. Server/service were excellent! This is a cool place in a good spot for downtown shopping/movies, etc. and was pleasant atmosphere for a nice dinner. The noise level was better after a couple larger tables cleared out.
Went for an early Sunday dinner after a show at the Lesher Center for Performing Arts. Wife had the pork chop, which was moist and delicious. Stepdaughter and I both had burgers, which were thick, juicy and tasty. Enjoyed the Track 7 stout, which is a dark stout bursting with chocolate and peanut butter (!). Dessert was also yummy (chocolate hazelnut ice cream sandwiches, white peach sorbet). Also nice is that early on Sunday PM beat the rush (which can get loud) and so we had a pretty quiet dining experience which was nice. Wait staff was quick, friendly and very helpful. Extra points for giving honest personal opinions about menu choices, which I always appreciate.
Thanksgiving dinner (lunch) with my 93-year old mom. The staff was courteous and helpful and the meal was excellent. The dessert was a little disappointing but other than that everything was spot on. This was our 3rd year in a row celebrating Thanksgiving at Corners!
been there three times. no dish was memorable. Though not bad, would not go back for anything ive had thus far. Unfortunately there is nothing left in the menu I look forward to having. My wife and daughter had the same feeling and we do not thing we will be back.
Crazy loud inside. Diners were leaning over their food trying to hear each other. Food was fine. The rosemary bun doesn't really work with a hamburger, would have been a good choice for a sliced lamb sandwich. A friend ordered the pork chop, it was ginormous, could easily feed two.
Very helpful in making my mums birthday special with personalized menu and celebration cake so thank you for that. Food and beer are overpriced for the quality and menu is weak for vegetarians also.
This was our second visit and may sadly be the last but the staff and service were awesome
Warm inviting atmosphere with huge ceilings, great lighting and an outdoor patio, our dinner outside made us feel like we were in an open air cafe in Spain or Montreal. This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. We started with the Burrata with peaches and the secret shrimp-delicious! I'd go back again and again just the Burrata alone. We shared two entrees which the kitchen split onto separate plates for us (Another win!). We had the flounder which was such a surprise hit full of different textures and flavors on the plate. We also shared the Heirloom tomato pomodoro, which was just ok (skip it for something else). The Dark and Stormy and the Sangria cocktails kept us happy. Service was upbeat and friendly too. We'll be back!
We celebrated with a birthday brunch in the private dining room...it was fantastic. Everyone was so pleased with every aspect of the event. Brunch menu was a wonderful array of delectable delights! Thank you Cassandra for all the special touches.
We love Corners! It is one of our favorite restaurants in Walnut Creek. The food is always great and so is the service. We are usually there with a big group that includes kids and they are very accommodating.
We were there recently for my husband's birthday. I included this info in my open table reservation and when we got to the restaurant we saw that they had printed personalized menus wishing my husband a happy birthday. It was a very nice touch.
I usually get the steak and fries or the Cobb salad as my entree and the donut holes for dessert. So good!
I sent a private note to Corners Tavern with no response which prompted me to post this review. Historically, I have recommended Corners Tavern but no longer. My $27 pork chop was 50% fat and 25% bone. A friend's flounder was all batter and another had an overcooked burger. Service was well below expectations with no offer for a second round of drinks, we were never given a dessert menu, had to request more water twice, and when we requested coffee were told they only had espresso which sounds questionable. Great beer list and nice ambience. Overall, extremely disappointed. I will no longer recommend to my friends or visitors.
