Wonderful food. Wild mushroom Gnocchi was fantastic and so was the halibut in coriander. Cocktails great. However is always very load - hard to talk.
Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Server Mia was very pleasant and recommended selections since it was our first visit.
I live walking distance from this restaurant and always recommend going here when with friends but things were off this last visit. I wrote that it was my son's birthday but nothing was mentioned -- I had to point it out at the end of the meal. They didn't check for water even when the restaurant wasn't packed. I had to ask for utensils for the dessert they brought out. They were not at all attentive.
Corners Tavern has many things going for it, the location, the outdoor seating, the close parking. The menu has changed a little giving more choices for food. The service is always friendly, although sometimes a little slow. The only problem is the noise, very noisy.
Our food was very good however, and we always enjoy the doughnuts...
Delicious Cobb salad! For a change not overpowering with the bleu cheese. Simple creme fraiche dressing was a nice addition to an overall great salad.
This was my first time eating at Corners Tavern and the food and service were excellent! I had the French Dip that was not on the menu and it was outstanding! I will be back for lunch or dinner sometime in the near future.
We had a very nice meal. The food and service was good. If I had a criticism, it would be that it took quite a while to be served our dinner.
Had a wonderful time! The food and service was wonderful. Will be back.
This was the first time we sat in the dining room for dinner, as we have always visited the bar in the past. The food was fine, if not a little too expensive for something less than spectacular. That said, the service is awesome. To a person, each and every employee we encountered, from the hostess, to the bartender, to our wait staff, and the busboy - they were all friendly, attentive, and a pleasure. It is the service that keeps us coming back to Corner's Tavern (and the shishito peppers - which are fantastic). And we tried the brussel sprouts for the first time - they are also amazing.
Fun to sit on the patio. The people I was meeting were late & I was not rushed at all
Made a reservation for my sisters birthday. We were seated right away. Service was very slow as it took 15 + minutes to order our drinks after we had to ask a busser for our server. They were not busy. Drinks were excellent, we enjoyed the spicy tequila drink. The Cubano sandwiches were excellent, with lots of smokey tender pork and a nice soft bun. The chips were also very good. I had the carnitas tacos, which were delicious, however, they forgot to put the pickled vegetables on the plate and the tacos had no garnish except a thin sliced dry radish and a piece of cilantro. Not what the picture looked like online! Had I known the picked vegetables were left off my plate I would have asked for them. I only discovered they were missing after looking at the menu again at home to confirm I payed $17.00 for this dish! For $17.00 I expected way more on the plate. For dessert we ordered the doughnut holes. They were warm and very tender with a light creamy dipping sauce. You get a dozen, so it was perfect to share between the four of us. They did bring out a free birthday dessert for my sister (with lit candle!) which was very nice and the menu had Happy Birthday printed on top. Overall, the food was good but they need to work on consistency and service. I will definitely try it again and order the whole Cubano Sandwich for myself!.
The food was excellent, as always. And, the restaurant was able to seat us earlier than our reservation!
We love our server Bryan. We eat there every other month. We love the creative cuisine and prompt service.
We thought we’d give Corners Tavern another try – our first visit was years ago right after they’d opened and it was good, but really crowded, and let’s face it, parking in downtown Walnut Creek can be a bit of a challenge, so it just hasn’t been on our radar. Boy, are we glad we gave it another shot! 3 our of the 4 of us shared the gigantic, fork tender Porterhouse Steak special (meant for up to 3 people). Each of us were given a plate with the best mashed potatoes we’ve ever had (I don’t even want to know how much butter was needed to make them so creamy, but it’s worth it), perfectly cooked green beans, and the steak had blue cheese butter pats on top. Our son had the chicken, and said it was incredible. Cocktails were also creative and delicious. The service was good, dessert was great (chocolate cake and donut holes). We’ll definitely be back! We all agreed it was one of the best restaurant meals we’d had in a long time. Not inexpensive, but on par with other restaurants in the area, and the quality was great.
Excellent wild mushroom gnocchi.
Retirement lunch for a friend - we both enjoyed it a lot - marked it a 4 only for noise level (pretty noisy) - but food was great, place is pretty & service very pleasant and professional !
The food was not only delicious, it was beautify prepared. The bar has some amazing specialty cocktails. 11 out of ten, you won't be disappointed
The food was very overpriced and extremely salty. Not worth the price.
My Mom, sister and I dropped in for St. Patty's Day at 6pm and enjoyed a great meal complete w/ green beers! The noise level was very 'festive', but it was St. Patty's Day. Our waitress Mia was OUTSTANDING, thank you Mia! We'd highly recommend the battered fish, we all remarked it was the best fish we've ever had. We're looking forward to coming back w/ my husband!
Great Birthday dinner!
Corner's Tavern is solid "Bar Food" with a great atmosphere...Especially when the windows roll up. I've been there, three times, now, and the service is always spotty, adequate, but not great.
Great local place for easy lunch or dinner. Was packed when we were there so very loud and service a bit slow. But very enjoyable dinner.
Great staff! Service was excellent. They are friendly, cheerful and very efficient
Met with high school friends and we were able to be there for quite awhile and have wonderful time together. It was early lunchtime so quiet enough for table chatting.
I can’t say enough about the food at Corner’s Tavern.
The flavors and food combinations are unlike any restaurant in the burbs. We’re so fortunate to have Chef
Adam Carpenter .
Great experience at Corners Tavern, food delicious & service very good - met for lunch with friends & we had a lot of catching up to do - they never rushed us, even though we were there almost 3 hours! Enjoyed our lunch & will go there again & definitely recommend it!
Great experience- they knew it was my wife’s birthday and had a special menu just for her. Service was excellent. Food was yummy. Love this place.
How can you butcher up a Caesar salad? Also, the fries were so salty we couldn’t eat them
GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE. WINE WAS GOOD BUT PRICEY FOR LUNCH
Eclectic menu, nice presentation, very fresh and tasty. Lively ambiance, wonderful in warm weather when the front is open to the outside. Convenient parking in Broadway Plaza garage and easy to do some light or serious shopping before or after. Service was perfunctory and did not measure up to the quality of the food or the physical space. Still recommend.
Was my first time there we were seated in a booth the booth was very uncomfortable the padding was on the upper part of your back which I felt it should have been a lower part so we asked to be moved they had no problem doing that we sat down and the chairs were so comfortable. Then we order our cocktails they came out perfect. We ordered our meal and we all loved are french fries grilled cheese sandwiches and my wings
Service was great as well as the food. LOVED the appetizers. Will certainly go back.
Restaurant is very loud and you feel like your shouting so the other people at your table can hear you. Service was very slow.
Very very loud dining room and I felt a little rushed by our server. The menu was fairly ordinary but each dish was excellent, tough portions were a little small. The beet salad, for example, was a little skimpy on beets, which were lost in all the greens. The flavor and quality were great but I didn't want a spinach salad with beets; I wanted a beet salad. As a vegetarian, I found enough choices in the menu and the gnocchi--delicate and fluffy--made for a gorgeous meal.
Good beer selection. Good pub grub. Good location next to the Broadway Mall.
We like Corner Tavern especially for Happy Hour. This dinner was on Valentine's day and we were a bit disappointed that it was not the usual menu (they didn't have what we came for)
My husband and I eat here fairly often. The food is always very good. The service is ALWAYS excellent. The brussels sprouts are always great!! I like that they always have green vegie options. The entrees always change to what is fresh and available at the moment. Definitely a "go to" restaurant for me.
Food was excellent but the service was bad- our server never checked in on us after we got our food.
